Chapter 1350 Second Store Upgrade Quest(18)

Chapter 1350: Second Store Upgrade Quest(18)

Her knife was about to slash the beast's head, but a surprising situation suddenly played out. The beast melted into the ground and then emerged from behind Laney.

Laney's knife passed through empty air. She immediately turned around and slashed again.

The same phenomenon repeated itself again, and the beast melted into the ground immediately, even though it was in the air.

The phenomenon kept repeating, and Laney kept failing to hit the beast.

Laney decided to give up on her knife and put it back. The next moment, her hand began to glow red, and she reached to grab the beast.

The beast seemed to have melted once again, but suddenly, a surge of flame emerged from the ground.

The beast immediately emerged from the ground, and its skin seemed burned. Even though the beast melted, fire seemed to be its weakness.

Laney used the element of fire to her advantage and finally succeeded in damaging the beast. The battle looked like a clear victory for her, with the beast on the verge of death.

One more attack and the beast would be dead. Laney struck, but suddenly, her body began to tremble in fright, freezing her actions.

Laney looked around and found the beasts under every mountain waking up and staring at her. The beast whimpered and ran away while drops of blood continuously spilled on the ground.

When the beast had moved out of her attacking range, the sense of fear disappeared, and the beasts around the mountains returned to their sleep.

Laney understood that killing was an impossible task here. She had seen death up front when the beasts stared at her.

Laney calmed herself down and took a deep breath. She then walked toward the material, a hammer appearing in her hand.

The hammer was made of a special material since not every material could break Destrun. Before smashing into the mountain, Laney looked around her.

She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw the calm around the mountains. She then hit the material, and a huge chunk flew out.

Laney immediately turned around and looked at the beasts. After finding that things were normal, Laney returned to her work and began to break Destrun into small chunks, which she then stored in her space ring.

When Laney had stored one-third of Destrun on the mountain, she heard a familiar roar. She turned around and found the beast returning to battle.

The battle began again, and since Laney knew its weakness, it ended in no time. Laney didn't try to kill the beast like the last time, and no troubling situation arose.

The beast ran away after finding out that Laney wasn't trying to kill it. Laney then returned to her work and began to store the broken chunks of Destrun.

When only one-third of the total Destrun was left in the mountain, the beast returned with a roar. Laney ignored the beast and walked away.

The Destrun stored by her belonged to low purity, so filling her space ring with it when there were higher purity materials seemed a wasteful decision.

The beast didn't feel any shock or surprise or chase Laney, but instead, it sat down and returned to sleep. The next moment, a light appeared out of nowhere and covered the mountain.

When the light disappeared, the mountain had regained its former density, shocking Laney. The scene in front of her signified that there was an endless quantity of Destrun there.

Laney immediately looked inside her space ring and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief when she found that Destrun was intact and hadn't disappeared.

After walking for a while, Laney found another beast she was capable of defeating. Knowing its weakness, she stepped into the range of the beast, and it immediately woke up.

Growl!

Growling, the beast pounced on her. Laney immediately activated one of her fire element skills and attacked.

The next moment, a surprising scene played out in front of her. Forget damaging the beast; the attack released by Laney seemed to enforce the defense and attack of the beast.

The weakness of the former beast was a boost for the one facing her. Laney understood that every beast had a different type of ability, even though they looked identical.

The next moment, the knife appeared in her hand, and she slashed. The beast turned out to be quicker than her and dodged the slash.

Time flew by, and the battle continued for a while. After a slight struggle, Laney succeeded in overpowering the beast and stopped when it was time for the killing strike.

The beast escaped the mountain immediately, leaving the enormous quantity of Destrun defenseless.

The color of Destrun was slightly darker, showing its higher level of purity. Laney had to work harder than before to grab the amount.

Laney had only grabbed one-fourth of the amount when the beast returned. Laney believed that she would be able to win again, so she jumped into the battle.

Her efforts didn't fail her, and she won again. When she had stored half of the total Destrun material, the beast returned. Laney was still in a condition to battle, but she decided against continuing there.

She needed strength after leaving the area, and she needed to leave before she would be forced out of Panagea. Laney had no idea what would change the next time she returned to Panagea after exiting.

Laney ignored the beast and walked away from the mountain. No matter which way she looked, as far as her eyes could see, there were mountain after mountain covered in a great deal of Destrun. It meant Laney couldn't find her way out of there.

Laney decided to walk in the same direction she had come from, and only after walking for a few hundred meters, she suddenly stopped. In front of her stood a mountain of purest Destrun, and similarly a beast on its bottom whom she was unable to defeat at that time, and also in the near future.

The thing that shocked Laney was that she didn't remember the mountain in her path while searching for a suitable mountain of Destrun. It could only mean one thing, she had lost her direction.

Laney frowned since she was confident that she was traveling in the same direction Laney had come from, but it had been hours, and she had yet to come across a change in the mountains.

If she thought in another way, there were two reasons for the scene in front of her. The first was that the mountains were interchangeable, and any mountain could be placed anywhere. The second was that the material and the beast guarding it were evolving in real-time, turning a low-level pure Destrun into a high-level pure material.

No matter what the reason behind the situation, neither was acceptable to Laney. She needed to leave before her time to exit Panagea arrived. In fact, the situation made her feel even more urgently compelled to leave. If things could take such a turn when she was present, she didn't even dare imagine what would happen.

The second reason made her feel slightly afraid. If it were correct, there could also be a situation where the beast evolves in the middle of her battle. Wouldn't she die unjustly if something like that happened?

To find out what the reason behind the change was, she walked ahead. Not long after, her face turned pale from fright since the worst case had happened.

It turned out that her two hypotheses for the situation were correct. Both of them, not just one.

She saw a mountain disappear, and then another appeared there. She also saw a blue light engulfing one Destrun mountain, and soon after, the material and the beast had evolved.

Laney was standing and thinking of a way to leave the area when the ground beneath her feet rumbled. The next moment, she was knocked back into the air and immediately crashed into the nearest mountain.

Laney's face turned pale as if someone had drained all her blood. The mountain she had crashed on was one of the purest Destrun in the area, and to guard it, the beast was similarly one of the strongest.

Laney had not even a little bit of a chance of winning the battle, but a surprising situation played out. Like her, the beast had a horrified expression.

But the beast was looking ahead, while Laney was afraid of the beast.

The beast had noticed Laney crashing into the mountain it was born to protect, but the situation in front of it demanded that it ignore the stranger.

Howl! Howl! Howl!

The beast suddenly howled, and following that, other beasts in the area also followed suit.
