Chapter 311 The Fate of ‘The Bridge’ Part 2

Chapter 311: The Fate of 'The Bridge' Part 2

With Kayn and the other's appearance, the majority of members from the Assembly of Freedom decided to halt their assault on the Dream Village and turn their attention to them instead.

Even though they are fully aware of the fact that with their individual strength alone they will never be able to stop Kayn and the others. But with the combined effort of everyone, they are hoping to be able to kill them.

Hundreds of men from the Assembly of Freedom head their way toward Kayn and the others with weapons, magic, and whatever tools they can carry with the intent of blocking their way.

The ground shook as they approach, as if like countless monsters galloping their way toward a few men.

Boom!

Bang!

Unfortunately, however many come, the same exact number gets sent away to meet with their creator.

It was a futile attempt.

That was what the members of the Assembly of Freedom soon realized after sacrificing hundreds of their comrades.

Nevertheless, nobody thought of stopping from trying, except for the smart people like Garvin and the others who long already realized that it is inevitable for Kayn and the others to reach the Dream Village. Regardless, they still let their men continue with their actions because they are thinking of exhausting their stamina.

No matter how powerful a person is, they'll always have this one weakness that they will never be able to solve no matter what, and that is the problem with energy and stamina. Everyone gets tired, even Gods from the 'Tower' does as well. And the moment one gets tired, no matter how powerful they are, they're going to be helpless to do anything.

That is the strategy Garvin and the others wanted to achieve.

And it was proven to be very effective as the approach of Kayn and the others started slowing down the closer they get to the Dream Village.

This is the best attempt for the Assembly of Freedom's side in hoping that the war will continue in their favor.

Still, there's a problem that remains for them.

Needless to say, the people from the Green Horn City's side weren't just watching as Kayn and the others make their way toward them.

They sent men to carve a path in front in order to lessen the burden and also make sure that nobody else other than the cannon fodders of the Assembly of Freedom can attack Kayn and the others.

The siege machines on top of the Dream Village wall and the levitating Green Horn City also hinder more cannon fodders from approaching. In this way, they'll be able to steadily control the number of inflows and counter the strategy of Garvin and the others to some degree.

"Should we help?" Moei can't help asking.

"We have to stay put," Marlon shook his head as he pointed towards the three Chiefs who are focusing their attention on them. "Once we make a move, they'll make a move as well,"

"I understand," Moei nodded.

Contrary to the two leaders, Garvin was thinking differently. In his mind right now, he wanted to help Kayn and the others instead.

Even though the Green Horn City's side suffered a huge amount of damage during the time Kayn and the others were away, Garvin is fully aware that the Assembly of Freedom doesn't hold any sort of genuine advantage against them.

Garvin's reason for believing that is the fact that the Assembly Knights still haven't made their appearance yet. Close to an hour has already passed, and yet there are still no signs of them, even just a single one of their members. He is certain that something must have happened to them, and considering Wesley is now in the side of the Green Horn City, he can't help but assumed that a few more have also defected.

With that thought in mind, Garvin could already see that the Assembly of Freedom isn't only being defeated from the outside, they are also being slowly corroded on the inside. And all of this was only possible because of one single person.

Kayn!

Garvin stares at Kayn and finally decided to make a choice.

"This young man's potential is unmeasurable. If I let this opportunity slip by the tip of my finger, there's no telling whether another chance like this will present itself to me again," Garvin muttered silently. Instead of thinking about the war, he'd rather think of what will benefit him the most. And as he can see right now, allying with Kayn proves to be the best option to choose.

As a new light of fire lit up brightly inside Garvin's heart, he tightly held his sword and looked at Moei and Marlon. Inside his mind, he is thinking about which of the two men proves to be the most fatal to the Assembly of Freedom when taken care of.

"Garvin?" Marlon felt a foreboding feeling coming from Garvin.

"I am sorry, Marlon, but you'll have to die," Garvin uttered as he brandished his sword.

Slit!

A sizeable vertical slash wound appeared on Marlon's chest as he was barely able to evade Garvin's sudden attack.

Moei quickly raised his spear in order to block the next attack coming from Garvin.

Clang!

"Don't tell me you've been affected by Wesley's Gift?!" Moei expressed his thoughts.

"Not likely," Marlon shook his head as he grabbed his spear and prepared himself. "He has decided to betray us,"

"Betray us?" Moei was in disbelief. They are clearly winning this war, so why would Garvin suddenly decide to betray them?

"You two just don't understand," Garvin felt pity at the duo for being ignorant.

"Then tell us so that we can understand!" Marlon lunged himself forward to counterattack.

Clang!

Garvin easily evaded.

However, Marlon's attack opened a window of opportunity for Moei to finally go into full assault mode.

Whoosh!

Garvin quickly jumped backward to dodge Moei's attack.

At this moment, Garvin realized that he has lost his only chance to launch a surprise attack on Marlon and eliminate him. His only option left now is to either run away or continue fighting in order to prove to Kayn his worth. He strongly believes that the latter's proposition for him still stands.
