242 Day The night guard switched to Dylan, Marc, and lastly Kyle at dawn. He watched the other soldiers were already moving and some other awakened people were deployed in the direction of the city’s wall.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

“May I ask about what these people are doing?”

“Mr. Kyle,” the soldier who was questioned was surprised. He smiled. “We’re strengthening the ground to make sure that the two rank 7 giant mutated snake couldn’t climb up. These people are either earth awakened or metal awakened people who are strong enough to reinforce the stature below and create thick wall.”

No matter how strong those rank 7 giant mutated snake, there was still a limit. Making a huge barrier underground to prevent these rank 7 giant mutated snake was one of the few methods they could think of.

Besides, by adding the metals to the rocks, they could also make it stronger.

That way, the rank 7 giant mutated snake would not reach them.

The only problem was that they had no way to confirm how the foundation below the city was. They could only try their best to make sure that they could manage to fight against these annoying rank 7 giant mutated snake.

As long as they could hold on long enough, they should be able to deal with these rank 7 giant mutated snake.

.....

“I see.” Kyle nodded.

He understood their strategies. It was just that these rank 6 awakened were all taking an extremely long break with this night rest. He even began to think that the people in City H was actually not so anxious.

Were there a lot of strong awakened people in City H?

That was something that Kyle didn’t know. But he knew that there were more than 10 million people in City H alone.

This was one of the few big cities that still managed to operate well despite the attacks of these giant mutated animals from time to time. At least, it proved that they had a method to make sure that they could survive despite the harsh attack from these giant mutated animals and also other survival needs.

To be able to make sure so many people lived well, it wouldn’t have been easy.

“Please excuse me, Mr. Kyle,” the soldier quickly excused himself because he still had work to do.

Kyle nodded and watched the people around him. Before long, he saw the other rank 6 awakened walked out from their room one by one. There were a lot of others who were also starting to wake up.

“It’s rare that we’re not in such a hurry.” Robert looked at the ground with interest. Because of his element, he could sense the strengthened ground and had to admit that it was not that bad.

“The rank 6 should be deployed to deal with the rank 7 giant mutated snake directly.” Mr. Yuri looked at the group in front of him. “If you’re all ready, we’re going to head over to the destination.”

“Alright.”

“Wait, I need to eat breakfast first.” Kent raised his hand and one of his subordinate handed him a sandwich.

Looking at their ready made meal, Kyle arched his eyebrows. It seemed that they all had space element in their group who were responsible to store their meal. The food seemed to be really fresh.

Kate and Lucy also walked out of their room and nodded at the others. The two of them would stay in the city and healed those who needed it while Lucy would be responsible for protecting Kate.

“It’s morning already?” Jake asked as he walked out. “I still want to sleep.”

“Wang! Wang!” <Master, there’s someone lazier than you!>

“Robby.” Marc’s lips twitched and he looked at his dog in annoyance. Did Robby had to announce to the world about how lazy his master is?

That was supposed to be his secret, ok?

“What did he say?” Lucy asked curiously.

Lotte was holding back her laugh and whispered her words through her wind element towards Lucy, telling the latter about what Robby just said.

Lucy’s lips curled up in amusement.

Kate watched the farce and shook her head. In their group, aside from Dylan, Jake, and Lucy, the others could understand the animals’ language. Thanks to it, no matter what Robby said, they could still understand and the others could help to translate it for them. fre(e)webnov(l).com

It was really funny.

“Are you ready?” Jake turned to look at Alisa, the rank 6 water awakened who was assigned to work with them again this time. Yesterday, Kyle was already very annoyed with this woman, so he took the lead in asking the other party this time.

Alisa looked at Jake and then at Kyle before nodding. “Don’t worry. I’m going to do better than yesterday.”

“You better be.” Jake shrugged.

The rank 7 giant mutated snake from yesterday was still roaming in the forests nearby. No one knew where the rank 7 giant mutated snake would attack them, but they estimated that the moment they approached it, the rank 7 giant mutated snake will attack them.

After all, the rank 7 giant mutated snake could recognize its attacker from yesterday.

“Let’s go.”

They all began to move towards different directions.

Kate and Lucy stayed behind and looked at Mr. Yuri. Even though the two of them didn’t really have good impression of this man, they knew that they still had to follow his arrangement for this battle.

In any case, it was good that Kate was assigned the support position where she didn’t have to deal with the rank 7 giant mutated snake directly.

“Follow me, the barracks are near the gate.” Yuri pointed at the door. “There are a lot of people there who are injured. We do have healer but their abilities are limited and only those of dire condition will be treated by the healers.”

“Wouldn’t it be fine for other soldier to be the one to escort us?” Kate asked curiously. She would feel bad to take the time of another rank 6 awakened when they were all supposed to be fighting.
