Instead of letting the monster bleed to death, Lexus thought that he should use some other methods to kill monsters. Still, he changed his mind when he noticed that Aion was paying too much attention. It was better to leave that lesson for later.

"Those creatures are called the numbing claws, their claws have that kind of effect," Lexus said. "You can sell them directly to doctors or some middlemen. Despite that ability, their meat can be eaten just fine."

That was good to know, but Aion wondered if it was fine to say that while the monster was alive. The creature was going to die of bleeding, but… before he could think of anything else, Aion heard sole grunts coming from the interior of the dungeon and he wasn't the only one who noticed that.

"Two more incoming… Lesson two: when fighting agaisnt more than one enemy at the same time, focus on defense," Lexus said. "Don't let them surround you and don't waste a good chance for a counterattack."

The monsters didn't come together, so Lexus had the chance on how to use that to his advantage. He strengthened his stance and when the first enemy approached, he dodged to the side and hit the right leg of the monster and hitting an artery with the bare use of movement. It was almost accurate to say that the enemy threw its leg against the sword.

"Don't use big swings, focus on compact ones, the trick to win a battle against numbers is to cause damage without being damaged," Lexus said and then blocked the attack of the second monster with the tip of his sword. "Even if you are weaker than the opponent, as long as your defensive stance is firm, you can gain some leverage against them. Still, this kind of action can only work if you don't hesitate and think fast."

Lexus was a silent man, at least in front of Aion and his mother. Despite that, he was a good teacher. Since his methods were based on real combat, they could be as efficient as possible. In any case, one of the monsters lost the mobility of its legs and the other could only attack with a single arm. Lexus had an even easier time dodging and aiming at the legs of the monsters again. Once they could only walk, Lexus thrust his sword at their hearts insanely fast and he didn't feel any resistance.

"I bet I could get some nice bonuses by making the system absorb and process those bodies, but I can't do that while there are others around," Aion thought. "For the time being, I should focus on these lessons."

Aion has been training in secret, but thanks to those few fights, he realized that he had a lot… A lot to learn. It was only natural since in that world, many types of combat styles had been sharpened over hundreds of years.

One of the most important things that Aion learned was the importance of his legs. While he didn't attack with them, they determined many things in fights. His movement speed, the power to do small movements that change the entire flow of the battle, it even helps him absorb some blunt damage. No wonder his father made him run so much… He probably should try to run at full speed instead of jogging. That would make his Lower body stronger.

"Unfortunately, I can't run all day and I need to practice those swings and how he controls his upper body," Aion thought.

While he was teaching his kids the fundamentals of fighting with sword and shield, Lexus actually used long swords to fight and he didn't look like he was using a style. He was either self taught or a style developed to make people develop their own techniques… That was a bit disappointing. It would have been really cool if his family on the father's side had some special and secret techniques. Still, Aion was special enough considering the side of his mother.

"Speaking of which, I wonder why mother didn't try to teach me magic…" Aion thought.

Putting that aside, Aion resumed his focus on the actions and words of his father. His half brothers also looked pretty focused since it wasn't every day that they could see their father fight. Rather than in one month of training, they felt that they improved a lot on that single day filled with practical lessons.

Aside from what he had learned, Aion memorized many other things. How to parry direct and long ranged attacks, how charge and make the enemy lose their balance by avoiding a total impact on the moment of attack. He even taught his kids how to dismantle monster bodies and clean their weapons from the blood and guts property.

"That is all the basics that I can teach you all, from this day on, you should develop your own fighting style according to your talents," Lexus said. "We use that kind of free training method because our family never wasted the potential of our generations. Look for the weapons that better suit yourselves and do your best to improve with them every day."

That didn't sound like something Lexus would usually say, that day had been filled with surprises and they weren't over yet.

"Although I said that, there is only one technique that we pass down on our family, once you master it, you will be considered a real warrior by me," Lexus said. "Watch closely."
