Chapter 33 - Entangled!

(f)reewe(b)novel

Jennifer's eyes flew open when she heard her best friend's words. She wasn't able to figure out any other option. But whatever Hannah said was absolutely wrong for her.? "Are you out of your mind Hannah? I just told you that I wish to escape this reality of marriage."

"The enmity between both the groups will entangle you, Jennifer. How are you supposed to escape? The Johnson family will never let you go away from their clutches so easily.."

Hannah's words also made sense to her but she was afraid that this will not be the solution she has been looking for. Asking Lucas for help will only make her end in the same situation from which was trying to run.

Jennifer brought her nails near her mouth and bit them. Nothing beneficial came inside her mind at that time. Not because she wasn't thinking in the right direction but because there seems to be no open door.

Her heart was beating too much erratically. She never considered herself to land in such a position where not only will she have to go and run from Lucas but from his enemies as well. Why was luck not on her side even for a second?

"Hannah, you are right. But I don't wish to go back to that monster. Somewhere, this man with whom i"m staying is still sane as compared to that psycho Lucas!'' In her heart, Javier hasn't done anything wrong with her until now, whereas Lucas is a nightmare to witness.

"But Jennifer, you can't take any kind of danger with you. In the strange world...you all alone, Jennifer. Gosh, I can't even imagine what you must be undergoing at this point." she heard Hannah's frustrated voice from the other side and knew that she must be worried just like her.

"Do you ha-" the call disconnected which made Jennifer feel stressed. "Hannah!? Han?!? Are you able to hear me?"

No reply.

She tried to dial it again but this time it says it is out of reach and Jennifer lost all her hopes. To break out from all the mess, she has to contact her team which is the only way and the ones who all support her in her tough time.

But her team isn't picking up her call and it was now impossible for her to have a conversation with them at this point.

The night was getting old and Jennifer had no wish to take any kind of risk. Because of this she came out of the bedroom and took small steps which were once again making her frightened. Keeping her phone in the exact same place her eyes averted back to his face.

But this time she did take a mental note to not get lost and give him any chance to catch her red-handedly. Jennifer secretly placed the phone on the coffee table, where it was earlier.

Making her way back to her room, Jennifer just glanced from the corner of her shoulders at the sight of his, to see him fast asleep.

'Hopefully, Hannah will be able to help..'

In the early morning.

Javier was still there on the couch. He slept there for the entire night, not intending to go to his own room. Tiredness was too much to handle. But because of how fast asleep he was, he forgot so many things already. The door of the terrace wasn't locked, the main gate wasn't locked due to his carelessness.

Due to this, making calls was much easier for Jennifer since the signals weren't exactly cut off by blocking all the ways.

In the morning, the sunlight from the large window fell on his eyes which disturbed his sleep.

Opening his eyes, while adjusting to the brightness, he looked around to see that it was already day since the next living room was filled with brightness.

"Looks like I slept too late today.'' With this thought, his eyes flew to the door where he didn't see any figure. "Still sleeping? Doesn't Jennifer have the habit of waking up early in the morning?"? But he found her nowhere in the living room.

"Must be in her room itself.." he mumbled in his breath but he was kind of disappointed. This only gave her indication that she is still afraid of him and her confidence is still lacking.

Despite the time they have spent lately, this wasn't what he expected out of her. He can feel her growing more comfortable with his presence. They were pretty much a closer since the day they talked about their past as well.

A sigh escaped his mouth, 'In the end, some things do not go as per the plan..' with this thought, he pushed himself to not give it much of his attention and get into the regular work.

Javier got up from his place and straightaway went to his room. To freshen up and make breakfast for them.

After taking a shower, Javier came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his abdomen. His eight abs were quite visible and he straight away walked to the desk where his phone was lying.

He picked up the call from one of his men, "Good Morning Sir." The other side greeted him and Javier did the same.

"What happened? Is everything alright? Calling so early, I wish that everything is safe and secure." To be very honest, Javier wasn't expecting a call from their side at all. The sudden ring from his security guard did really take him by surprise.

"We got the news that someone actually tried looking into your background.. I feel that someone has an idea that you are behind Ms. Taylor's kidnapping."

Javier was silent and didn't answer straight away. He had already expected that something like this might happen, "Is it Lucas and his men?" He carefreely asked but the next reply did make him alert and raise his guards.

"No sir, it is another organization. They aren't a Mafia group but it looks like they are also interested to know your location.. because of Ms. Taylor."
