Turns out the reddened face and the harsh swallowing was Evelyn trying to hold back her laughter.
Rex totally misread that situation forgetting that his face was in a mess thanks to Evelyn, he face-palm himself feeling a little bit embarrassed of himself.

Evelyn suddenly approaches him from the side before she suddenly leans in and gives a kiss on Rex's cheek, she did it unexpectedly as Rex is looking at his reflection.

He then approaches Evelyn and stops right in front of her, the towering Rex then looks down on Evelyn, "It's not a good idea to look at me the wrong way, you should learn from this"
Evelyn gulped harshly seeing that Rex has become his usual self,
The Rex that she just quarreled with and laughed before was just a break before the real Rex comes out, it's not a good idea to push him further when Rex is being like this.
"Just don't blatantly kill them", Evelyn mutters.
She then looks at Rex in the eyes before she added, "There's enough stuff going on with the 25 Families mission and the soon-to-be alliance, don't add more and create chaos"
After saying that, Evelyn bids her goodbye and leaves.
Rex looks at Evelyn's back that is becoming further and further away, 'Why is everyone trying to defend the Platchi? It's not that I have a choice since the system just issued a Sudden Quest'

After about twenty minutes of walking and taking the bus, Rex arrived in front of a house that is quite big with no fences, only a pathway leading to the entrance of the house.
It was not as Rex expected since the 25 Families' houses are usually like a castle.
This much of a house was not something an Awakened like Duncan should own, it's too humble for a man like Duncan considering that he's one of the 25.
'I can't sense anything', Rex thought with a frown.
Since it's already a bit late in the night, the lights are all off except for the ones on the entrance but the strange thing is that Rex didn't sense anyone inside the house.
Rex should be able to sense the people this far, so this is weird.
Putting his guard up, Rex approach the entrance but when he was about to take a step into the pathway leading to the entrance,

His feet suddenly hit something before Rex frowned, 'A barrier?'

Three people came out of nowhere catching Rex in surprise since he can't sense them, their swords collided with Rex's katana creating three sparks as they got pushed away by Rex.
All of them are wearing the Black Tiger guild outfit, the guild associated with the Platchi Family.
"Who are you? Why have you come here?", one of the men said.
Hearing this, Rex lays his Amuerus Katana on his traps with a grin that can't be seen through his black face mask, "I'm here to visit Duncan, he's an old friend of mine"
"Sir Duncan is not accepting guests at this hour, please leave", the man said.
But upon hearing this, Rex started chuckling for a bit, "Is that how you treat everyone that visited? You just attacked me first before asking who am I"
The man went silent as he inspected Rex,
Although Rex is wide open while playing with his katana on his traps, the three guild members of the Black Tiger guild can feel that Rex is emitting a very dangerous vibe.
It's clear that he's not just some Awakened passerby,
Rex saw that the man in the middle nudge his chin before a smile appear on Rex's face, another Awakened sneaked from behind and leaped towards Rex.

The three men in front of Rex widened their eyes in shock, they thought that the Awakened behind Rex was able to sneak successfully and at least wound Rex.
To their surprise, Rex already noticed it.
'So this barrier is what makes my sense dull', Rex thought while looking at the three men.
The three men were behind the barrier so Rex can't get through easily, he inspected the barrier without even minding the screaming man behind him that has his arms chopped off.
"Who are you! This is the Platchi Family's ground, one of the 25 Golden Crest Families. Do you have any idea who you're dealing with?!"
"Of course I know, I told you before. I'm here to meet with Duncan", Rex replied with a fierce glint.
Hearing the calmness inside Rex's voice, the three men gulped harshly as they know that they are dealing with an Awakened that is not only powerful but also ruthless.
Gritting his teeth, the man in the middle then said, "You won't be able to bypass the barrier"
"This is the barrier created by a rank six formation master, you will not be able to destroy this barrier even if you try for a million years!", the man in the middle added.
But Rex grin upon hearing this,
When his feet touch the barrier before, Rex already scanned the barrier with the system.

After the system notification appears, Rex takes the item that he purchased from the system before he throws the vial to the invisible barrier.

