255 Taking Back Onion

Yeh Luo’s face paled instantly. She looked guiltily at the butler who was pretending not to hear anything and muttered timidly, “I, I forgot. I’ll go and change into a suitable set of clothes now.”

When she turned around, Yeh Luo’s eyes were filled with tears. The butler saw this and sighed. He slowly asked, “Master, are we really going to bring Miss Yeh and Madam Liu back with us?”

From his point of view, the two of them had nothing to do with He Chen. There was no need for him to bring them back to China. Would it not be better to just leave them here?

He Chen did not say anything. He raised his hand and knocked on the left armrest of his wheelchair.

The butler immediately turned his wheelchair and pushed him to the left side of the path, walking into the depths of Hundred Flowers.

As if he wanted to imprint these flowers, which he had painstakingly grown, into the depths of his heart along with someone else, He Chen looked at them especially carefully. After a while, he replied in a deep voice, “I have to. I’ll feel better when I see her.”

Yeh Luo was not his daughter, but he had taken care of her for many years. He had given her whatever she wanted, all for the sake of her face that resembled an old friend.

It was not until the weather turned warm that Jing Yan brought He Miao to the vet to visit Onion as promised.

The little guy had completely recovered. The vitality of animals was always more tenacious than that of humans. The wounds that looked scary could be healed in a short time.

Finally seeing its owner, Onion pounced on He Miao excitedly and struggled to get a hug.

Jing Yan was afraid that it would touch the wound on He Miao’s shoulder if it moved, so he bent down and took the puppy into his arms. He moved closer to He Miao so she could pat the dog’s head.

Chen Zhao could be considered to have relieved another heavy burden on his shoulders. He leaned against the wall outside the ward and smiled with his eyes closed.

Tao Xin stared at the ugly dog in Jing Yan’s arms with disdain and could not help but say, “Why do you have to keep such a dog? There are so many expensive breeds of dogs waiting for people to raise them. This one is not worthy of President Jing.”

Chen Zhao quickly came back to his senses and covered her mouth, thinking that she just did not understand the situation. He explained seriously in a low voice, “That’s not President Jing’s dog. It’s Miss He’s pet. It’s Miss He’s favorite. President Jing loves Miss He, so he treasures it as well. Don’t talk nonsense. Be careful not to make President Jing unhappy.”

Tao Xin frowned and pulled his hand away impatiently. She glared at him and almost cursed out loud. For the sake of her plan, she had to endure it and put on a pitiful expression. She apologized to him pitifully, “I’m sorry, Brother Chen. I didn’t mean to say that.”

Chen Zhao waved his hand and did not mind. He pulled her to the side and asked carefully, “Do you want to have dinner together after work tonight?”

Tao Xin did not want to deal with Chen Zhao, but she also did not want to make Chen Zhao suspicious before she caught Jing Yan, the big fish. So, she could only suppress the frustration in her heart, nod, and smile sweetly. “Sure. Brother Chen, what do you want to eat? I will go with you.”

Chen Zhao patted her head affectionately and smiled. “Then I’ll take you to a newly opened western restaurant. Don’t you like to eat steak? I heard that the steak there is very delicious.”

“Alright.” Tao Xin’s interest was finally piqued. Anyway, there was a stupid man who was eager to spend money on her. She had no reason to refuse.

In the ward, Jing Yan put down Onion that was in the way, took He Miao’s hand, and said with a smile, “If I don’t look at your wound, how am I supposed to know if you’re really fit to be discharged?”

“You can ask the doctor!” He Miao glared at him, then walked to the chair and sat down, deciding to ignore him.

Jing Yan quickly followed her and pulled her up from the cold chair. He casually picked up a cushion and placed it on her before helping her sit down. He said slowly, “The doctor said that it’s best for you to continue staying in the hospital.”

“But I’m really fine now!” He Miao did not want to stay in the hospital all the time. The stitches on the wound had started to fall off. She just had to be careful not to get wet when she got home and slowly recuperate. She wanted to go home and accompany Onion.

The little thing had never been away from her for so long, and she could not bear to leave it alone at home.

How could Jing Yan not know what she was thinking? He could not help but sigh. “Then let me see your wound. If I think you’re fine, I’ll take you home, okay?”

The wound was on her shoulder, so there was nothing to hide. However, if she wanted to show it to him, she would have to unbutton her shirt. He Miao was a little conservative, and she felt embarrassed to do this in front of him.

He Miao’s fair and tender face blushed as he thought of something. She bit his lower lip and said with difficulty, “Do you want to check it here?”

Jing Yan could not help but laugh at her foolishness. He reached out and flicked her forehead. how can you be here? Let’s go back to the hospital first.”

“What about Onion.” He Miao glanced at the puppy on the ground, reluctant to leave.

Jing Yan sighed deeply and compromised with her helplessly. “Okay, okay, okay, we’ll take him with us, but let him stay in the car when we reach the hospital later. We’ll do a checkup first.”
