Chapter 319 Christopher’s Fate Part 4

Chapter 319: Christopher's Fate Part 4

"Wesley?" Chief Kylo raised his eyebrow, intrigued at the Christopher revelation.

"That's right!" Christopher nodded his head repeatedly as if he finally realized the truth. "I just woke up not so long ago right in the middle of the forest. I don't know how I got there but there's a huge blank space in between my memory from when I was still inside the building of our headquarters sorting out important documents to this present moment,"

"I see," Chief Kylo finally understood the situation. It seems like Christopher has unfortunately fallen victim to Wesley's infamous charm without the former knowing about it. The most likely moment for Wesley to do it should be back then when they suddenly celebrated a food contest as Christopher was invited to become one of its judges.

"Don't believe him Chief Kylo!" Lecter rebutted.

"Calm down Lecter," Patter raised his hand.

"Thank goodness you understand me, Chief Kylo, sir," Christopher felt slightly relieved.

"No problem," Chief Kylo smiles while nodding his head. "Is Maria also a victim of Wesley?"

"Did Maria also betray the Assembly of Freedom?" Christopher was caught by surprise. He didn't expect Maria to have also fallen victim to Wesley's charm as well. She was always known to be a picky eater.

"Not likely," Magnus shook his head as he interrupted their conversation. He had noticed Maria's eyes were bright and clear, while Christopher's eyes were the like of a dead fish during their battle.

"How unfortunate," Chief Kylo shook his head.

"Unfortunate?" Christopher's eyebrows rose as a tingling feeling in his chest immediately told him to run away.

Boom!

Good thing Christopher believed his intuition.

As the dust settled down, Christopher saw Magnus' fist land in front of where he was previously standing.

"What are you doing?!"

"Can't you see it clearly? We are eliminating you!"

"Why?"

"You've already fallen victim to Wesley's charm once, so there's no telling for certain when you'll suddenly betray us again,"

"That…" Christopher realized.

That was how dangerous Wesley's charm was.

It wasn't when Wesley suddenly took control of their body and consciousness that everyone was afraid of, it was the thought that he'd be able to continuously control them anytime he wanted.

Being alive and at the same time being dead.

It's that kind of feeling.

That was why when someone is known to have fallen victim to Wesley's charm, their only fate would either be killed or be treated like a plague by everyone else. In the end, they are forced to kill themselves or to submit to Wesley as that's the only place where people of similar experience as them would be able to understand their situation.

However, what the majority doesn't know is that choosing to submit to Wesley would actually mean they would have to join his army of Undead.

That's right!

Death!

Which is exactly the same as the first outcome.

There's practically no escape once someone falls victim to Wesley's charm.

Although, unlike the first outcome, they'll at least be reborn again. Albeit they'll be living as an Undead person.

This was the exact reason why Chief Kylo was very afraid of Wesley, and why he always made sure to keep an eye on the latter so that he wouldn't suddenly go on a rampage. Regretfully, it was proven ineffective as Wesley still betrayed the Assembly of Freedom, which brought disastrous effects to their organization as expected.

"I am sorry, it must be done," Magnus sighs before lunging himself towards Christopher once again. As he approaches, he waves his hand and takes out a spear from his Storage Ring.

<<Rising Inferno>>!

Whoosh!

A huge flame that formed into a giant eagle was released from Magnus' spear and right after traveled straight toward Christopher.

"I came here to redeem myself!" Christopher yelled out as he took out his sword to defend himself. This wasn't how he expected things to turn out to be.

"Your only way of redeeming yourself is through death!" Magnus uttered as he quickly made a follow-up. He suddenly swings his spear backward and a mechanism is activated which extends its reach.

<<Bull Release>>

Whoosh!

A cloud of dust exploded from Christopher's front.

Boom!

A huge blunt force unexpectedly hit Christopher's stomach.

"Ah!" Christopher coughed out a mouthful of saliva from his mouth. It was as if a bull directly hit him.

While Christopher retreated, the sharp point of the spear Magnus was holding appeared out from the cloud of smoke underneath his lower body.

Slit!

Luckily, Christopher was able to tilt his head on time, thus only slitting his left eye.

Christopher hurriedly retreated while clasping his left face where blood could be seen oozing out.

"Accept your fate, Christopher!" Magnus exclaimed.

Magnus quickly shortened his distance from Christopher and soon after that he launched a barrage of attacks towards the latter.

A series of piercing sounds echoed all over the place as Magnus thrust his spear continuously.

Meanwhile, Christopher performed his finest maneuvering in order to dodge all the attacks coming from Magnus and at the same time uses his sword to parry every now and then.

As Chief Kylo and the others looked behind Christopher, they instantly saw that the forest had been seemingly wiped clean by dozens of straight strokes which left wide and huge imprints on the ground below.

All of a sudden, Christopher finally decided to launch his counterattack against Magnus after finally being able to familiarize himself with the latter's fighting style.

Clang!

Bang!

Cling!

The scene instantly turned into a showdown between two powerful individuals.

Boom!

This time, loud explosions reverberated all across the place as Christopher and Magnus continued their exchange.

"As expected from the rank one and rank two in the Assembly Knights," Lecter can't help being amused as he witnesses the fight.

"Let's quickly distance ourselves," Patter quickly motioned his hand.

Hearing that, Chief Kylo, Lecter, and Patter swiftly distanced themselves so that they wouldn't accidentally get implicated in Christopher and Magnus' fight.