The vial shatters coating the barrier in front of Rex with the liquid inside it.
Seeing this, the three men were confused but they really have a bad feeling about this as they unconsciously step back when Rex smiles evilly while looking at them.
"I can't break it? Let me try it!"

Rex imbued his element and his red force into his punch,
He even use his Force Beam skill as the red force coated his fist as his fist landed solidly on the barrier, and under the Black Tiger members' eyes the barrier that they boast about cracked!
The crack started spreading before the barrier blink a couple of times and shattered into pieces.
"No way! How is this possible!", one of the men exclaimed.
Then the man in the middle added, "Are you from the other families?!"
But Rex ignore their surprising remarks as the barrier pieces dissipated, "Oh, Would you look at that? I got through", Rex said with an evil grin, and this grin gives goosebumps to the three men.
With the barrier broken, there's nothing to stand between Rex and them.
"Do you think we're just some weaklings?! I'll make sure to wipe that grin of yours", the man in the middle said before he commanded the other two as fire mana gathers on them.
Rex can feel the fire mana gathers on them as a circle of fire appeared in front of them,
The circle of fire is created by many kinds of runes almost like a formation before the three circles of fire merge into one creating a bigger one, it gathers the fire mana crazily.
"You're doing this kind of spell in this situation?", Rex thought will shaking his head.
Hearing this, the Black Tiger guild members grind their teeth in anger as they chanted, "Crimson Fire Formation! Crimson Flame!"
WOOSHH!
The circle of fire spat crimson flames like a flamethrower,
Even the ground melted because of the heat of the crimson fire, it shot through their front, and when Rex was about to dodge it he suddenly frowns, 'If I let this through the neighbors will be attracted, I can't let this spell explode'
Rex readies his katana as he imbues it with black lightning,
The runes on the katana started to glow as Rex went into his battle stance, black lightning started to blitz chaotically as Rex chanted, "Flash!"
BLITZ!!
With his katana, Rex cut through the crimson fire.
The Amuerus Katana cut through the crimson fire like butter as Rex imbued his black lightning to the crimson fire, the black lightning disturbed the mana inside the crimson fire spell and disperse it instantly.
SWOOSH!
Rex easily disperse the crimson fire, it was not even a challenge.
The three guild members of the Black Tiger guild were caught in surprise when they saw their three combined spells were destroyed just like that, they didn't even realize that Rex is already behind them.
"You guys are too slow", Rex commented harshly.
With trembling legs, the three of them look at their backs and saw Rex is already behind them.
Rex is turning his face to the side teasing them with his wicked smile, black lightning mana gathers onto his body before he chanted, "Thousand Lightning Thorn"
STAB!
Inside the house,
A woman woke up from bed when she heard weird sounds from the front, she woke up Duncan who was just sleeping beside her.
Duncan jolted from the bed when he hear the weird sound,
"Wait here", he said before he puts on his night pajamas and open the door lightly.
Upon opening the door, Duncan can hear the weird sounds clearly and he realized that it's coming from the front. His body stiffen when he heard screams from in front of the house.
Walking cautiously, Duncan jolted when Maurice suddenly open his door.
Maurice also heard the screaming sound as he too got up from bed, with a hand signal Duncan told Maurice to stay where he is as he heads towards the window on the second floor.
Duncan peek from the window curtains before he suddenly sucked in a cold breath,
"No...There's no way...", Duncan mutters as his eyes widen in shock.
Seeing Duncan's stiff body, Maurice decided to peek too but his body also froze when he see what he's seeing right now that brings a chill on his spine.
He saw a man wailing on the ground that has his arms chopped off,
There are also three bodies near the entrance that already stain the grass in red, but what makes his body freeze is not the dead bodies but it's because of the man standing amongst the dead bodies.
Rex is standing with blood staining his face, three dead bodies are lying around him.
Feeling a couple of gazes from the second floor, Rex looks up and saw Maurice peeking through the window with a pale expression.
The bleak aura that is coming from him, Rex can see it cloaking his body.
Both of their eyes connected before a nasty grin appear on Rex's face, the bloodstains add Rex's intimidation presence as his eyes flashed with red light.
This red flash makes Maurice steps back from the window with trembling bodies,
"Rex Silverstar..."
