Chapter 30: Sparring with Dean

“What sort of monster have you created, Stacy!?” Dean And Grandmother shouted at the same time. Amari was still in a daze.

“She doesn’t even have a class, and her stats are already that high. Normal peoples get their class at 200 to 300 per stat.” Granny said.

“How are you only level 27 after killing 70 people last night? Albeit, they were just uncommon classes, and the highs level was 500. Excluding the Commander that I took care of.” Ignoring them, Mom asked and added some information.

“70 people? Did I kill everyone last night?” I knew that I had something to do with the destroyed mansion, but I didn’t think I killed everyone that attacked.

“You don’t remember?” Stacy said, confused.

“No, from when I kicked Dizzy out of the mansion, everything gets hazy. The last thing I am certain about is when I looked down at you in my fox form,” I explain.

“I see. Let’s take that break, and then we will talk about all this.” Mom said and looked at Daren and continued. “We are going to make it like that this never happened.” Getting a nod, everyone started to clear out and clean up.

“I will never get used to this family,” Amari commented, walking out.

.....

“Kitsuna, do you want to go have a spar?” Surprisingly, it wasn’t Mom that asked but Dean. Looking at him, I said.

“We can, but not a long one, though.” Nodding, he started walking out with me behind him. Mom and Granny also followed behind us.

Arriving outside, I saw that there were a lot of people running around on the training ground. Doing a quick count, I concluded that there should be around 100 people here. Looking at Dean, I ask.

“Why are there so many people training here. At the mansion, at the border, I never saw someone else train?”

“That’s because it’s too dangerous there. Most of the people you see here are Private or Corporal rank, and the instructors are at most Sargeants, except Gray.” He said, walking to a platform.

“Ooh, I see.”

“Cough, listen up.” Hearing Deans’ voice, everyone stopped doing what they were and looked at him. “I am going to spar with my daughter real quick, so can you clear out. You may watch the spar if you want to.”

“Dean, Wasn’t Amari a mage type?” A man with short grey hair and black eyes, wearing the instructor armor, asked.

“Yes, she is. I am talking about my other daughter.”

“What!?” Half of the field exclaimed, hearing that he had another daughter they didn’t know of.

“She was adopted 3 years ago. She was living with Stacy at the border until yesterday.”

“I see, okay, everyone! Earth users make an arena. Make it so we can also watch their spar.” The man shouted to everyone, and they started running around getting everything ready. f(r)eewebn(o)vel.com

Seeing what was going on, I looked at Dean for an explanation. But when is saw his face, I knew he didn’t plan this. Feeling my eyes on him, he turned to me and said.

“I am sorry. I didn’t want you to meet them like this. Sigh, Gray sometimes take everything seriously.” He said with a wry smile.

“But this is imported. All of us need to know who is part of the house.” A sudden voice said from the side. Looking at the voice, I saw the same instructor that talked before walking towards us. When he was closer, I saw he was similar in height to me. Looking at me, he looked confused first before introducing himself. “My name is Gray, no surname.”

“Yo, my name is Kitsuna. Before you ask, I am the same age as Amari.” I said, smiling.

“Ooh, you are really tall for your age.” He said, intrigued.

“Yeah, it is something special about my race.”

“Not a normal demon fox? Haha, I am looking forward to your spar then.” He said, laughing. looking at the stage that was almost finished building, he asked. “Do we need to prepare any weapon for you, young miss?”

“You don’t have to worry about that. Also, no formalities are needed with me.”

“Will do.” He said, walking away.

“It seems the stage is done,” Dean said, tapping my shoulder. “I will formally introduce everyone on another date.” Nodding at him, I walked to the stage.

Standing on the stage, I looked at Dean standing 5 meters away from me with a great sword in his hand with a loose stance. Taking my eyes off him, I looked around me. Gray didn’t lie. Everyone who was training a while ago was watched from a small elevated position at us with an expectational expression on their faces.

“Sigh, let’s make this a good show, shall we,” I muttered to myself.

“Are you ready?” Gray shouted. Both of us nodded. “Good. Start!?”

I was a bit surprised at the sudden start. Seeing Dean already running at me, I made some daggers and throw them at his legs, not moving from my position. He easily dodged them and had a small frown on his face.

