Chapter 65: Again?

Yeon Seo looked up at the sky as he got out of his trance.

He had been busy dealing with Kim Ijun, who kept splashing water at him from the side.

‘I don’t know. Whatever happens, happens.’

He felt a bit uneasy, but his first time swimming in the sea was quite fun.

“Tomorrow, we have three groups of guests coming. They will stay for one night and have breakfast included.”

“That’s a lot, isn’t it?”

“We opened early, so we lowered the price.”

The PD poured cold water on the cast members who had come back from having fun. He explained the additional rules: the daily operating cost of the guest house would vary depending on the guests. And the money was ridiculously low.

‘Just as I expected.’

Yeon Seo slightly lifted one corner of his mouth, but his eyes met the PD’s again.

The PD shivered as if he had seen something he shouldn’t have.

“Will this money be enough? Anyway, the two youngest ones, do you want to come with me?”

“Yes.”

They couldn’t just keep complaining. Yeon Seo, Park Seunghwan, and Kim Ijun headed to the market for dinner and tomorrow.

“But are we okay?”

“What do you mean?”

“You caught a pickpocket and the police came, remember?”

“Oh, that? Don’t worry about it.”

He had given them one more instruction when he told them to get the stuff.

There would be no pickpocketing of Asians while Yeon Seo and his group were staying on this island.

As expected, he noticed some suspicious people, but they turned away with disappointment after seeing their faces.

What did Im Seunghyun say to them… And how did Juseong’s power have such an influence in a foreign country?

After having a lively dinner with the cast members, Yeon Seo went to the beach. The clear night sky was brightly lit by the Milky Way, and the same was reflected on the clear sea.

“Wow…”

“I’m glad we came here.”

The cast members who followed him exclaimed. Yeon Seo also stared blankly at the beautiful sight.

‘Maybe it was just a bad feeling.’

Contrary to his worry, he didn’t see any sign of Lee Heeseo.

And the next day, the guest house [O Neul] opened.

“Check-in is at 3 o’clock, right?”

“Yeah, we should get ready soon.”

While everyone was busy with their assigned roles, Yeon Seo, who had nothing to do, stood idly.

“What about me?”

“Yeon Seo, you just rest.”

“Is that okay?”

“You have to go to the market early in the morning anyway. We need you. There’s no one else who can bargain.”

Everyone agreed with Park Seunghwan’s opinion.

They were all people who had reached the top of their fields, so he thought they would be arrogant and moody, but they were all smooth and round. Was he the only one with a bad temper here?

‘Or did they think I would mess up?’

He was used to being treated like a lord, so Yeon Seo did as he was told and lay down on the hammock installed on the tree. The weather was a bit hot, but it was fine in the shade.

‘But I’m a bit bored…’

He felt restless as he stayed still, so he got up and peeked at the kitchen. Park Seunghwan and Jin Suho were preparing the ingredients.

“Is there nothing for me to do?”

“Go and rest.”

“I’m bored.”

Yeon Seo ignored Park Seunghwan’s words and rolled up his sleeves.

“Then can you chop this? Do you know how to use a knife?”

“Let me see.”

Knife? He knew how to use a knife in a different way. Yeon Seo first observed Park Seunghwan’s movements carefully. It looked easy to the eye, but…

Jin Suho pushed a cutting board and a knife in front of Yeon Seo and handed him a green onion, which was relatively easy to chop.

“You just chop it like this.”

Jin Suho showed him an example. His movements looked no different from Park Seunghwan’s.

“You’re good at it.”

“Cooking is my hobby.”

“Doesn’t anyone do it for you?”

“I find that more uncomfortable.”

Oh, right. He had OCD. He must be the type who can’t stand someone else messing up his space.

“Then wouldn’t it be better for you to clean?”

“I would like that, but I’m the only one who can be the kitchen assistant.”

Jin Suho actually preferred cleaning to being the kitchen assistant. He was bothered by the dust in various places of the guest house.

“Really?”

Yeon Seo casually picked up the knife in front of him and measured its size. Park Seunghwan, who was watching him, snorted.

“Isn’t that too serious?”

“It’s a knife. I have to be careful.”

“It’s not like you’re going to chop someone up.”

Oops, he remembered the old days. Yeon Seo blinked a few times and then stood the knife on the cutting board.

“How much should I chop?”

“Just chop it into small pieces like this.”

“Let me try.”

He chopped the green onion a few times. His posture was pretty good, but it was clumsy since it was his first time.

Well, that’s understandable… Park Seunghwan gave up his expectations and was about to prepare his own ingredients when Jin Suho called him.

“Oh… Hyung, look.”

Yeon Seo’s clumsy knife skills became skillful and faster. The sound of the knife hitting the cutting board was steady and the pieces of the ingredients were evenly cut to the same size.

“What? He’s good at it.”

“Doesn’t he look like a Chinese restaurant chef?”

“Yeah.”

Yeon Seo got the hang of it in a breath and finished chopping the green onion in less than a minute.

“That was easy.”

“Yeon Seo, can you chop this too?”

Yeon Seo skillfully chopped the carrot that Jin Suho handed him.

He had no trouble with the hard vegetable, and he was even faster and more accurate than when he chopped the green onion.

“…Suho, you go and rest.”

“Then I’ll go and clean.”

They didn’t need Jin Suho anymore. Yeon Seo was doing the work of a hundred by himself… Park Seunghwan looked at Yeon Seo with satisfaction.

“How about learning to cook this time?”

“Cook?”

“Yeah, you seem good at using a knife… The fire is a bit dangerous, but you’ll be fine once you get used to it.”

