Physician Liu, having worked as a midwife for many years, had seen many cases where women had easy pregnancies but faced difficulties during labor.
Pregnancy wasn't just a matter of having one foot in the gates of hell on the day of childbirth; the entire pregnancy was filled with unpredictable risks.
