Xiao Ying brought Zhou Yao downstairs and asked, “Zhou Yao, I want to ask you a question. Have you used the instrument from yesterday before?”
Zhou Yao paused and nodded. “I saw my uncle use it.”
Xiao Ying’s eyes lit up. “Who is your uncle?”
“Academician Cheng Yao from the Chinese Academy of Sciences,” Zhou Yao said calmly.
“Academician Cheng Yao is your uncle?” Xiao Ying asked in surprise.
Zhou Yao nodded.
Xiao Ying continued to ask, “Then have you participated in any research?”
Zhou Yao nodded, then added, “Not much.”
Xiao Ying’s eyes lit up even further as she said, “Are you interested in joining the university’s research team?”
Zhou Yao looked at her and nodded without hesitation.
Xiao Ying was even happier. “Members of the school’s research team need to undergo an evaluation. You can register with the principal. As long as you pass, we’ll be comrades.”
On the way back, Zhou Yao kept thinking about Xiao Ying’s words.
