270 The Wolf And The Girl

After leaving the He family manor, He Miao was about to drive away with Jing Yan when she saw Xia Yan talking to someone at the door.

He Miao was about to go up and greet her, but Jing Yan grabbed her arm firmly.

“Don’t go.” Jing Yan looked down and pulled her into the parking lot in the opposite direction. He explained to He Miao in a soft voice, “The man who was talking to Xia Yan just now was Chen Zheng.”

He Miao’s heart skipped a beat. “Isn’t that the boyfriend that Xia Yan was forced to break up with in the past, the founder of the new company, Morning Fragrance, Chen Zheng?”

Jing Yan looked at her and knew that she knew about their past. He sighed and touched her soft hair. “You’ve done well in getting Xia Yan to cooperate with you. Xia Yan is a reliable person. At least she’s not as rigid as her mother.”

“You know her very well?” He Miao asked curiously with her head tilted.

Jing Yan chuckled and shook his head. “We’re all competitors in the same circle. How can we not know each other’s background?”

“Oh,” He Miao replied softly, then lowered her head to look at her toes.

It was not the first time she wore high heels, but it was rare for her to wear them this high. The stylist had really worn her feet out in order to match the dress she was wearing today.

“It hurts?” Jing Yan bent down nervously to pick up her legs. He took off her shoes and carefully examined her feet on her legs.

Jing Yan’s heart ached when he saw the blisters on her toes. He quickly told the driver to drive home because he had to deal with the blisters himself.

He Miao did not try to be bashful and put her feet on his lap. She could not help but complain, “I didn’t expect it to be so tiring. If I had known, I would have rejected the stylist’s suggestion.”

“Idiot, why are you wearing them so high? Even if you’re wearing slippers, you’ll still be the most beautiful treasure of the entire party.” Jing Yan gently lifted her little feet to check if there were any blisters elsewhere.

He Miao jested and pushed him, saying in amusement, “Don’t talk nonsense. Who wears slippers to a party? And didn’t I treat the blisters on your hands? Mine isn’t serious, I’ll be fine in a few days.”

Jing Yan’s hand that was holding her foot paused for a moment. His long and thick eyelashes drooped slightly, leaving a shadow under his eyes. “Yes, you’ve recovered quite quickly.”

He Miao felt that his words were hinting at something. She frowned slightly, subconsciously suspecting that he had noticed something.

When she looked up again, there was only heartache in Jing Yan’s eyes. “You’re not allowed to wear this kind of high heels next time. I’ll find those stylists to settle the score later.”

“Don’t. It’s not their fault. They asked for my opinion.” He Miao didn’t want to trouble others because of her mistake, so she quickly tried to stop him.

After being teased by Jing Yan, she really forgot to check whether Jing Yan had suspected that she had a system.

When the driver arrived at the apartment building, Jing Yan naturally would not let He Miao walk on her own. He personally carried her to the bed in the bedroom and carefully reminded her not to move around before he turned to get the first aid kit.

Jing Yan seemed to always have endless care and patience when dealing with He Miao. He applied the medicine with the lightest hand, and He Miao did not feel any pain.

After putting away the first aid kit, Jing Yan walked to the closet and asked her which clothes she wanted to change into.

He Miao pointed at the innermost nightgown and said with a ruddy face, “I’ll take this. You can give it to me.”

Jing Yan took the pajamas and stuffed them into her hands. He leaned over and pressed her down on the bed with a smirk. “Why are you so nervous? I didn’t say that I’m going to help you change your clothes.”

“You, you, you, get out. Don’t make a scene.” Seeing that she could not move him, He Miao suddenly had an idea. She furrowed her brows and her face was full of pain. “It hurts! You’re touching the wound on my foot!”

“I’m sorry!” Jing Yan apologized without thinking and got up to check the blisters on her feet. From the corner of his eye, he saw the little girl on the bed with her neckline slightly open. She slowly straightened her body and stared at him with a smug expression. Only then did he realize that he had been deceived by her.

Jing Yan narrowed his eyes dangerously. He was not in a hurry to leave. He knelt on the bed with one knee and gently pinched her jaw. His eyes were involuntarily attracted to her delicate collarbones. “You’ve got guts to lie to me. See how I’ll punish you.”

He Miao tilted her head and stared at him, not to be outdone. She smiled provocatively and said, “What are you going to do to me?”

After spending so much time together, He Miao knew Jing Yan’s temper.

The man in front of her was worthy of her trust. He would not touch her rashly before he married her. Otherwise, He Miao would not dare to let a wolf into his house even if he had a hundred guts.

Unfortunately, Jing Yan was a wolf, a wolf that had been hungry for a long time and was full of wildness.

It was just that the wolf was trying its best to suppress its desire to tear its prey apart and eat it. It lingered on her lips with a light taste, and its manic heartbeat declared that the beast in its chest was about to break out of its cage.

However, he would always maintain his last bit of rationality for He Miao.

He had promised her that he would not touch her before they got married, and he would keep his promise.