Cooking… He wasn’t very interested in it. Yeon Seo chopped the ingredients that Park Seunghwan handed him as instructed.

“Yeon Seo, don’t you have a hobby?”

“Hobby?”

Yeon Seo’s hand stopped for a moment. Hobby, hobby… In 2207, Kang Jinhoo stayed at home and watched old videos. But since he came here, he didn’t watch anything other than what he acted in.

I couldn’t remember exactly because of the butterfly effect prevention, but I had memories of seeing the future, so none of the videos I watched felt as fresh as the first time.

“Reading scripts?”

“That’s work.”

“Then, spending money?”

“That’s not really a hobby…”

“Zoning out at home?”

Park Seunghwan snorted. How did he live without any hobbies?

“Don’t think too hard, just find something that you enjoy doing. You don’t like cooking?”

“A little.”

“Then you’d better like eating. I know someone who has a hobby of exploring restaurants.”

“That sounds good.”

Yeon Seo nodded slightly. He had lived too bleakly. Of course, he had a lot of things, so he was materially rich and didn’t lack anything.

“Yeon Seo! The guests are here, can you translate for them?”

“Sure.”

Yeon Seo put down the knife and headed outside. Park Seunghwan looked at the mountain of ingredients and muttered to himself.

“Wow… I don’t have to prepare the ingredients anymore.”

When he went outside, a couple who looked like they were dating were admiring the guest house.

“*Where are you from?”

They looked at Yeon Seo and paused for a moment. They must have been surprised by his face.

Have they never seen a handsome person before? Yeon Seo acted as if nothing was wrong and spoke to them.

He had often encountered things like the flight attendants taking extra care of him or being overly friendly when he asked them something on his way here from Korea. So their reaction wasn’t unfamiliar to him.

“*Germany.”

“*Then German would be more comfortable for you. Come this way.”

Yeon Seo smiled.

“Sister, where are we going?”

“The room at the end of the corridor upstairs.”

As he led the guests up the stairs, the woman spoke to him.

“*Did you learn German?”

“*It’s basic.”

“*But… what do you do?”

“*I’m an actor in Korea.”

“*Oh! No wonder.”

The two couples whispered to each other and then shook their phone at Yeon Seo before entering the room.

“*Can we take a picture with you?”

“*…Sure.”

Yeon Seo squeezed between the couple and took a picture. Kim Ijun whispered to him from the side, do you need me? But there was no need for that.

The next two teams also showed a similar reaction to Yeon Seo as the couple. The cast members who were watching from behind whispered to each other.

“Why don’t they ask me to take a picture with them…?”

“He’s a bit unrivaled, isn’t he?”

“Yeah, I thought he wasn’t from this world when I first saw him.”

He was worried, but fortunately, he served the first day’s guests without any trouble.

“Take this and hang it over there. I’ll do more laundry.”

“Okay.”

The operation of the guest house was easier than expected.

First of all, there were a lot of things among the gifts that Yeon Seo received that were helpful, so much so that the PD who looked at them grabbed his neck.

But it was better than the cast members stumbling and causing the viewers’ frustration, right?

‘It’s quiet.’

He started cleaning up right after the guests left.

He took the laundry basket he got from Iyunjeong and went outside with a thud. The laundry that Jin Suho had hung was swaying in the wind.

‘It wouldn’t be bad to come here for a personal vacation…’

He didn’t see any hallucinations anyway, so it wouldn’t be bad to go to the place in his memory.

But was it because he was too careless? When he hung a blanket on the clothesline, he glanced at the other side…

“Ah…!”

Yeon Seo swallowed his breath. His heart sank. He bowed his head and covered his mouth.

‘…Again?’

Why now of all times?

He heard a ringing in his ears and his head suddenly hurt as if it was stabbed with a needle. He gathered his courage and looked up again. Lee Heeseo’s feet were still hanging in the air, limp.

“Damn it…”

He felt like cursing, but something else seemed to surge up. He opened his eyes hard and looked around.

Luckily, the blanket covered the camera’s blind spot. But he couldn’t stay here forever… He tried to think of something else and ignored the hallucination.

“Over here.”

Jin Suho, who was hanging the blanket on the other side, pulled Yeon Seo to the back of the house.

“Ugh!”

Yeon Seo crouched down and coughed on the floor. Blood splattered.

He spat out blood and thought fiercely about where the camera was and how much he had to pay the PD to delete it if it was recorded.

If he didn’t, he felt like he would lose his mind because of the hallucination of Lee Heeseo.

Fortunately, the place where Jin Suho took him was an unused warehouse-like place, so there was no camera. How did he find this place?

“…Thank you.”

He looked at Jin Suho’s stiff face as he handed him water, drank it, and wiped his mouth with his sleeve. He thought it would be annoying if he was caught, but he didn’t know it would be helpful.

“Are you really okay?”

Jin Suho had figured out his personality to some extent after spending a few days with Yeon Seo.

He probably wouldn’t get the answer he wanted no matter what he asked.

“I had a health check before I came here.”

“Oh, right.”

He wouldn’t have been able to come here if he had any health problems. Then was it a disease of unknown cause? An incurable disease?

“Wouldn’t it be better to get a thorough examination? At the hospital…”

Hospital, hospital…

‘That’s what I want to ask.’

Yeon Seo’s recent hospital records were only health checks, nothing else.

‘If he had been seeing hallucinations since before, it would be a mental problem… Why didn’t he go to the hospital?’

He couldn’t help but worry about it. He pressed his throbbing forehead.
