Chapter 506: The Countdown(2)

Unaware of what was to come, Carlos took a deep breath and entered the portal, hoping for the situation to be in his control.

The next moment, when Carlos opened his eyes, he found himself in a thriving city. He looked around, only to see tall structures spread across the area while people were happily conversing or were busy with their work on the street.

Carlos recognized it to be a market as there were stalls spread across the street.

For a moment, Carlos thought that he had returned to the real world since the scene in front of him was a common occurrence in the Primal dimension. But soon, Carlos found his thoughts were wrong since he felt the restrictions on him had returned.

Carlos had no idea where he was, so he took a step forward to find where he was.

Fortunately and unbelievably for him, when he came across a group of friends chatting. He had no interest in what they spoke, but what shocked him was that the group conversed in the same language his race members spoke.

Carlos belonged to the race Dorora. It was a race once exclusive to the Sacred dimension, but countless years ago, due to a curse, they lost their divinity and were forced to descend to the Primal dimension.

They had similar circumstances as the Titans, but the members of the Dororo race were fortunate since Dororos could ascend after cultivating, unlike the Titans, who were doomed to spend eternity in the Primal dimension.

Dororo had a humanoid structure, but they looked anything but humans. They had dark-red skins, with a head that had six eyes and a mouth. They had two hands and three legs. Their eyes were in the color of blood red, which held a different charm for anyone that directly looked at them.

“What is this?” Carlos asked a stall owner. He was traveling across the market in the hope of learning about the place he was in currently. He suddenly stopped in his steps as he felt something attracting him out of several products spread across the stall in front of him.

The item that attracted him looked like a lotus, but at the same time, it didn’t look like one.

“This is the 1st Gradient Lotus,” A smile that sent chills down Carlos’s spine spread across the stall owner’s face as he introduced the product to Carlos.

Carlos had a bad feeling, seeing the smile on the stall owner’s face,? but he controlled himself and requested the stall owner to let him have a look at the 1st Gradient Lotus.

“I will allow you to take a look at it, but only on one condition,” The smile on the stall owner’s face turned wider, hearing what Carlos said.

The bad feeling in Carlos’s heart turned into an ominous sensation, but after taking a deep breath, Carlos asked about the condition.

Carlos could feel that whatever condition the stall owner was going to put in front of him won’t be any good, but Carlos had no choice but to listen to the stall owner. Carlos felt like his heart would come out of his mouth if he didn’t get the 1st Gradient Lotus. At the same time, Carlos also sensed that the lotus could give him a clue about where he was and how to leave this area.

“The condition I have is pretty simple. If you fulfill it, I won’t only let you touch the 1st Gradient Lotus, but I’ll give it to you,” The stall owner commented, while the smile on his face only got wider, making his face weirder and terrifying for others to look.

Carlos didn’t say anything but gestured to the stall owner to go ahead and put his condition forward.

“The condition is simple. Bring me a million beating hearts, and the 1st Gradient Lotus is yours,” The stall owner told Carlos his condition for giving him the lotus.

Hearing the condition, Carlos felt a chill down his spine. When he saw the smile, he had sensed that the requirement wasn’t going to be any good, but now that he heard it, it still went past his expectations.

“Do you think I am a fool?” Carlos took a deep breath and glared at the stall owner.

“Hehe, I have already stated my conditions. If you want the 1st Gradient Lotus, bring me a million beating hearts,” The stall owner, unfazed by Carlos’s reaction, laughed loudly and told Carlos.

“Remember, all the hearts should be beating. If even one stops beating, you will never get the 1st Gradient Lotus,” The stall owner further added. The next moment, in front of Carlos’s eyes, the stall owner and his stall disappeared as if he was never there.

Carlos wanted to say something, but words got stuck in his mouth, seeing the sudden disappearance of the stall owner.

“When you complete the condition, you can come here. I’ll be waiting for you,” The next moment, the stall owner’s voice rang in his ears like a whisper of the air.

Carlos looked around him, only to find that the stall owner was nowhere to be seen. His eyes then fell on the people happily chatting and buying products in the market, and then the condition presented by the stall owner rang in his head.

Carlos had no problem with the killing of people, but what transpired next made him question his decision.

As far as he could see, the race of the people had changed, and now the male had the same appearance as his son, while the women present there had the same feature that his daughter had.

Carlos’s eyes turned cold as he tried to toughen his heart, but even when he hadn’t started to kill, the scene of when he had held his son for the first time played in his head resulting in his confidence dimming.

“ARGH!” Carlos screamed in frustration to clear his mind, but the situation only got worse.

Carlos, forcing the feelings down, took a step forward and appeared in front of the nearest man to him.

The young man had the same features as his son. The man became confused, but before he could even understand what had happened, a slap came his way and hit him. The next moment, the young man’s head burst like a watermelon.
