Chapter 325 Maria versus Magnus Part 4

Chapter 325: Maria versus Magnus Part 4

What followed after the disappearance of Chief Kylo, Magnus, Moei, and Marlon, was the signal that marked the complete defeat of the Assembly of Freedom.

The banners of the Assembly of Freedom started falling one after the other, completely getting abandoned and stepped on by all of their members who are solely focused on saving themselves and no longer bothering about caring about the others as they run away as fast as their feet could take them from the soldiers of the Green Horn City. Some of them even wished to have more feet so that they could run faster.

Contrary to what was expected, in response to the Assembly of Freedom's retreat, the Green Horn City didn't continue chasing after. Instead, they made their way to the Hush Village.

After receiving the report from the Dream Village of Gilbert and Kayn's findings in the Hush Village a few days back where hundreds of villagers suffered torture and all sorts of mistreatment at the hands of the Assembly of Freedom, they decided that it is their topmost priority to free and save them compared to chasing after the dispersing defeated men from their enemy.

Hunting the defeated army of the Assembly of Freedom can wait since they no longer have a place to stay as everyone in 'The Bridge' would close their doors to them due to the fact that they've lost the war. It would have been a completely different story if they'd won though.

In that case, everyone in 'The Bridge' would do their best to capture the defeated army of the Assembly of Freedom in hopes that they can curry favor for the winner, Green Horn City.

"Should we go with them?" Gilbert can't help asking.

"No, we have bigger matters to take care of," Kayn shook his head.

After saying that, Kayn along with Gilbert, Wesley, Jude, Charles, and Jericho separated from the main army and went to the forest to their east. They are planning to meet up with the rest of the gang so that Kayn can finally proceed with the plan that he has been cooking up all this time.

The rest of the gang is referring to Maria, Garvin, Ekin, Seven, and most importantly…

A murderous intent momentarily escaped from Kayn's eyes as he remembered one person in that group.

Christopher!

It is now time to end the life of one of the people that betrayed him in the second life, especially considering that he no longer has any use for Christopher, therefore it is time for the latter to finally meet his end.

As for how exactly it would be, he already had a plan in mind that would make Christopher feel exactly the same way as how he felt when they betrayed him.

…..

Maria, Garvin, Iken, Seven, and Christopher didn't really go that far away from the battlefield. Hence, Kayn almost instantly found them just after briefly entering the Slumbering Forest.

Seven had specifically picked a position where he could still watch the war without the risk of accidentally getting found out or possibly implicated in the battle. After all, he is nothing more but a third party between the war of the Green Horn City and the Assembly of Freedom. If ever he is found out, he'd most likely get executed by either party involved.

"Seven," Kayn called out.

"Kayn," Seven greeted back with a slight bow of his head. He is now a loyal servant of Kayn, so he ought to start treating the latter as his master.

"Everyone," Kayn looks at the others.

"I truly never expected that it wasn't only me that you invited," Garvin still can't think of any reason on how exactly Kayn was able to invite Maria and Christopher to join his side as well.

"Well, things happened which resulted in this conclusion," Kayn doesn't want to explain it himself since Maria can explain how he invited her. Garvin can just go and ask her if he truly wants to know.

"Now time for the execution," Kayn's eyes turned cold as he looks at Christopher who is currently standing like a robot by the side. Because of the Undead Apple, the latter would just stand senselessly without any orders.

"What are you planning on doing?" Gilbert can't help asking.

At this point in time, it is already quite obvious to everyone, excluding Garvin and Iken, that Christopher was one of the people that supposedly betrayed Kayn in the past. As for what exactly had happened, none of them knows. And whether they'll find out about it or not, that would entirely be up to them to uncover since Kayn doesn't seem to want to explain it to them.

"Did you make sure they would follow?" Kayn looks at Maria. He was refering to Chief Kylo, Magnus, Moei, and Marlon.

"Yes," Maria nodded. She had purposely moved in a suspicious manner in order to attract the attention of Chief Kylo and his group who were just secretly hiding nearby after disappearing. They probably wanted to see the end of the war for themselves first before eventually going away to start their own redemption arc.

"Good," Kayn truly appreciated Maria's effort.

"Everyone, disperse," Kayn signaled.

In the next moment, Gilbert and the others immediately disappeared and hid behind the trees nearby.

"It is time for you to feel exactly what it feels like being betrayed by people you trust," Kayn smiled devilishly before also disappearing.

The instant Kayn disappeared, Christopher soon regained consciousness.

"Huh?" Christopher quickly began looking around his surroundings. "A forest? Since there are Drowsy Mushrooms nearby, this seems to still be the Slumbering Forest,"

"How the fuck did I even get here?"

Christopher was clueless about everything that happened while he was under the spell of the Undead Apple and the only thing he could remember was that he was dealing with some important documents in the headquarters of the Assembly of Freedom before his mind suddenly fade away and turned black.
