Chapter 1231: Stacy and Aakesh(End)

"Is Logan, the previous ruler, still alive?" Stacy asked after a long pause.

Her eyes had calmed down completely as if she had become an entirely different person at that moment.

"Yes," Aakesh answered.

Logan was on the verge of dying, but Freya had saved him. If not for Freya's outrageous strength, the Khostics would have become extinct in that war.

"Can you help me reach my family?" Stacy asked.

Since the Khostics had escaped from the ruin, Stacy was unaware of where they had gone. Aakesh was aware of so many things, so she hoped for him to know about those as well.

The next moment, Stacy was faced with disappointment, as Aakesh had no idea where the Khostics were. Aakesh could ask for the system's help, but that wasn't going to be cheap.

"Is there a way to inform Freya of my presence?" Stacy then asked.

Since she couldn't know where the Khostics were, she needed to bring Khostics to her. To do that, she only needed to let Freya be aware of her presence.

Stacy was confident that Freya would come rushing to meet her once she found out about her presence.

"There might be, but you will have to wait for that," Aakesh answered.

Since the store had Ayana, a powerful Sacred Creator as its customer, Aakesh believed that Ayana must know a way to communicate with Freya, but since Ayana rarely came to the store, and it had been more than a decade since she last visited, there was also Ayriel, but it was clear that Ayriel didn't like Ayana.

The day was the most tragic for Stacy, despite surviving the storm. She met the man she once loved deeply enough to leave everything and then forget about him. Fate brought her to the man, but as if it were playing a cruel joke on her, the man was different. She also learned about the tragic fate of her race. In all that, she forgot about the man she married. She didn't even care enough to ask Aakesh about his well-being.

"Eh!"

Stacy was lamenting the day when she suddenly exclaimed in surprise. Her cultivation had become stagnant for years and had been stuck at peak Sacred King, but for the first time in millennials, she finally sensed an increase in energy.

She forgot everything at that moment and sat down on the ground. The system immediately acted and brought an invisible cover around her so as not to affect other customers of the store.

The next moment, her breakthrough began. What should have taken her days, if not months, to complete the process only took her around an hour inside the store.

When she opened her eyes, she was no longer a Sacred King but an early Sacred Emperor.

Even though she had forgotten about Aakesh after a higher power influenced her to forget everything that was to do with Aakesh, including her feelings, it put an unconscious blockade in her heart.

Till that blockade was there, Stacy could no longer progress in cultivation. Now that she finally saw Aakesh and as all the memories came rushing to her, that blockade disappeared.

All the strength she had gatherers in all those stagnant years came rushing to her and broke the barrier, blocking her from stepping into the next level.

As she opened her eyes, she immediately looked in the direction of Aakesh.

The past Aakesh was the helper who helped her pass through the barrier of the Supreme God and step into the Sacred Barrier while the present Aakesh became the reason behind her stagnant cultivation finally seeing the disappearance of the invisible blockade.

At that moment, Stacy wished deeply in her heart for Aakesh to become the man of the past and smile at her. Unfortunately for her, that was different Aakesh, and the man in the store was different Aakesh. The smile never came, but Stacy contented herself remembering the smile of the past.

Stacy also felt guilty for wishing Aakesh to return when she already had a husband, but her love for Aakesh won over her guilt. She decided to break off the marriage if her husband was alive when she returned to the race.

While things were going through Stacy's mind, Aakesh was in conversation with a new customer. To be precise, Aakesh was introducing the store's products.

"Store owner, I want to enter Panagea," The man requested after the introduction came to an end.

"You can't. The spots for the day have already been filled. You will need to come tomorrow," Aakesh replied.

After the man left for the weapon's room since he wanted to check the training area, another customer took his place.

Soon, Aakesh was freed, with customers in front of him. At that moment, Stacy approached him.

"Thank you for helping me with the breakthrough," Stacy thanked Aakesh.

There was a hint of hesitation in her voice, as she wanted to see Aakesh as someone different, but the exact face she had fallen in love with didn't help her case. It resulted in her tone being slightly awkward.

Aakesh understood why Stacy was acting like that. Even if he didn't, he wouldn't have cared.

"Did Aakesh ever tell you why he was helping you?" Aakesh suddenly asked.

According to what Stacy told him, Aakesh had suddenly appeared in her life and helped her with the breakthrough, but then he had disappeared.

(A/N: Aakesh's past life will be explained in detail in the special chapter in the future like the previous two chapters.)

"No," Stacy responded.

Aakesh's mysteriousness and charm played an extensive role in her falling deeply for him. She had asked him multiple times why he helped her, but every time she got a gentle smile in response.

'Did he fall in love with her?' Aakesh thought but soon after rejected the conjecture.

If the reason behind helping Stacy had been love, Aakesh wouldn't have disappeared. Aakesh knew himself; he would go to any extent for someone he cared about.

If the guy were one of his past lives, he would have been the same. The only difference was the way the two behaved since their life experiences shaped their behavior, but their character was the same, and Aakesh needed no system's answer to be confident of that.
