Chapter 191 – He couldn’t deny that he was his most relaxed and happy self when he was with Little Wang (1)

Finding out that Li Jing didn’t come to work, didn’t answer calls, and didn’t ask for the day off, even Song Tingshen couldn’t resist advising Li Yuanhang, “You should go back to check if she’s sick. Call your parents too.”

Li Yuanhang shook his head. “They traveled abroad shortly after National Day Golden Week. They’re still in Japan.”

He was also worried, so he stood up and said, “I’ll go back and see what’s going on.”

Song Tingshen nodded. “Okay then. Did you drive here? If not, I can have the driver take you there.”

“I drove here. You can go back to your work.” Before leaving, Li Yuanhang paused, gritted his teeth, and said, “Old Song, honestly, I feel embarrassed about my sister’s matter and talking to you about it. Same as before, you don’t have to worry about anything. She’s just temporarily muddled-headed. I’ll definitely keep her from coming back here before she makes any big mistakes. You’re usually busy with work and when you’re not busy, you have to spend time with your wife and kids. Once she resigns, I’ll do my best to keep her from appearing in front of you.”

Song Tingshen didn’t know what to say to Li Yuanhang in response. From beginning to end, he had never given Li Jing preferential treatment. He wouldn’t show favoritism to Li Yuanhang’s relatives because of their friendship. Moreover, there were differences between men and women. Even if Li Jing was his friend’s sister, he kept his distance from her. It was exactly because of this that Li Jing had never been a trouble for him. He had only mentioned this matter to Li Yuanhang because he didn’t want a misunderstanding to come between them in future because of Li Jing.

However, Li Yuanhang’s response was comforting because he had chosen to take action. Song Tingshen knew that Li Yuanhang was doing this for Li Jing’s sake as well as not wanting to ruin their friendship.

Thinking of this, Song Tingshen responded with, “En.” He stood up, escorted Li Yuanhang to the elevator, and finally said, “Yuanhang, you don’t have to feel embarrassed. It’s okay once the issue is resolved. We’ve known each for so long. This issue isn’t worth us becoming estranged, right?”

“Of course.” The elevator doors opened. “Okay, just send me off up to here. I’ll hurry over there to see what’s going and get back to work too.”

After watching Li Yuanhang enter the elevator and the elevator doors closed, Song Tingshen sighed.

He hoped that Li Jing could figure things out.

After all, Li Yuanhang was between them. He couldn’t really do anything. Before doing anything, he had to take into consideration Li Yuanhang’s position and feeling.

Song Tingshen wanted to leave work early to pick Ruan Xia up from her work, so he had an assistant bring him lunch at noon. He quickly ate lunch and used his remaining lunch time to finish work ahead of schedule. This way he could leave work before 4PM, pick up Little Wang from kindergarten, and they could go together to pick up Ruan Xia. The timing would work out perfectly.

Little Wang’s kindergarten wasn’t far from their home. Song Tingshen didn’t have the driver follow him today. While he was driving, he noticed a flower shop on the side of the street. He made a turn and parked at the florist.

The shop assistant warmly welcomed Song Tingshen. “Sir, what kind of flowers would you like to buy? Or you can tell me who you’re giving the flowers to and I can offer you options as reference.”

Translator Ramblings: I feel that Li Yuanhang is being too heavy-handed in trying to control Li Jing’s choices. He’s acting like a parent that apologizes for the mistakes of his child, but Li Jing is an adult and has to take responsibility for her actions. Trying to help in this way will only hurt her in the long-term. What do you guys think?
