Chapter 312 The Fate of ‘The Bridge’ Part 3

Chapter 312: The Fate of 'The Bridge' Part 3

"What's happening over there?" Gilbert suddenly asked.

"It seems like Garvin finally made a decision," Kayn smiles triumphantly. This was exactly what he wanted to happen, Garvin picking to join the Green Horn City's side. Needless to say, he doesn't want the latter to truly become a member of Old Mayor George's army, but instead his group as he has big plans prepared for Garvin once they get out of 'The Bridge'.

"Decided what?" Friedrich can't help interrupting as he was intrigued by the second round of betrayal in this war. This time, a traitor has appeared in the ranks of the Assembly of Freedom.

"No one knows since they cast an isolation spell during their fight," Gilbert shrugged his shoulder.

Jericho and the others also expressed their ignorance as to what sort of deal Kayn and Garvin had agreed on. Needless to say, they are very interested in knowing about it as they want to know the method Kayn had pulled to make one of the powerhouses of the Assembly of Freedom betray their organization, knowing about that, they might be able to do the same in the future as well.

"I'll tell you all of you about it later," Kayn muttered. "In the meantime, let's focus on making our way back to the rest of our allies,"

"You guys can continue, I'll help Garvin," Friedrich suddenly volunteered and separated his way to head towards Garvin. In his mind, rather than asking Kayn who usually doesn't explain anything useful unless he feels like it, he'd just ask Garvin. It's the same thing.

"Alright…"

Gilbert and the others can only agree as Friedrich already left before they can even utter a single piece of response.

Kayn instantly understood what Friedrich intended to do, thus he smiled.

Friedrich's disappearance didn't really affect everyone's return that much. Almost the entire first squad of the Green Horn Knight still remains, and in addition to that the second and third squad is also present. And with the rest of the soldiers from the Green Horn City also fast approaching them, thus it didn't take long for everyone to get away from the dense crowd of men from the Assembly of Freedom and finally reach the safe zone.

Although it wasn't entirely safe yet since the war still continues. But this time, the tide is about to change once again.

"Wesley," Kayn turns to Wesley who had been fighting alongside everyone until now.

"Yes?" Wesley looks at Kayn.

"You can release your army,"

"Are you sure?" Wesley instantly became excited.

"I am sure," Kayn nodded.

"Okay!" Wesley acknowledged. He has been waiting all this time to finally release his hoards of Undead Soldiers and lay waste to the headquarters of the Assembly of Freedom. This was his only way to prove to Kayn his worth and show the latter what kind of use keeping him alive would bring to whatever Kayn is planning on doing in the future.

With that being said, Wesley closed his eyes to start awakening his hiding army of Undead.

There are close to five thousand Undead soldiers laying dormant underneath the Freedom City and it is impossible to activate them with just a simple snap of a finger.

Kayn left Wesley to the rear where it is the safest to do his own things while he and the rest would take care of the problem in front of them.

"Roshan, Emmet, kindly take care of the two squads from the Assembly of Freedom,"

"On it!" Roshan signaled the rest of his teammates before heading their way.

"Time to continue where we left off!" Emmet also did the same and separated from the main army.

"How about us?" Gilbert looks at Kayn.

"We'll take care of the deputies," Kayn responded.

At this moment, there are only four deputies left from the initial six, respectively there are two deputies from each Brigade. The reason is that the two missing deputies were slain earlier ago. Sadly, it didn't include Iken and Silas, the deputies of Garvin.

"I'll hand Iken, the rest of you handle the other three," Kayn ordered.

"I understand!"

Gilbert and the others immediately head forward.

Kayn soon followed after.

It wasn't that difficult to find the deputies as they would always cause the biggest commotion wherever they go.

After looking for a few minutes, Kayn finally found Iken, busily dealing against a dense crowd of soldiers from the Green Horn City. Evidently, the latter wants to kill as many enemy soldiers as possible so that their own men would have less weight on their shoulders.

Regretfully, Iken's action would soon be interrupted by Kayn.

"Iken!" Kayn immediately called out.

"Kayn!" Iken quickly turned to look at the familiar young man standing not that far away from him.

Without wasting a single second, Iken jumped right in Kayn's direction.

Clang!

Kayn easily parried the attack to the side. Iken had clearly rushed his slash, that's why it didn't pack that much force. Though he clearly understood that it was simply meant to greet him.

"How rude. You didn't even let me finish what I was about to say," Kayn stared eye to eye with Iken.

"I'm not really the type to talk from far away. So, you can tell me now if you like," Iken smiled.

"No need, you already know what I came here to do,"

"Clearly," Iken pushed his sword and jumped backward. After witnessing Kayn fighting against Garvin on equal ground, he no longer possesses a single inkling of underestimating the latter. If he isn't careful, it would spell death for him.

"Playing safe, are we?" Kayn smirked. "In that case, I'll play rough!"

Whoosh!

Kayn lunged forward and started launching a series of attacks toward Iken.

Clang!

Multiple sounds of metal hitting against metal echoed throughout the battlefield as Kayn and Iken both exchanged swords.

With two powerful individuals fighting, the dense crowd made up of soldiers from the Green Horn City and men from the Assembly of Freedom quickly dispersed to create an open space for Kayn and Iken to fight without any disruption and for them not to accidentally get implicated.

Regardless, the fight between the soldiers from the Green Horn City and men from the Assembly of Freedom still continued at the side.
