Chapter 37: Bathing
They came back at night.
Kate ran to the bathroom after everything was done and took a bath. Well, she wanted to take a bath, but the large bathtub was simply too high for her. This made her feel extremely aggrieved.
Kate’s mother laughed when she saw the cat was looking at the bathtub.
“Come here, Little Kitty. I’ll bathe you.”
“Meow...”
Kate would have never expected that her mother would be the one to bathe her after she grew up. Still, this is much better than having Kyle bathe her.
Thinking about that possibility, Kate shivered.

Playing with the bubbles, Kate was finally done with bathing. She really felt like a little girl again when she was inside the bathroom and bathed by her mother. Kate’s mother also patiently wiped her fur carefully.

While Kate was busy with bath, Kyle took a much shorter bath and met with Kate’s father. He looked at the row of plants and the few rats that didn’t mutate.
“So, not all of the rats are mutating back then?” Kyle asked, pointing at the rats within the cage.
“Yes, I found these few rats after searching for a bit.” Kate’s Father smiled. “They’re not mutating, so I can guess that this mutation is targeting something or perhaps limited to a certain distance. Though, I can’t say for sure since my main research is definitely not in animal’s genetic.”
“Just keep them alive for now. I’ll bring them to someone later when things had calmed down a bit.” Kyle nodded.
Kate’s Father agreed. It was a bit chaotic outside and those researchers were definitely being protected heavily by now to make sure that they could stay alive. If these researchers were to be eliminated, how were they supposed to know more about the changes that occurred?
That would be very hard.
And they didn’t want to take their chances.
“How about the plants?”
“They’re not mutating if that’s what you ask. However, I found that their cells are somewhat more active now. It’s very interesting.....”
Kyle listened for a while as Kate’s Father explained the direction of his research and the overall result. It was still vague and he couldn’t give exact number yet because the research’s time was not enough. f reewebnovel.com

“Oh, Little Kitty is now done taking a bath.” Kate’s Father looked at Kate and smiled. For some reason, he felt that this little cat was somewhat pleasing to the eye, which was strange considering that he didn’t exactly like animals.
Though, Kate’s Father didn’t think too much.
He just thought that it might be the result of him tolerating because they were now staying in Kyle’s house.
“Yes, this is the first time I see a cat who liked a bath so much.” Kate’s Mother laughed.
