Chapter 105.3: A Nostalgic Night (1)

“A’Shu.” It was Sheng Yun’s slightly excited voice coming from the other line.

He hummed indifferently. Chen Shu’s mood was not affected by Sheng Yun’s excitement. He was neither estranged at his mother nor intimate towards her.

“What can I do for you?” Chen Shu only identified Ye Sui as his family. As for Sheng Yun, she was just a person who had given birth to him.

Sheng Yun did not know that the lack of maternal love for so many years could not be made up with a few words of regret and comfort.

Sheng Yun’s second husband had died. Although she had inherited a large fortune, she could not find a person to accompany her during the new year.

Perhaps because of her old age, she also wanted to enjoy the days with her son caring for her. She wished for a happy and leisurely old age.

“The Chen Family is not good to you. This year, come to your mother to celebrate New Year’s Eve.” Sheng Yun knew that Chen Shu cared about Ye Sui, so she immediately added, “You can bring Ye Sui here.”

Because of Ye Sui’s name, Chen Shu’s eyes softened a little. He looked at the silent snowflakes and opened his mouth calmly. “No, thank you for your concern. I no longer need you to accompany me for New Year’s Eve.” Chen Shu politely refused Sheng Yun’s request.

Chen Shu’s tone was light, but Sheng Yun still noticed the persistence in his voice and could only hang up the phone regretfully.

Chen Shu didn’t go back to the boring party and stayed in the garden a little longer because Ye Sui was not at home yet. She would return a little late.

Chen Shu arrived at the entrance of their villa. Instead of going up directly, he started to walk around the community. He traced the route he had walked with Ye Sui.

The sky above was streaming down with snow, and delicate snowflakes were still falling.

The lights were on in every household, and almost everyone stayed at home, not many people passing through the streets. Hence, the place looked a little deserted.

Chen Shu walked around and arrived back at the entrance of their villa. Just as he was about to go in the elevator, his vision suddenly darkened. A pair of cold hands had covered his eyes.

The next second, the person behind him leaned its chin on Chen Shu’s shoulder. The corners of his mouth curled up as the familiar breath came.

Ye Sui spoke softly in Chen Shu’s ear, “Three, two, one.”

At the end of the countdown, Ye Sui chuckled and called Chen Shu’s name, “Chen Shu, happy new year.”

Ye Sui removed her hand from Chen Shu’s eyes. Instead of walking away immediately, she held out her hand, hooked his neck, and rested on Chen Shu’s shoulder.

“Chen Shu, my legs are so tired.” Ye Sui had stood outside all day, so busy that she didn’t even drink a few mouthfuls of water.

Chen Shu suddenly bent down slightly, causing Ye Sui to freeze.

He patted Ye Sui’s hand that was around his neck. “I’ll carry you.”

When Ye Sui heard Chen Shu’s proposal, she was moved for a moment, but she immediately refused, “No, we will be seen.”

Nonetheless, Chen Shu insisted. “There’s no one here. You can put on your hat.”

Ye Sui took a look around, and there were indeed few people in the community. Only then did she dare to lay on Chen Shu’s back. “Thank you for your hard work, husband.”

Chen Shu’s eyes floated with a smile. He lifted Ye Sui and did not forget to remind her, “Hat.”

Ye Sui put on the hat of her hoodie, which covered most of her face. She also took off half of the scarf around her neck and wrapped it around Chen Shu’s neck.

Ye Sui’s body temperature on the scarf still remained, and it was passed on to Chen Shu’s face.

Ye Sui had seen that the community was deserted, so she became more daring. She was wearing a thick hat. No one would find out what she was doing.

Chen Shu felt the soft touch of Ye Sui’s lips on his side face, like a dragonfly touching the water lightly.

“Chen Shu, your face is so cold. I’ll warm you up.”
