Chapter 366 - Black Iron Feathered Lightning Eagle! - Part 1
Alex carefully entered the cave after activating his bloodline ability to become invisible. Alex also suppressed his aura to the maximum, which would make it almost impossible for the Demon Beast to sense him.
It was also a challenge for Alex, but he thought of staying and giving it a try.
As he walked deeper into the cave, Alex found himself walking over bones and carcasses of various Demon Beasts. He had to carefully tread over them so that he didn't make any noise and alert the resident of this cave of his intrusion. Though the pressure was immense inside the cave, it was almost nonexistent for Alex had he did not felt any suppression.
The difference between their bloodline grade was too vast after all.
After taking two slight turns, Alex came across a sizeable enclosed cavity that was big enough to house a plane.
It was dark, but Alex could easily see due to his sharp eyesight and spiritual sense.
Standing in the distance, Alex looked at the rock where the Demon Beast was.
He sensed it carefully.
Under the darkness, he could see a large creature over three meters in size.
Alex waited quietly.
He had already entered the Caragan Forest for four hours, and though the time was tight, he could not afford to be careless when facing a Rank 4 Demon Beast.
'It's an eagle,' Alex exclaimed in his mind as he figured out the characteristics of the Demon beast.
Alex wanted to find Flying-type Demon Beast for a long time. It's not that they are rare; it's just that most of them are small in size and not capable of carrying a human on their back over long distances or any at all.
There was another thing that Alex noticed about the Eagle. It wasn't just any ordinary flying Demon beast. The blue sparks that spewed out and crackled all over its body showed the type of element it had awakened.
'Perfect! If I could tame him, then with the help of the Origin of Lightning, both of us could benefit tremendously because of the bond.' Alex thought in his mind.
Alex became more and more determined to get this Lightning Eagle.
Anahita and Plum also showed themselves and quietly stood beside Alex.
They also sensed a powerful Demon beast on the other side.
Alex reminded them telepathically not to make any sudden movements and stay close to him.
'The lighting Eagle is preparing to sleep. I should wait for a while and see if there is any suitable opportunity.'
After an hour or so, in Alex's senses, he heard a faint snore.
"It's almost time!"
The massive thunderbird's head gradually lay down, indicating that it had fallen asleep.
Alex was waiting for this moment.
If it did not fall asleep, he would wait until the other party fell asleep.
If one wanted to beat the strong as the weak, one had to find an extremely good opportunity.
Half an hour passed by just like that.
However, Alex still did not make a move immediately.
The reason was simple.
Alex thought deeper.
Alex wanted to wait for another half an hour to see if it really had fallen asleep.
Just like that, they waited for another half an hour.
The opportunity was fleeting; therefore, Alex slowly walked over to the Eagle's resting place. He wanted to come as close as possible to the Demon Beast before lunging towards its head.
Just as Alex closed the distance to one meter and raised his hands to place on top of the Eagle's head, he saw the goblin-like ears of the Eagle jerk upwards.
Unfortunately, the Eagle seemed to have very high alertness of its surroundings even if it was asleep.
"It's awake?"
Alex's expression did not change, as if he had already expected this.
Its azure eyes seemed to search for the attacker in the surroundings.
"For this beast to wake up so quickly, it must have instinctively felt that it was in danger."
One shouldn't underestimate the instincts of a Demon beast, especially a higher-order Demon Beast.
Even if they lost consciousness and were sleeping, their combat instincts could allow them to sense danger ahead of time.
Alex wasn't slow; he punched hard on the forehead of the Eagle to jolt its brain for a second before flooding his spiritual sense into its head.
This action also dismissed Alex's invisibility and made him appear in front of the Eagle's eyes. freeweb(n)ovel
Though the earlier strike caused the Demon Beast to lose focus for a moment, it wasn't much to keep him immobile for more than a second. Not to mention, the spiritual sense of Rank 4 Demon Beast is quite strong; therefore, Alex couldn't use the same trick as he had done with the others.
"How dare you, you puny human!!" An angry roar sounded in Alex's mind. Intelligent demon Beast could communicate with others using its strong spiritual sense. The communication was all based on intent, so even if a demon Beast hasn't come across a human, it could still talk and understand each other with the help of the Spiritual power.
Alex's brows twitched because the angry roar that he heard was actually sounded feminine. The Eagle in front of him was, in fact, a female, and she called him puny human. Though it did not make him angry, no one can ever say he is puny.
Alex took back his right hand and smashed another punch on the Eagle's head with his left. This time he also channeled the Roaring Tiger Technique to bypass the stout defense of the Eagle.
