Chapter 119: Goodbye Cheng Yao

Cheng Yao scolded his nephew teasingly again.

At night, a low-profile black commercial van stopped at the south gate of University A.

Zhou Yao brought Xiao Ying over and they got into the car. Xiao Ying greeted the people inside politely.

Cheng Yao was even more satisfied with Xiao Ying.

The group arrived at a restaurant. Cheng Yao smiled and asked Xiao Ying to order her favorite dishes.

Xiao Ying was not overly courteous.

After they placed their orders, Xiao Ying looked at Cheng Yao and waited for him to speak.

He must have something to say to her today.

A hint of praise flashed across Cheng Yao’s eyes. “I came here for two reasons. One is to specially meet you, and the other is to visit my nephew.”

Xiao Ying asked in confusion, “Why are you looking for me?”

She thought he was here to ask about the virus.

Cheng Yao went straight to the point and asked, “Do you want to join the Chinese Academy of Sciences?”

Xiao Ying was shocked. She had never considered this before.

Cheng Yao continued, “You can study even more profound things at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. You are very talented, so I hope you can consider it carefully.”

Xiao Ying asked curiously, “Zhou Yao is no less talented than I am. Why didn’t you let him go to the Chinese Academy of Sciences?”

Zhou Yao paused in the middle of drinking water.

Cheng Yao glanced at him and said, “This kid has his own ideas. I can’t do anything about it.”

His tone was filled with resentment.

Xiao Ying became interested and looked at Zhou Yao curiously.

Zhou Yao was so obedient. What had he done to make Academician Cheng like this?

Zhou Yao coughed lightly and did not explain anything.

Cheng Yao tried to smooth things over for him and asked with a smile, “So what do you think?”

Xiao Ying hesitated for a moment before saying, “I need to ask the university’s opinion.”

She could not leave just like that.

Cheng Yao was even more satisfied. “Of course, but I already informed University A.”

Cheng Yao suddenly frowned, looking exhausted.

Zhou Yao quickly poured a cup of water and placed it by his hand. “Your headache is acting up again?”

Cheng Yao smiled gratefully and said, “It’s nothing. It’s just an old problem. I’ve just had some troublesome things on my plate recently.”

Xiao Ying guessed that his troublesome issue was the virus.

She met Zhou Yao’s eyes and suddenly said, “Academician Cheng, I want to ask you a question.”

Cheng Yao said with interest, “What do you want to ask?”

Xiao Ying said calmly, “Under what circumstances can a virus survive after leaving the host?”

Cheng Yao frowned and thought for a moment before saying, “If the virus has already shown that it is dead, it is impossible for it to revive.”

“Oh,” said Xiao Ying. “But I recently discovered a contagious virus that suddenly became active.”

Zhou Yao also added, “Because of a change in temperature.”

Xiao Ying continued, “At fifty degrees, it is an invincible existence. At thirty degrees, it will die.”

With the two of them working together, no matter how slow Cheng Yao was, he knew what they were hinting at.

Cheng Yao suddenly stood up and said, “You two can order whatever you want. Take this card, you have full access to its funds. I have something to do, so I’ll get going.”

With that, he hurried back to the hospital.

Xiao Ying and Xiao Ying were not surprised. This was what people who were obsessed with research were like.

Forget about others, Xiao Ying herself was like this.

After dinner, they returned to school and sealed all documents regarding the virus. They also handed the virus sample to the University of A’s collection room.

After finishing everything, Xiao Ying stretched comfortably. She looked at the clouds in the sky and said, “Zhou Yao, I want to go to the Chinese Academy of Sciences.”

Zhou Yao nodded.

What happened next was much faster. Cheng Yao only appeared a week later.

He was smiling widely this time. It was obvious that he had made a lot of progress.
