Chapter 16 – Little Cutie (3)

When she reached her front door, she noticed the light came from the 6th floor.

Lo and behold, the light went off right when she got there. Immediately she heard the noises of something slamming against the wall, triggering the light to turn back on.

Su Tian thought about it and it sounded like a pencil case. Could that be little cutie Xi Yun?

Even since she met Boss Liu, Xi Yun’s nickname in her mind had been honorably upgraded from “poor little thing” to “little cutie”. That ought to call for celebrations.

She didn’t knock but walked around the stairs quietly. Sure enough, it was Xi Yun, the poor little thing... nope, the little cutie, sitting on the ground with two notebooks opened up in front of him. The little cutie had a ball point pen in each hand and was doing homework with both hands at the same thing.

Su Tian’s mouth dropped open. Wow, that was impressive. She didn’t know that could be done!

She hesitated for a second, took two steps back and walked up the stairs again. This time thumping with her feet intentionally.

After she rounded the corner, she pretended to be surprised by him, “Oh boy, I was wondering who it was. Your daddy is not home?”

Xi Yun stopped writing and sat up while looking at Su Tian. He then nodded with his lips tightly shut.

He left the house today to pick up the homework assignment books from his fellow students and realized nobody was home when he returned.

Su Tian walked up to him and only then noticed that the two summer homework assignment books were identical; and there were a few more behind him, all with different names. All but one with Xi Yun’s name on it.

She decided against asking about them and all she said was, “Why don’t you come and wait for your dad to come home at my place.

As though she was worried that he’d declined her offer, Su Tian immediately added, “You can hear it when your dad come home from my place.”

Xi Yun shook his head, “That’s alright, I can wait outside.”

Su Tian, “But it’s already late, have you had dinner?”

He was already over half way through those homework assignment books. As fast as he was, he must have been out here for a while.

Xi Yun, “Yes, I did....”

But his body wasn’t cooperating; his stomach started growling right away as though calling him out.

Xi Yun’s little face turned beet red all of a sudden.

Su Tian smiled with no ill intention. She didn’t say a word about it but bent over and picked up the homework assignments scattered on the ground. Then, picking up his hand, “C’mon, I am getting hungry as well. Come and join me.”

With his pencil case and pens in one hand, Xi Yun blushed as he looked at the hand inside hers and slowly shuffled along behind her going downstairs.

Su Tian fished out her keys, unlocked the front door and went inside, “Mom! I am home! And I brought a young guest with me!”

He Qingwan walked over and saw Xi Yun. He was still clutching his pencil case behind Su Tian. He bowed at her and said, “Good evening, Aunty. I am Xi Yun.”

His cuteness and politeness immediately ignited He Qingwan’s Holy Mother-ness. She immediately grabbed little cutie to one side and asked him how he was doing, and where did Su Tian get the basketball from.

Su Tian put the basketball down on one said and recounted the story as she changed out of her shoes. After hearing what had happened, He Qingwan was more and more unhappy with Xu Zhiqiang, but she didn’t say anything in front of Xi Yun. She only took his little hand in hers to get him to go inside the house.
