Chapter 4 - Jennifer Disappeared

Meanwhile, back in the mansion.

It was a big hall with carpet down on the flooring. Flowers used for decoration, specially imported from different countries. Lightning was done to make everything lush and pretentious.

Each color was perfectly chosen only for Jennifer, to make her happy and accept this marriage and Lucas left no stone to show the world that he is marrying a beauty. While everyone was busy seeing the location and passing and comment about how much Lucas is willing to show off, there was a proud smile on Jennifer's parent's faces.

He showered the money like a waterfall and was bent on making it lavish to impress Jennifer's family.

In the middle, Amelia was standing with her friends, who were eying her for getting her daughter married to one of the most famous bachelors of the time. Not only were they jealous and envying her, some just wished to come in her good books.

After all, she would be the mother-in-law of the most known criminal of the time, someone who even cops are afraid to put their hands on.

"Oh Amelia, I had no idea that Mr. Lucas could even fall for your precious. She just now graduated from her university." One of the ladies, who wore heavy jewelry, sarcastically said.

Amelia had a bright smile on her face. A smile that contained overconfidence in it. "My daughter is so beautiful. Obviously, Lucas wasn't able to resist her charm and offered a marriage with her. And who would even say no to him?"

"You are right. But it is still known that he is getting married. After all, he is one of the known in the underworld. Mrs. Amelia, you aren't afraid?" Another lady, who knew about Lucas's background asked.

The smile on Amelia's face froze. She hadn't expected anyone to bring this out but how can she avoid it? It was almost known to everyone.

Looking at the lady from head to toe, she answered back with a smile again.

"I..I...am not afraid. Jennifer is a tough girl and if Lucas has chosen her then there must be something in her. And also, Lucas will not let anything happen to Jennifer." A fake laugh was heard after her these words.

But was this the real truth? Will Lucas really let nothing happen to Jennifer or was he willing to ruin herself for his own advantage?

At the same time, a lady in a long gown was standing near a man, who wore a black color three-piece.

They both looked like the couple made in heaven but in reality, things were quite complicated, to begin with.

His hair was done perfectly and his lavish suite added extra charm to his facial expressions. Those sharp eyebrows and deep eyes of sapphire color were enough to capture someone's heart, except Jennifers.

Because he was no one else but Lucas Smith himself, talk of the town and the most known bachelor at this point. The rumors and news were all reports, 'Mr. Smith finally found his lady love.'

His both hands inside his pockets, eyes were fixed on the stairs, to see the bride coming down and he is done with this ceremony.

For how long, he has to wait to see his bride now? It has been almost two hours for her to get ready! Probably he is a groom here and he has to wait for his bride to descend down the stairs..

But the lady looked quite annoyed. Her eyes were breaching in anger when she asked, "Lucas, are you sure that we are going to take this risk?" She whispered in his ears.

"Olivia, this is the only way to have her. You are no less aware of our plan. Ask her family to bring her down now!" Lucas had limited patience and his eyes were still cold, despite this joyous occasion freewebnovel. com

Olivia was a good-looking lady, in her early twenties. Her lips were red as a strawberry, with her cheeks done with a pinkish blush. She is Lucas's left hand and one of the closed ones, or the trusted member. He shares everything with her, and she is the one who handles his personal and official work as well.

Her eyes were breaching in anger. She was furious to the next extent when her nail was digging in her own hand, she spoke, "Lucas! Do not forget what you have promised me!"

"You are forgetting your limits! I told you to ask the family to bring Jen down! Now!" He was stern in his voice and at that time, Olivia understood that she couldn't speak whatever was coming into her mind.

Pressing his patience level won't be a good option for her and make her fall on her own toes only. She couldn't remember the last time he was eager to get married to that lady?

'Just consider this as his display to the public, Olivia otherwise.. the plan would fail and you will receive nothing.' With this thought, Olivia took a deep breath to control the ranging nerves.

She has to maintain her calm otherwise, he won't hesitate to send her out of this mansion and get himself married. But this marriage was bound to happen, either in her presence or in her absence.

Bringing a fake smile over her angry face, she walked to Amelia after passing Lucas a serious glare and laughed with Amelia for a bit. When she noticed that Amelia was ready, she came to the main point.

"Lucas is waiting for Jennifer. I guess you should bring her down and get the ceremony started. We have to return back as well.." she politely asked.

"Oh..Oh..sure sure. I shall ask her father to come. Please excuse me." Amelia took out the time and walked to her husband, David, who was busy talking to some other businessman.

When she reached there, Amelia whispered in his ears, "Lucas just asked for Jennifer. We should get her down!" David was in his late fifties with a black mustache on his face.

His eyes were no less than any eagle eyes when he heard his wife's words, he nodded his head and looked at his other business mates, "You guys enjoy, I will bring my daughter down now.."

To bring Jennifer down, in a fun-loving manner they even managed to call out some of her friends and asked them to come along with them to bring Jennifer down.

They all together walked to the room where Jennifer was getting ready. But before anyone could have entered, Amelia turned to everyone and answered, "She is quite shy. I guess it would be much better if you guys stay here only. I shall bring her out and then we guys might take her from here."

No one understood the exact meaning of her words. Amelia was deathly afraid that Jenifer would still be throwing tantrums related to marriage.

'If anyone listens to her like this and tells Lucas, we are doomed for sure!' she can't take any type of risk, after all, this marriage is with Lucas, the King Mafia.

"Sure aunt." One of her cousins replied back and Amelia smiled.

Opening the door slightly, she entered inside to find no sign of Jennifer. A frown settled on her forehead because she had expected to see her here, sitting on the bed.

'Where the hell is this girl gone?' Unconsciously, Amelia clutched her heart tightly, because a bad feeling was starting to spread all over her body. She felt numbness along with it. Moreover, Jennifer's silhouette was seen in her view and this made her anxious.

"Jennifer?! Are you there? Come out!!" Her voice was a simple whisper, enough loud to hear the person if anyone would be in the room.

Her eyes turned to the restroom and she walked there, to find it empty as well, and suddenly, her gaze landed on the broken vase on the floor and the opened window.

A quick and dangerous realization dawned over her through her brain, some bad thoughts came into Amelia's mind. Her face turned white as a sheet. Her uneven breathing made her take support of the nearby wall when she shouted with all the leftover courage in her body.

"DAVID! JENNIFER IS KIDNAPPED!"
