At that moment, Carla lost all the colors on her face. From the roar, she could sense the difference between the strength of the beast and her.
"Only you're my hope of surviving," Carla muttered, looking at the kid still hanging upside down.
She knew that only the kid could defeat the beast; she had no chance.
The sound of roar got closer, and Carla's hands got quicker.
It was a race for time. If Carla released the kid first, she would survive. If the beast reached her first, she would not only die and fail the quest but will have to face the wrath of the kid's parents even after dying.
"Hehe, weak lady, the beast is coming," The kid mocked Carla, seeing her trying very hard to free him.
"Shut up," Carla was already very tense due to the beast, so her mind finally snapped.
The kid, who had been laughing and mocking Carla, fell silent for a moment, hearing her reprimand. The next moment, his eyes turned watery, his mouth flew wide open, and then his crying began.
Carla ignored the bawling of the kid and attempted to undo the hold of the vine as quickly as possible. She could sense an approach toward her from behind.
"Pounce!"
The beast was the first to reach Carla. When it was a few meters away from her, it pounced at her.
"Thud!"
Right at that moment, Carla finally undid the hold of the vine, and then the kid crashed on the ground with a loud sound.
The beast attempted to change his direction as it knew the strength of the kid.

Due to changing direction midway, the beast lost its balance and crashed down the ground with a loud sound.
The beast stood up right away and escaped without even daring to look behind.
Carla, on the other hand, slumped down the ground while gasping for a breath.
The last moments were tense for her and required her to give her 100%.
