Chapter 1498: Trial of Power(20)
The guards of the Heles Kingdom stood guard near the boundary of the labyrinth all the time, and they were elitist of the elites, with even the weakest guard being a Level 3.
The guards were stationed as usual when there was a sudden movement at the entry point. They immediately sheathed their weapons, ready to attack at a moment's notice.

Huo Jinglin's injury had slightly recovered, so he could walk without much pain. He immediately greeted the prince once he saw him. Since Huo Jinglin had carried the prince to safety, he easily recognized him.

"I didn't expect you to be my fortune star." The prince stated in surprise when he saw the locked box in Huo Jinglin's hands.
Huo Jinglin simply smiled in response to that and passed the box to the prince. He didn't take the prince's words to heart since it was clearly mentioned on the challenge screen that if he took the item for himself, the prince would become his enemy.

The prince didn't say anything else and immediately took the box from Huo Jinglin. He then transferred some of his energy, and the box opened with a clicking sound.
As soon as the item inside the box was revealed, a beautiful melody rang in the room. Huo Jinglin couldn't help but feel calm hearing that.

"Here are your ten low Experience Cores," The prince handed the reward to Huo Jinglin.
Huo Jinglin smiled on the outside but cursed the prince for his lack of character in his heart. The challenge screen set the price of the material at 50 cores, whereas the prince gave him ten cores because that was the price.
The next moment, Huo Jinglin's smile turned sincere when he heard the next statement of the prince.
"Whenever you request help using the medallion, contact me first, and I will send you the strongest Level 3 for your help."
As for how to contact the prince, the prince gave Huo Jinglin a talisman that could help him contact the prince once.
"Thanks for your grace, prince," Huo Jinglin thanked the prince.
The next moment, in front of them, a white light enveloped Huo Jinglin, and he disappeared from the room.
The prince and others in the room looked surprised since the guards around the prince were all Level 4 and couldn't even sense how things happened.

Huo Jinglin stepped out of the portal after pressing the return button on the screen.
He had enough cores to break through to Level 2. Since his body wasn't in optimal condition physically or mentally, Huo Jinglin climbed down the stairs and immediately jumped to his bed after entering the room.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye, and Huo Jinglin's body had fully recovered. He didn't immediately start the absorption process that day but on the next day.
Two days later, Huo Jinglin had absorbed the ten low Experience Cores required to step into Level 2 from Level 1.
He took a deep breath and picked up another low Experience Core. He had only absorbed a tiny part of the energy reserves of the core when an explosion rang inside his body.
The energy that Huo Jinglin had absorbed from ten cores immediately rushed as if breaking through a wall. Wherever it passed, his organs would be destroyed. But Huo Jinglin didn't feel any pain, and the injury was restored immediately.
A few minutes later, the process came to an end, and Huo Jinglin stepped into Level 2, no longer being a Level 1.
Immediately after that, Huo Jinglin felt his body becoming out of control, and he stood in front of the tree in the sea of consciousness. His body suddenly trembled since the last experience he had with the tree was still present in his memory.
The last time he came here, Huo Jinglin ate a fruit, resulting in his body getting possessed by a powerful being. He decided not to try to pluck a fruit again, but unfortunately for him, his desire got out of control, forcing him to extend his right hand and pluck a second fruit.
Before he could come around, Huo Jinglin had taken a large bite of the fruit. Immediately, an explosion of liquid happened in his mouth, and an expression of pleasure appeared on his face. In just a few bites, Huo Jinglin had devoured the entirety of the fruit.
When he came around, a look of shock and fear spread across his face since the deed he was dreading the most had already been done.
The next moment, he was thrown out of his sea of consciousness as if it were controlled by someone else. When he returned to the room, he felt white smoke rising from his body.
Huo Jinglin couldn't help but feel happy, and it was an instinctive feeling. It seemed like whatever tried to possess him couldn't do so at his residence.
Fortunately for him, his thought turned out to be correct, and a few moments later, a silhouette of a living being formed above Huo Jinglin. It had a frightened expression and immediately tried to escape.
Unfortunately for it, before it could even reach the door, the white smoke had fully dissipated.
