Chapter 307 The War that Decides the Fate of 'The ?Bridge' Part 110

Chapter 307: The War that Decides the Fate of 'The Bridge' Part 110

Out of nowhere, another group of ragtag criminals came out from the nearby small marshland to the west; it became that way because of the aftermath of the huge tidal wave Kayn has created.

"Ambush to the west!" Old Mayor George roared out a warning.

"Let us handle them!" Kayn quickly volunteered himself along with his group.

Kayn, Gilbert, Jude, Charles, Jericho, and Wesley immediately separated from the main group and went ahead to face the newly arriving party from the Assembly of Freedom.

"Isn't this strange? More and more men from the Assembly of Freedom seem to be arriving at the battlefield," Gilbert can't help noticing.

"The main army probably left them behind," Wesley responded.

"Is that based on your own experience?" Jericho muttered in a joking manner. After a few interactions with Wesley, he now comes to slowly accept the latter as a part of their team.

"Yes," Wesley nodded. "We always do this so that whenever we feel the need to retreat, we'll be luring our enemy to a trap,"

"Chief Kylo is the leader of the Assembly of Freedom for a reason," Kayn can't help saying in a remark. To tell the truth, this is his first time experiencing such a strategy. Normally, the leader would purposely make some of their member lay in ambush behind them, while Chief Kylo on the other hand calculated the arrival of the men he left behind so that they'd become an ambush.

"Anyways, they're here!" Kayn changed the topic.

<<Hundred Shadow Cut>>

Instantly, exactly one hundred shadow daggers appeared hovering up above Kayn's head and followed before him as he continued heading to his enemies.

"It seems like Kayn would be hard carrying us once again," Gilbert chuckled.

"Less work for us," Jericho added before racking the slide to chamber bullets to his gun.

"Does this usually happen, based on your own experience?" Wesley wanted to get back on Jericho for his joke just now.

"As a part of Kayn's team, we do leave most of the work to him,"

"Doesn't he normally do the planning?"

"It is in the planning where most things already happen,"

That's right. Whenever Kayn makes a plan, he already predicts most of the events that would likely take place. Because of that, all they have to do is execute the countermeasures they've already thought of beforehand and only worry about the sudden changes that divert away from their original plan.

In other words, most of the work was already done by Kayn prior to the event taking place.

With a wave of Kayn's hand, the one hundred shadow daggers finally flew out of their way to their respective targets.

Whoosh!

Slit!

In the next moment, dozens of bodies started dropping down on the muddy ground, either lifeless or seriously injured after unluckily getting caught by the shadow daggers.

Within a matter of a few seconds, nearly a hundred men died from the barrage of the <<Hundred Shadow Cut>>.

"More than what we expected," Gilbert said in a remark before disappearing from his spot.

The next time Gilbert appeared, he was already in the center of the enemy's formation, slitting the through of one unlucky man.

"Holy!" Wesley was caught by surprise. But next his eyes turned serious as he doesn't want to be left behind.

All of a sudden, some of the men started attacking the teammates beside them.

"It seems like it is true that you have men under your control everywhere," Jericho nodded at Wesley in approval before starting to rain bullets on the men in front of him.

Bang! Bang!

Men started dropping into the ground after getting headshot by Jericho.

"Wyvern Inferno!"

Whaaash!

A huge head of a Wyvern hurled towards the incoming men. It opened its mouth and consumed everything that dared to block its way, burning the unlucky men, before eventually disappearing.

Boom!

Dozens of men started flying everywhere as Charles charged straight into their formation with the intent of providing support to Gilbert who is currently fending for his life all alone in the center.

These men might not be strong, but with their huge advantage in numbers, it doesn't prove any easier for Kayn's group.

"Shields!" One of the men roared out loudly.

Bang!

Dozens of Guardians swiftly made a wall using their shields.

"I'll take care of him!" Jericho aimed his gun at the leader.

Whoosh!

<<Molten Magma Slash>>

Kayn releases a sword wave to clear out the way for Jericho.

Even though they were Guardians, they were still helpless against Kayn's powerful <<Molten Magma Slash>>, thus killing a bunch of them who were standing in the way.

With a path cleared out, Jericho now has their leader in his sight. Honestly, they've been looking for this person from the start and all of their actions until now were simply meant to lure him out.

Bang!

The leader immediately dropped dead.

Noticing that their leader is now gone, the rest of the men started panicking as they don't know what to do next. They were like headless chickens, completely clueless of the direction they are going.

Needless to say, Kayn's group doesn't want to waste this opportunity. As such, they started killing everyone as if simply cutting weeds from the ground.

Realizing that this is no different from throwing their lives away, the remaining men eventually decided to run and abandon the fight.

With that, Kayn's group finally succeeded in subduing the reinforcement of the Assembly of Freedom.

However, instead of being happy, their faces darken as they watched Old Mayor George kneeling on the ground with blood oozing out of his stomach.

Standing in front of Old Mayor George was Chastine, holding a bloodied short sword in her hand while wearing a crazed expression on her beautiful face.

"What did you do?!" Jericho immediately pointed his gun at Wesley.

"This is not my doing!" Wesley raised his hand quickly as he glimpses at Kayn, hoping the latter would vouch for him.

"He's right, this is not Wesley's doing, neither is it my doing," Kayn's face turned solemn.
