Chapter 318 Christopher’s Fate Part 3

Chapter 318: Christopher's Fate Part 3

Already prepared, Christopher swiped with his sword in response.

Whoosh!

With Christopher's strength, he was easily able to cut the blade of the Undead soldier's rusty sword and shivered its head simultaneously.

Bang!

The Undead Soldier dropped to the ground. But it wasn't dead though. Using its hands where only a small part was still made out of flesh, it slowly crawled its way toward Christopher, digging out the dirt on its every pull.

"Disgusting!" Christopher muttered before stomping on its head. This was the reason why the Undead was still able to determine where he was.

The instant its head was destroyed, the Undead soldier was no longer able to determine where Christopher was as the latter jumped to the side and watched as the Undead soldier continued crawling towards his previous location.

"So, you want to play hard, eh!" Christopher was finally enraged. And quite timely enough, he is now presented with an outlet right in front of him.

Boom!

A series of explosions erupted as bits and pieces of bones started raining all over the army of the Undead.

Needless to say, Christopher wasn't just mindlessly destroying everything. In truth, he was carving a path towards the forest nearby so that he could get out of this place and continue along his journey to the Freedom City.

However, it was soon proven very difficult for Christopher as endless swarms of Undead soldiers blocked his path from approaching the forest any farther.

Realizing that his effort was going to be very hard to achieve, Christopher quickly decided on another approach. This time, instead of going into the forest, he looked for the thinnest part of the formation of the Undead army that he could use to breakthrough out from here.

Fortunately for Christopher, finding the thinnest part of the Undead army's formation exactly means his escape. And perfectly enough, it was situated to the north, where he was exactly going.

"He found it," Wesley smiled.

"We made him find it, after all," Kayn smiled.

Christopher finally broke through the Undead army's formation and without wasting any time, he speedily exited of the place and continued north.

"Of he goes," Gilbert muttered.

"Let's quickly catch up to him before he gets away and we end up not finding him anymore!" Jericho suggested.

Without any hesitation, everyone quickly jumped into the Undead army to hide their tracks and use them in order to prevent anyone from spotting their whereabouts. Unlike Christopher, the Undead soldiers don't dare to harm any of them.

Christopher might have boasted himself to seem to know where the exact location of the Freedom City was earlier. But in truth, he actually doesn't. As such, he didn't dare go that far away from the marching Undead army as he believes that the direction where they come from is the Freedom City.

Unbeknownst to Christopher, the Freedom City that he wanted to find was long already destroyed by the Undead Army, and what remains of it now is currently following after him just like Kayn and his squad.

"Here comes the hunter," Maria pointed out as she spotted Chief Kylo and his confidants jumping above the Undead army from the other side of the forest.

Just like what was planned, Chief Kylo, Magnus, Patter, and Lecter are also following Christopher without the latter's knowledge that he is being followed.

Similarly, Chief Kylo and his squad are also not aware that they are being followed by Kayn and his squad as well.

Simply put, the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.

However, unlike the original saying where the oriole eventually catches the mantis, this said oriole simply wanted to make sure that the mantis catches the cicada and eats it.

Christopher's speed was no joke, especially now that he knows the general location of where he is going.

The same also applies to Chief Kylo and his squad.

"If we allow this to continue, we'll eventually lose all of them," Seven warned.

Kayn naturally understood this as he is very aware of the overall strength of his squad.

Looking at Maria, Kayn ordered, "Maria, you can go ahead and we'll catch up to you,"

"Alright!" Maria nodded her head and left.

As the only level 50 of their party, Maria is their only hope of not losing the mantis and the cicada.

"Let's also try our best to follow them," Kayn further added.

The game of chasing after the unaware Christopher continued for more than two hours before everyone finally stopped.

They've reached their destination.

"What on Earth just happened here?!" Christopher uttered in shock as he stared with wide eyes at the remains of the place where once stood the great and thriving Freedom City.

"Did we perhaps lose the war?" Christopher was having trouble believing what he was seeing right now. With how he perceived the Assembly of Freedom, this outcome wasn't something he had expected.

"No, this couldn't be possible! Something definitely went wrong when I blanked out," Christopher started walking back and forth as he tried his best to analyze the likely scenario that took place in those blank pieces of his memory.

In the next moment, Christopher halted from his steps.

"Wesley!" Christopher instantly realized. "Did that idiot betray us?!"

Christopher easily arrived at the truth considering how Wesley put him in the middle of the forest and the sudden aggressive action of the latter's Undead army toward him.

All of a sudden…

"A pot calling a kettle black,"

"Chief Kylo?" Christopher hurriedly turned around and saw Chief Kylo, Magnus, Patter, and Lecter walking towards him.

"Oh, so you actually still view our leader as the Chief?" Lecter sneered.

"Even if that's the case, a traitor will still remain a traitor," Patter added.

"Me? A traitor?" Christopher thought he heard it incorrectly.

"Don't act like a fool, Christopher!" Magnus took one step forward and instantly arrived in front of Christopher. He pointed his finger at the latter's chest and continued, "You, along with Maria and Wesley betrayed the Assembly of Freedom, chased after Lecter and Patter, and brought a huge deal of damage to our army,"

"I would never do that!" Christopher exclaimed loudly.

"Well, you just did," Chief Kylo interjected.

"Wesley!" Christopher finally realized what exactly happened. "It was Wesley!"
