Silence reigned for quite some time as everyone was expecting for the subsequent reaction of Master Cui, who seemed to be enraged to the limit.
A damned brat of the young generation actually dared to outsmart him, kill his people, and even humiliate him later. It was most certainly a great slap to his face, something he couldn't accept.
"Huuuu~! I swear I will make that bastard have a worse death than his own father!"
It was only after a few moments that finally Master Cui seemed to have relaxed a bit, as he took a deep breath, and then said in a low and calm voice.
The content of these words wasn't much different from the one he had previously stated in his enraged state, but this time it was much scarier.
On top of that, from what he just said one could easily insinuate that Master Cui had something to do with Cui Xie's father's death, his own blood brother.
Yet, even if they understood this much, none of the people gathered in there dared to voice their thoughts or displeasure. They could only lower their heads and await for next instructions.
"Huuuu~! Well, since this matter has already gotten out of hand, I don't think that we can postpone our plan any longer!
Proceed with Purge!"
Once again taking a deep breath Master Cui seemed to have calmed down by quite a bit, as he finally made a decision and gave his order.
"Yes, Master!"
Once again, out of nowhere a human voice responded to the intentions of Master Cui, this time carrying a much deeper killing intent.
Whoever that man in the shadows was, he was as displeased with what just happened as his Master was, and it seemed like he didn't want anything more than to release all the anger and rage inside his heart.
Only a small part of the people inside that room understood what this order meant, but even the rest could easily understand that it was nothing good.
The connotations that the word 'purge' itself contained made this matter look extremely dark and terrible.

'Why…'

Just as the people who had no idea of what was going on were thinking about what would happen now, they started hearing screams of pain and anguish from the outside.
There weren't only one or two people screaming, but many. Not only that, but just from the high pitch, and their intonation the people inside could somewhat understand what was going on outside.
Understanding didn't mean believing though!
After all, how could one believe that the Master of the Family was actually slaughtering and massacring people from his own family?
It just didn't make sense!
Logic and reason didn't accept this as a plausible case.

Just as the people who had no prior idea of the matter, were contemplating whether it was possible or not, they suddenly started releasing some unexpected moans, as they felt their vitality run out of their bodies.
The purge was exactly as the word implied, complete disappearance of any possible threats to Master Cui's reign to the Cui Family, including ancestors and descendants of the Cui Family.
Truly ruthless!
Since his opponents had never even imagined that Master Cui would do something like this, they were caught unprepared.
In but a short minute a majority of the targets and their immediate bloodlines had been extinguished, and whatever remained was slowly facing the same treatment as well.
Master Cui's forces managed to strike hard and quickly. The only ones who were more capable of resisting and putting in some effort were the ancestors and strong figures.
But even they had been gravely injured and damaged by the first strike of their counterparts. After all, who would have expected that all of a sudden his brother would land a critical hit on them?
Of course, they tried their best, as they even burned their vitality to resist and strike back, only to find that the effects were much different from expected.

The answer and reason were extremely simple, they were poisoned! It looked like Master Cui and his helpers had been planning and waiting for this for a long long time.
The Patriarch of the Cui Family watched as his sons, nephews, and brothers were falling one after the other, and he aged by more than a few centuries immediately.
Only Gods and Immortals could understand how his son had actually convinced him to cause such a massacre to his own family. It was just unthinkable.
At that moment, something even crazier seemed to happen, as even those guys that were able to reach the threshold of the Cui Family Mansion and thought that they had a chance to escape started getting massacred.
The ones responsible for this weren't any longer Master Cui's forces, but some wild, brutal, and scary unknown experts.
As part of a great family, and even more importantly the Head of his own family, how could Master Cui actually take the blame and responsibility for such a massacre?
He had already made all the preparations in order to 'throw' such a matter in the direction of the new system experts, and more importantly his dear nephew Cui Xie.
Everything was ready and was being executed to perfect details. No matter how astounded and quick they tried to escape, a majority of the coming experts were upon seeing the inside of the Cui Family Mansion were, they had no chance.
This was bound to become an extremely bloody and fearsome night for the Cui Family, as the World for the next few months would call it the 'Bloody Massacre'.

The next day, while the news of the happenings at the Long Family Mansion, and the Cui Families had already blasted into existence, with many people participating in the rumors, Master Cui announced their retreat to seclusion.
According to his words, the current Cui Family was too feeble, frightened, and weak so he could only take the remaining members of the Family and find a place in seclusion to live while 'licking' their wounds.
It seemed like the Cui Family seemed to have no intention of participating in whatever happened with the current situation around the country, and the whole world.
Many people pitied and many more people gloated at the happenings of the Cui Family, as those arrogant bastards had reaped what they had sowed.
At least this was the general opinion among the masses, as the big minds from the rest of the great families were actually pondering on what really happened.
They weren't convinced by the parlor tricks of Master Cui. It took a snake to recognize another, and the snake would never mistake his brethren.
Still, the fact stood that the current Cui Family had received a critical strike and it would be extremely difficult to survive.
Just what the hell had happened!?

Still, the Cui and Long Families weren't the only ones who were involved in rumors and extraordinary situations, as the Ling and Cao families were the same.
In fact, the happenings between these two families were rather expected, only not at such a level…
