Chapter 1298: Punishment(16)

The sudden explosion knocked the two combatants to opposite sides while a large cloud of magma and smoke erupted in the sky.

When the smoke subsided, the current picture of the battle presented itself. Elia was lying with negligible parts of her body remaining, while the same was the case for the beast. But in comparison between the two, the beast was the one that looked to be the victor of the battle.

But if the battle only demanded physicality, then strong physical races would have been the only remaining races. It also required the will to fight and the tenacity to survive.

Even though Elia was unable to fight any longer, she still couldn't give up on the battle. Whatever remained of her eyelids were turning heavy, while her mouth could no longer make a sound due to her burnt throat. She tried to remember the scene of her husband self-exploding to make her aware and survive the onslaught.

The next moment, a miraculous scene occurred. Despite having no legs or hands to fight, a wave of pressure emanated from her, directing itself at the beast.

The Ferocious Tyrant was a strong beast that knew nothing but rage. But when that pressure attacked, its eyes immediately displayed panic.

The pressure didn't make the beast feel heavy or suffocating; instead, it affected its brain to feel the pain Elia had gone through when she saw her husband dying, what Elia felt when she found out that no one in her family survived, the despair caused by the guilt when Elia found that she was alive whereas her young son, who had a lot to live for, was dead.

That pain was something the beast had never felt, and it immediately broke it down. It was already extremely injured and was hanging by the last straw. It was on the verge of winning since it was clear that Elia would be the first to close her eyes and bid farewell to the taming world.

But everything changed due to her tenacity to survive. Elia didn't want to die, even if she knew it would have no effect on her real body. That tenacity gave birth to a new skill for her and also changed the outcome of the battle.

The beast could no longer bear the pain, and it crushed its own heart to let the pain go away. The next moment, the pain did go away, and the beast lost the taming battle.

Elia's emotions showed no fluctuation as a green light surrounded her.

The next moment, her consciousness returned to the store, and soon after, an unbearable prickling pain hit her. Even though Elia had gone through too much, the pain still affected her.

Fortunately for her, the pain went away as quickly as it had come, and the screen on the device lit up.

When Elia looked at it, the content of it was engraved in her mind. There was nothing wrong with the contract. She then pulled her hand out and the beast card after that.

Since the Ferocious Tyrant was of ultimate quality, she needed to complete the purchase with the store owner. Elia turned around and left the room.

There was a small line of customers in front of the store owner, so she joined it and waited for her turn.

At that moment, Aakesh was in conversation with Laney. Since Laney didn't have the needed amount at that time, she asked her guards to go to her father and bring the required sum.

After they returned with the sum, Laney returned to Aakesh.

"Store owner, I want to complete the purchase," Laney respectfully requested, passing the beast card to him. She was grinning widely, and the pride couldn't be hidden since she had done something that the store owner believed had almost zero chance.

Aakesh nodded and took the beast card from Elia's hands. The next moment, the details appeared in his mind.

"You need to pay five thousand higher and ten lesser Sacred stones," Aakesh expressionlessly informed Laney, returning the card to her.

After passing the card, Laney had already taken out the sum since she only needed to add ten lesser stones to the sum brought by her guards.

Aakesh waved his hands, and the next moment, the mountain of stones disappeared from the store.

"You are short of ten higher Sacred stones," Aakesh suddenly informed after hearing the system's alert.

Laney immediately frowned and looked at her guards, who were busy chatting with each other. They noticed Laney looking at them, and suddenly expressions of panic engulfed their faces.

The two guards then looked at each other, and as if they already had a tacit understanding, the panic disappeared from their faces.

Laney's frown deepened when he saw the guards acting like that even when their mistake had been captured. She decided to focus on it later and took out ten higher Sacred stones from the money she had brought with her and handed them to Aakesh.

"The beast is yours from now on," Aakesh informed Laney after hearing the system's alert of successful payment.

Aakesh also caught the situation when he saw Laney suddenly looking at her guards after hearing about the stone shortage. But since it had nothing to do with him, he didn't personally intervene.

But at the same time, Laney had almost become his candidate for the second store upgrade quest, so Aakesh couldn't let the two thieves go free. The next moment, an invisible force appeared and knocked them out, blacklisting the two guards from the store for eternity.

Aakesh didn't give a serious punishment since it was up to Laney what to do with the two thieves.

The two guards were stumped when they suddenly found them outside the store on the ground with their buttocks. It happened so fast that they didn't even see what happened to them.

The guards immediately stood up and walked toward the store, and when they were about to enter the store, a force even harder than before acted and threw them. That time, several bones in their lower body cracked upon the hard crash.

After getting blacklisted, the force knocking the criminals out would grow with every attempt, and at one point, it would reach such intensity that the criminal would explode into a blood cloud with just the touch of force.
