Inside the shop, He Qingwan had already finished preparing the two dessert items plus the change. She was just about to hand them over to the man before Xi Yun dashed inside loudly and startled her.
He Qingwan has this habit of pausing in the middle of her actions when she talked. So her hand that was holding the man’s money paused in midair and she smiled at Xi Yun, “Xiao Yun, where did you go earlier?” She just turned around and he was gone.

He Qingwan turned her attention back to him. Right when she was about to hand him the items, Xi Yun suddenly shouted out loudly, “No!”
He Qingwan was startled again. She smiled at him, “Xiao Yun?”
The man was annoyed. He turned to Xi Yun and said snapped at him, “What is your problem, kid!”
Xi Yun was so anxious he was sweating. Jie jie had asked him to stall the man to buy her time, but he couldn’t rouse his suspicion. There were just Aunty He and him in the store, it was too dangerous.
