Chapter 18: Giving A Card

Jing Yan's eyes fell on the card in his hand.

The girl on the campus card had an uncouth and ugly smile, and her looks were also unsightly. It seemed that she was really far from the He Miao of today.

How did she change so much?

Jing Yan frowned, snatched the school card, and put it in his pocket without a second thought.

"What are you doing?" Mu Xiao looked at him doubtfully. "Are you planning to return it to her personally?" freewebnov(e)l

"Who said I'm returning it to her? I still have things to do, so you can go back by yourself." Jing Yan said coldly and left without looking back.

In front of classroom 403 on the fourth floor of Building B, a serious-looking middle-aged woman with glasses stood in front of the girl.

This is the examination venue for our Fragrance and Perfumes major. You're not a student of this major, so you can't enter."

"Teacher, I'm really here for the exam. I'm a student who's going to transfer to this major." He Miao was so anxious that a thin layer of sweat appeared on her forehead. However, no matter how she rummaged through her bag, she could not find the school card she needed for the exam.

"Then please show me your student ID or school card to prove your identity. Otherwise, I can't let you take the exam." The teacher looked sternly at the red-faced student in front of her.

He Miao lowered her head and explained apologetically, "I left my student ID at home, and I can't find my school card... Teacher, can you make an exception and let me in?"

"No." The teacher frowned and looked at her unhappily. "You don't have any proof of your identity. How can I be sure that you're a student of this school? What if you were hired by someone else? How am I going to explain this to the school leaders?"

"Alright then. Teacher, I'll go back to the classroom to look for it now. Can you give me some time?" He Miao looked at the clock on the wall anxiously. There were only five minutes left before the exam started. She would not make it if she returned to the classroom.

"Alright," he said. The teacher relented, but his tone was still cold. "I'll give you ten minutes at most, or you won't be allowed to take the exam."

"Alright, teacher." He Miao nodded gratefully, then ran down the stairs.

Jing Yan asked around all the way until he found the floor for the examination. He was wondering why that woman chose to take such an unpopular course when he was caught off guard and was bumped into by a figure. He lost his balance and kept falling.

Fortunately, he was fast enough to grab the handrail, or they would have rolled down the stairs together!

"Don't you have eyes?" Jing Yan roared in exasperation. Are you in a hurry to die?"

He Miao was shocked as well. She grabbed the collar of the man in front of her nervously, but only reacted when he shouted at her. She quickly let go and pushed him away, lowering her head apologetically. "I'm sorry, I'm in a hurry. I'll take my leave first."

"Wait," Jing Yan grabbed her arm quickly. He exerted a little force and forced her to look up at him.

He Miao was stunned when she saw this. Were they enemies on a narrow road? She actually bumped into this person.

"Let go." He Miao turned her head away, not wanting to talk to him anymore.

Jing Yan was irritated by her attitude and became angry. He grabbed her arm and refused to let go. He looked at her smugly and said provocatively, "You're in such a hurry. Is it because the teacher doesn't want you? You can only run home in shame and anger?"

"What nonsense are you spouting?" He Miao tried her best to pull her arm back, her face red. "Jing Yan, I have an emergency. Let go of me."

This attitude was more like it.

Jing Yan let go of her hand, but he turned around and stepped forward to block her way.

He Miao controlled her temper and looked at his unreasonable behavior. "What else do you want?"

Jing Yan suddenly fell silent for a moment, then asked without thinking, "Hey, you didn't change your major because of me, did you?" freewebno(v)el

"No." He Miao answered him indifferently, then looked at the stairs behind him. "Can I go now?"

"Alright." Jing Yan stepped aside and said indifferently, "I really hope I won't see you again."

He Miao ignored him and was about to go downstairs when she was stopped in his tracks by the school card in front of her. "Is that why you're here? You stole it?"

"I picked it up and you mistook my kindness for ill intentions." Jing Yan returned to his usual cold expression. He handed the card to her and casually walked downstairs. Before he left, he did not forget to say, "Ugly woman, this photo of you is really ugly."

He Miao stared at his back speechlessly. In the end, she decided to treat him like air and turned to walk into the exam hall hurriedly.
