Chapter 186: The ’13th Clan.’

Inside the flagship bridge of the 7th Fleet of the 2nd Legion, Io Capital Circle.

“Commander, we have detected that the other side is scanning our fleet from all sides!”

“Damn it, even if we keep a low profile, we will be exposed!”

After hearing the report from the officer, Scott had a headache. Such rampant and blatant scanning of warships was a serious provocation.

However, Scott could not react right now. How would they, as a ‘Level 3 Civilization,’ dare to say anything to a Level 4 Civilization?

However, even if he did not do anything and continued to pretend to be a Level 3 Civilization, there was no guarantee that the other side would not be able to find something based on their scan results.

Scott considered just destroying the other side directly. However, after several repeated calculations, he found that it was not possible.

After all, he only had 20,000 Battleships. It would only be plausible if the fleet could get within 300,000 km of the enemy, ensuring an absolute hit rate, and all of the Battleships could attack at the same time!

Otherwise, it was absolutely impossible to destroy all of the enemy warships in one wave before the other side could react.

In the end, he could only hope that they didn’t scan anything. Otherwise, this will probably start the war between the two Level 4 Civilizations ahead of schedule.

“Commander, we have received a message from the other side!”

While Scott was racking his brain, the Adjutant suddenly reported.

“What did it say?”

“The other side asked which Civilization’s fleet we are, and whether we need to do business?”

At this time, Scott looked at Bella with some confusion.

“Commander Scott, Interstellar Merchants are like that. However, there is no guarantee if the other side sensed something and they just wanted to confirm it further!”

Listening to Bella’s words, Scott thought about it and agreed.

Indeed, it was possible that the enemy had detected something unusual. But since they were not sure, they wanted to confirm it first.

No to mention that the 7th Fleet currently lacked a reasonable identity. After all, for the Babawi Empire, unknown forces were the most suspicious.

‘That’s right!’

Suddenly, Scott brightened and thought of a devilish idea.

“First Lady Bella, I have a plan, but I need the cooperation of the Io Federation.”

“Commander Scott, please speak. We will not refuse and will do what we can do!”

“Okay, here’s the deal, we…”

After listening to what Scott said, Bella was wide-eyed. They could do this to hide their identity?

It was indeed a good method.

“Okay, I’ll get in touch with Alfie to make sure we don’t reveal ourselves!”

A minute later.

“Commander Scott, Alfie has agreed, there’s no need to worry!”

“Alright, Adjutant, connect me to the other side’s communication request!”

“Yes!”

Soon, a humanoid turtle appeared on the bridge.

“Lord Babaweiler!”

When she saw the figure, Bella was surprised at first, but immediately recovered and respectfully greeted.

Bella knew Babaweiler. As he was the one who brought a merchant fleet to Io decades ago and traded a large amount of rare resources from the Io Federation in a semi-forced manner.

Why was it semi-forced? It was because although the other side did not steal it, the things they exchanged for it were worthless things. After calculation, their ‘payment’ did not even amount to one billionth of the price of the rare resources.

But even so, since it was the Babawi Empire, at the time, Bella did not dare have any complaints. They could only obediently carry out the transaction.

“Oh, it’s Queen Bella, I didn’t expect this. I thought it was some Civilization we didn’t know about! After all, this fleet is all Battleships, it’s a huge force!”

“Lord Babaweiler jests. This is the fleet of our 13th Clan. It is our special fleet for the Queen’s protection, so it is all made up of Battleships to show that the Queen is powerful. After all, battleships are our most powerful ships,” said Bella with a slight smile.

[Note: Changed tribes to clans]

Babaweiler also found the explanation acceptable. He then looked at the people beside Bella, and saw that they were of the same race as the Io Federation.

Though there were some differences, as they do not have wings on their backs.

“Queen Bella, why are they different from you and do not have wings on their backs?”

“The 12 Clans of the Angels are all female, while the 13th are all male. Male Angels do not have wings.”

Bella began to speak nonsense, as what they had discussed and planned earlier.

Babaweiler recalled the information about the Io Federation. The Io Federation didn’t have any males, and they relied solely on biotechnology to reproduce.

He even remembered back when he came here last time, he had asked Bella about this. The latter answered that the male Angels had disappeared for 10,000 years, so how did they find them now?

“The male angels have been separated from us for more than 10,000 years, and the 13th Clan has only recently returned.”

Seeing Babaweiler’s expression, Bella immediately explained.

“Alright, I’m not interested in your race. But the Sierra Empire Emperor told me that you have Energy Shields and Warp Engines, shouldn’t you explain it?”

“My Lord, we have purchased a number of Energy Shields, but no Warp Engines. We currently have four legions with Energy Shields installed. All of them are at the border node, you can go and inspect any of our ships!”

“The Emperor of the Sierra Empire is obviously deceiving you, because they have been defeated by us. They are just bearing a grudge. They want to use Lord Babaweiler to go against us!”

Bella said with a face of indignation.

Bella had no fear of Babaweiler inspecting the ships in the border node, because they didn’t have Warp Engines.

As for the three Queen’s Guard Fleets at the front line, they were ordered to hide.

After listening to this, Babaweiler was puzzled. Was Imran really deceiving him?

“I’ll check it out, I hope you’re not lying to me! But where did the Energy Shields come from?”

“Replying to Lord Babaweiler, the Energy Shield was traded to us 10 years ago by an Interstellar Merchant who came here and claimed to be from the Freedom Alliance on the Fourth Main Spiral Arm.”

“Freedom Alliance?”

Other Civilizations on the Orion’s Arm Branch may not know about the four Galactic alliances, but the Babawi Empire does.

If it really was from an Interstellar Merchant from the Freedom Alliance, then it would make sense!

“Lord Babaweiler, they sold us a million Energy Shield devices, which almost emptied our entire Federation’s savings.”

The more Bella spoke, the more Babaweiler felt like he was being played by Imran.

“Bring a few sets to my ship, our experts here will disassemble and study them!”

“Yes, I will arrange for them to be delivered immediately!”
