Eric could tell that this guy despised him!
Certainly, it was difficult to understand why, as most probably was due to his partner, and the reason for why he was here, Young Miss Long.
That wasn't the problem though, as the real problem that would be a hassle to handle was that this guy was an idiot.
He seemed like the type of guy that would ask him to stay in the cold, go out there and die, even if he knew the whole story happening.
It was the type of idiot that logic never worked, and everything was solved by his standing and background. The more Eric gave in to him, the more would he act like the cocky idiot he was.
He was certain that Young Miss Long was thanking heavens for her luck tonight, as she was making more and more enemies for him.
"Young Master Cao please know your limits, you can't talk like that for my fighter! I have full confidence in him and his abilities!"
Of course, given such an opportunity there was no way she was going to let it go that easily. For that reason, she immediately tried to fan the flames.
The more she protected Eric, the more furious would that cocky idiot be. And certainly, that was the case, as Young Master Cao's face turned ugly and unhappy, as he snapped at Eric,
"You bastard, don't you know anything else but to hide behind a woman!? What kind of man are you!?"
Since he couldn't hit the donkey then he was going to kick the saddle. Seeing that he was unable to reason with Young Miss Long, he started attacking Eric directly.
Unfortunately, he didn't receive the reaction he expected, as Eric didn't even pay attention to him, or the other Young Lady, as he just kept eating from the food on the table.
"Young Master Cao, please stop this!"
Of course, Young Miss Long couldn't help but continue with what she started and fan the flames even more, as she saw that Eric wasn't paying any attention to the visitors.
She was afraid that Young Master Cao would give up on seeing Eric act like that, and it would destroy the good opportunity.
"Little sister Yin'er please understand me, I am doing this for your own good! I don't want to see you leave the Arena in shame tonight if that bastard doesn't win even a fight!
How about this, I will give Nightblade to you as a gift! She is a Realm 3 expert and can easily go until the semi-finals!"
Everyone knew that Nightblade was one of the most appreciated experts that this Young Master Cao had, and this together with the intimate direction could easily testify of his intentions.
Young Miss Long understood this as well, but she didn't really give it any thought, because she had no intention of being with such an idiot.
For that reason, she decided to hit two birds with one stone as she said quickly,
"Thank you but there is no need for Young Master Cao, and if possible I would kindly request you to not call me that intimately because there can't be anything between us.
Please don't say things that might be understood!"
As she said that, she intentionally looked at Eric with a complicated look, just like an enamored girl looking at her loved one after pushing away another male's interests.
That clue was easily caught by the cocky idiot, who looked at Eric in even greater fury and rage, but he suddenly calmed down and turned into an ice-cold figure saying,
"You better hope that you don't fall into my people's hands as they will make sure you regret the day you were born!
Pray!"
With that said, he turned around and left, leaving Young Miss Long, and Young Miss Ling in shock, but Young Miss Ling managed to quickly recollect herself as she said,
"Hehehehe~! It's meaningless to repeat the same threat little guy, so just double your prayers!"
With that said, she turned around and left as well, leaving behind only Young Miss Long, the little beauty, and Eric.
"Partner I am really sorry, it seems like I have caused you big problems!"
As soon as they left, Young Miss Long immediately lowered her head slightly and in a pitiful look requested pardon from Eric, who just started laughing out loud, and said,
"Hahahahaha~! Young Miss Long I truly wonder, how old do I look in your eyes! Do you think I am a three year old baby who wouldn't be able to understand a thing!?
I truly congratulate you on playing your part, it was a great scene! But don't start putting all your eggs in a basket, because if I don't die who knows what might happen to you! Heheheh~!"
As he said that last part, he even chuckled lecherously, giving her body a lewd and dirty look from head to toe!
His words caught the beauty a bit by surprise, but she didn't give in and revealed her true self, as she said in a pained voice,
"I don't understand why you are saying such words partner! I truly didn't want to cause this scene right now, and I am truly sorry for what transpired.
If you want, you can just pull out of the competition, and we leave immediately! No matter what people will say behind our backs!"
"Hheheheh~! Truly a great actress, abiding to the role until the end! Well, it doesn't matter anyway, and don't worry I have no intention of pulling out of this competition!
Not because of some stupid thing like pride and proof of manliness, but because I am going to win it! I truly want to see your face when it happens though, so wait for me partner!"
With that said, Eric and the beauty had to turn their heads towards the big electronic board outside, which was showing the first preliminary round, and Eric's first opponent.
It was such a great 'coincidence' as Eric's first opponent was none other than Young Miss Ling's fighter, Bloody Gorilla.
It was only the moment that she saw the matching, and confirmed it, that finally Young Miss Long stopped her actions and said,
"Heheheh~! You are better than I thought partner, it will be such a pity to have you die in this place, but I guess there is no other choice!
Well, let us see if what you said is true, or whether my plan will work out!
Go on, everyone is waiting for you to enter the ring!"
Eric just looked at her with a cold and detached look, as he finally approached her and whispered in her ear,
"Remember this, if I do win this competition, I will make everything I can to pin you down under me and do you for as long as you can breathe!"
"You better think of surviving first, partner!"
But Eric didn't seem to care about her last words, as he started walking out of the luxurious private box, and under the company of the servants to his ring.
Bloody Gorilla was already waiting for him inside the cage. This guy was extremely burly and seemed like a more human version of Eric's Titan lineage friend.
There were some red drawings, or tattoos' on his chest and back, which seemed like some sort of tribal tattoos. There was a big ax hanging on his back, and two tomahawks on his waist.
The look on his face was extremely rough and scary, as the killing intent was spreading like a fast river from his body.
Most of the fighters in this competition would lose their courage and desire to fight the moment that they saw this scene, but Eric seemed extremely calm, cool, and confident.
"Brat, blame your stupidity for ever choosing to side against my Young Miss!
But I will give you one last chance, kneel down and publicly apologize to my Young Miss, and I promise to give you a quick death!"
Eric just heard these threatening words without much of an expression on his face, and it took him a few seconds to finally seem to have understood something, as he asked,
"Oh, yeah! Now I get it!
You are trying to bore me to death with your shit-talking right!? Is that your strongest attack!?"
Normally such words wouldn't be heard from the audience, but Eric made sure to say them in an audible voice, as the whole crowd was looking at him as if they were looking at an idiot.
This guy was just a Realm 1 evolver, going against a Realm 4 one. He was already with one foot on the grave, and as if that wasn't enough, he was even trying to enrage the opponent.
He had either had a tiger's guts or was just too idiot to understand his current situation. As the crowd was thinking like this though, 2 purple veins appeared on Bloody Gorilla's forehead.
He had never thought that this little shit would not only refuse his goodwill, but he would even go so far as to trash talk him.
It seemed like this bastard wouldn't understand the immensity of Heavens if he didn't send him there, and he took this job upon himself.
With that decision taken he immediately picked up the big ax on his back, and disappeared from his location.
The next instant, he was standing behind Eric just like an unmoving mountain, with his ax above his head, and ready to let it descend on Eric's body.
He was going to make sure that Eric turned into a real half-man today…
