"Want to be my woman?" Xander asked.
The question slipped from his lips as he looked into Selena's blue eyes and he could see how those eyes conveyed surprise before shining even brighter as the girl jumped at him and hugged him tightly, giving him the most beautiful smile Xander had ever seen.
At first Xander wanted to take those words back, but then he realized that he didn't regret it at all.
Maybe it was a casual question, but he really did ask it.
"Of course. Do you still need to ask? You were mine from the start," Selena said in a very possessive tone. Well, it couldn't be faulted because it was the nature of a shifter, especially when you were a lycan.
Xander then hugged Selena tighter and lowered his face, he then saw how the girl closed her eyes, waiting for what would happen with anticipation.
Selena's face looked so cute and when her eyes were closed, and from this close, Xander could see how thick and long her eyelashes were. Her tiny, rosy-looking lips parted slightly, tempting Xander to feel what those lips would taste like.
However, Xander didn't do what Selena expected, he just touched the tip of his nose with Selena's and laughed softly, before letting go of the girl's body.
"Let's go inside, it's cold outside," Xander said. He then let go of Selena's arms and made the girl open her eyes in annoyance.
"What? No kisses for me?!" she grumbled as she stomped her feet on the floor and followed Xander into the room.
However, as soon as Selena closed the door behind her and had locked it, she felt Xander's hand touch her waist and her body quickly turned around and faced Xander.
Now, Selena's body was wedged between the door and the man's body, towering in front of her.
Xander looked at Selena deeply, he then put his finger under Selena's chin and made the girl lift her head and look at him.
And slowly, Xander leaned in to kiss Selena's cheek, tracing the girl's jaw with his lips while hugging her tightly.
Selena could feel her heart beating really fast, as if it was trying to burst out of her chest cavity, while Xander was torturing her with his slow maneuvers.
Xander seemed to want to feel every inch of Selena's body and he couldn't find her lips and it made Selena even more frustrated when the man kissed her neck and made her body tremble.
"Don't move," Xander whispered against Selena's neck and made her breath catch even more, but it only made Xander smile, a mischievous and genuine smile, which he had shown after a long time of not smiling like that.fr(e)ewebn(o)vel
Selena groaned when she realized that Xander was actually toying with her. She clenched her jaw tightly and deftly turned things around.
Xander didn't realize it until it happened, he didn't expect that Selena could do that.
And now, it was Xander who was wedged between the door and Selena's body, while the girl smirked with satisfaction.
"You think I'm a cute girl who can't do anything?" Her eyes challenged Xander. Her father and brother were more than enough to teach her how to protect herself.
Only, this time, Selena wasn't protecting herself, she was just showing her dominance in front of Xander.
Too bad, instead of feeling dominated, Xander found Selena's defiance very cute.
"I never said you can't do anything," Xander said. "But you are really cute."
After saying that, Xander leaned in again, and this time he gave Selena what she wanted.

Selena would always spend her free time with Xander, doing various things that the two of them loved doing, or just lying in Selena's apartment. The girl simply loved watching her mate fast asleep by her side.
It was a simple thing, but Selena liked it very much, she felt at ease when Xander was around her and vice versa.
Xander didn't think that he could have a relationship like this with Selena and there was nothing for him to hide.
But, on the other hand, being close to Selena actually helped him become calmer and more able to control his powers.
Whenever he felt like he was about to lose control, Xander would think of Selena and he would calm down.
Selena said that it was because of the mate bond between them, but Xander just didn't believe it.
He did not trust the mate bond, because the affection he felt for the girl was a real thing.
He loved to look at Selena's face when she was asleep or how she sulked to him when she wanted something and Selena always had a different wish every day.
And one of the many things they love was riding motorbikes along the coastline, feeling the breeze blowing on their faces and kissing at sunset.
And today was one such day. The two of them drove to the beach and waited for the sun to set.
These two months were exciting and Xander had to admit that these were the best two months of his life.
"I'll buy a drink first," Xander said, smiling and kissing Selena's forehead, before he left, leaving the girl still sitting on the motorbike.
"Okay," Selena replied happily, but not long after Xander left, she saw her mate's cell phone ringing and recognized the caller.
At first, Selena just let the phone be, but then she saw Ronan calling again, she picked up the phone and waved it at Xander who was in the distance.
Understanding what Selena was trying to say, Xander gestured for her to pick up the call.
"Hello?" Selina said.
"Selena?"
"Yeah, Xander is…" Selena didn't have time to finish her sentence when Ronan cut her off.
"Selena, tell Xander that members of Daryl's group are coming to kill him, they came in a white van and they know where you are!" Ronan cried frantically.
And just at that moment, Selena saw the white van that Ronan had mentioned. The car window opened and a rifle could be seen from the open window, aiming at Xander who didn't even notice the danger that was targeting him.
Selena wouldn't be able to reach Xander in her human form, so without a second thought, she jumped up and turned into her white beast.
The white beast ran very fast and positioned itself between the gun and its mate.