When he was about 2 meters away, I made a scythe and swung it at him. He moved back to dodge, making me moved forward to attacked again. This time he stepped forward and ducked down, avoiding the scythe again.

“As a scythe user, they need to know about their weakness,” He said, swinging his own sword at me.

Smirking at him, I changed the scythe into 2 short swords. Moving one to block his sword and the other one to stab his gut. Seeing the sudden change in my weapon, he jumped back and looked at me, confused. Not giving him time, I threw the 2 swords at him.

Moving to the side, he dodges them easily but suddenly rolled sideways, barely dodging a Warhammer coming down at his position. Coming to a stop, he blocked 2 daggers with his sword that was thrown at him. Looking at me, he saw that I had another scythe on my shoulder, but I wasn’t attacking.

“Tsk, you really are like Stacy.” He clicked his tongue.

“Haha. Mother taught me well.” I said, nodding.

“Wha!?” Hearing Mom surprised shout at the side. I looked at her. She had the biggest smile on her face I have seen yet.

“Haha.” Dean and I both laughed at knowing why she was so happy.

“Let’s continued,” Dean said, running at me. Deciding to exchange some sword blow from him, I changed the scythe into a katana and swung, blocking his sword. Staying like that, he asked.

“Why did you change?”

“You want to see how good I am, right?” Getting a nod from him, I took my sword back from the block and attacked him again.

After some blows, he jumped back to making a distance between us. He looked at me with an amazing expression and said.

“You are good for a 13-year-old.”

“Thanks,” I thanked him while rubbing my cheek.

“Okay, I am going to do something. I hope you can block it.” Nodding at him, he started to infuse fire mana into the sword. Seeing this, I got in a defensive position. I knew I had a Flash Step if needed, so I didn’t have to worry too much.

Disappearing from his position, a reappeared in front of me, swinging his sword downwards. Surprisingly it was easy to block the sword, but the mana he infused his sword with wasn’t normal fire but was lava. The amount of heat coming from the sword made my hoodie and scarf made of regular fabric catch on fire. Feeling the fire on my skin, I Flash Step away from him.

“Aah, shit.” Ripping the hoodie and my scarf of me, revealing my skin and the bandages around my chest. Luckily they were special bandages, so they didn’t catch fire like my hoodie. Seeing my upper body, a lot of people gasp some whistled as well.

“*Whistled* Holly crap, she is one hot and scary babe.” Someone said behind me on the stands. Ignoring him, I kicked the clothes to the side, getting ready to attack Dean again.

“Yeah, just look at all her muscles. That is one sexy ass six-pack.” The girl next to him said, breathing heavy.

“Un, by her body alone, she wins against a lot of us. Even the way her curses move like that makes her look stronger.” Another guy said.

This time I turned around and looked at them, confused.

“You aren’t bothered by me being cursed,” I asked.

“Huh? No, there are so many cursed people in the black ops it is a normal thing to see. Curses aren’t that bad. The only bad ones are the ones that affect other people, and by the look of yours, it won’t hurt us.” The guy said casually, waving a hand at me.

“That just made me more confused?” I said, dumbfounded, dropping my stance.

“Haha. You are new here. You will get used to it eventually.” The girl said, laughing.

“Okay?” Turning back, facing Dean, I saw him smile at me. Shaking my head, I used Flash Step again to attack him. fre ewebno vel.com

Appearing in front of him, I brought the katana sideways. He ducked under my sword and tried to sweep my feet. Jumping over him, I rolled away. Coming to a stop, I put my sword behind me, blocking his attack at my back. Not moving, I turn my head a bit, looking him in the eyes. He smiled at me, but when he saw that, I was smirking back at him. He looked down and saw my tail wrapped around one of his legs.

“Shit.” He said before I threw him away against the side of the arena.

*Boom*

Standing up, I looked at the smoke cloud.

“Clap! I think that’s enough!” Hearing Granny clapping and calling the end of the match. I relaxed and walked to the cloud, intending to help Dean up. Before I could, I heard Mom laughing.

“HAHAHA, You were just outplayed!?” Hearing her laughter coming from the cloud, I stopped moving. When most of the smoke cleared, I saw Mom standing on Dean, looking at him and laughing.

“Woah, the new miss isn’t bad.”

“Yeah, she is powerful.”

There were a lot of comments coming from the stands.
