Chapter 802: Sky Thunder Landmines!

Sky Thunder Landmines! . . .

Observing Xiao Mufei, who had not experienced such genuine joy in many years, his eyes filled with love as a father, Zhan Yunfei found himself at a loss for words. He was hesitant to disturb such a harmonious scene, the happiest moment in Xiao Mufei's life.

What words could he offer? What right did he have to intrude?

He had no choice but to maintain a stern countenance and offer his heartfelt congratulations. To celebrate the occasion, he presented Xiao Mufei with a space ring as a gift. Yet, he was as baffled as the others about the contents of the ring. At this moment, he felt a sense of hollowness, unsure of his own actions and motivations. He couldn't shake off the gnawing sensation of insincerity.

Fortunately, he managed to maintain the same tone and courtesy he usually exhibited when conversing with others. While his words might have been slightly colder, he still conveyed well-wishes. The gift of the space ring had deflected any suspicion, and no one but Cha Eun Xiao detected the undercurrent of helplessness beneath his congratulatory words.

In his heart, Zhan Yunfei felt as though he were watching an impending tragedy, powerless to prevent it. He was aware that disaster might strike at any moment, and he couldn't stop it. What troubled him most was the knowledge that he had played a significant role in setting this chain of events in motion.

Cha Eun Xiao couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for Zhan Yunfei, an individual who had been one of his greatest adversaries in his past life. He no longer viewed him as a loathsome or accursed person; perhaps a cursed soul was also a pitiable one.

In the following events, Rongrong led the group, pointing out an area where concealed Sky Thunders posed a significant danger. If triggered unknowingly, the explosions from these hidden mines could bring death and destruction to those caught within their blast radius. Among them, Cha Chongxiao, the weakest in the group, would undoubtedly meet a grim fate.

Zhan Yunfei's brow furrowed as he observed the perilous ground and the surrounding danger. With a hint of disdain, he dismissed the threat, exclaiming, "Just a trivial trick! Wait here. I'll handle it."

With a confident leap, he vanished from sight, leaving the others waiting in suspense.

An hour later, Zhan Yunfei returned, exuding an air of nonchalance and accomplishment. His flowing white robes lent an aura of ease to his demeanor. His actions, however, were not driven by a desire to flaunt his abilities. He reached into a hidden source and produced several large buckets, sending them aloft. With a forceful crash, they burst open, pouring forth their contents—kerosene.

There were thousands of buckets, leaving those who witnessed the spectacle astounded by their origin. Zhan Yunfei, appearing like a master pyromancer, proceeded to blanket the entire valley in kerosene.

Off in the distance, within the valley, startled voices rang out as they noticed the kerosene. Zhan Yunfei's laugh resonated with cold amusement, and with a wave of his hand, he conjured a brilliant fire. A fireball of extraordinary size, resembling a dragon, blazed forth, soaring toward the valley. It illuminated the landscape, turning it into a fiery sea. Within seconds, flames engulfed the entire expanse.

Cha Eun Xiao and the group watched as several individuals desperately attempted to flee the inferno. Zhan Yunfei stood with his arms crossed over his chest, his gaze locked onto them, his expression unwaveringly stern.

In the blink of an eye!

—Boom! Boom, boom, boom…—

The earth trembled with a succession of thunderous explosions. The resounding booms grew increasingly deafening as the Sky Thunder landmines detonated, their fiery eruptions filling the air.

And then came another explosion, even grander than the rest, as a colossal mushroom cloud materialized and soared into the sky.

In this breathtaking moment, witnesses beheld a figure rising with the ascending mushroom cloud, as if they were witnessing an awe-inspiring spectacle. The cloud, though resembling those natural formations in the heavens, exuded an otherworldly aura.

To their astonishment, Zhan Yunfei, the agile figure in the group, seemed to blur and materialize in the sky. He ascended with remarkable swiftness, his swift ascent resembling that of a hawk swooping down on its prey. In a display of remarkable strength, he snatched a man suspended amidst the mushroom cloud, his grip as sure as if he were plucking a chicken.

With a swift motion, Zhan Yunfei hurled the man away.

Initially, Zhan Yunfei had thought the man was a formidable cultivator who had harnessed the mushroom cloud's power to escape. He had prepared himself for a challenging encounter. However, upon laying hands on the man, he realized that the unfortunate individual was nowhere near powerful. Rather, he was a hapless soul who had been inadvertently caught up in the blast, already charred by the blistering heat. Zhan Yunfei's touch merely encountered the man's roasted remains.

Revoltingly, it was an extraordinary experience for him as well!

In the ensuing moments, Zhan Yunfei took to the skies, soaring above the flames with the grace of a hawk. His eyes, as keen and piercing as a hawk's, scrutinized the valley below.

His unwavering gaze scanned for any signs of escape from the flames. While the ground below roared with flames rising to a height of nearly a hundred meters, emitting searing heat and acrid smoke, he appeared unfazed, hovering effortlessly in the heavens.

He recognized that the hidden adversaries below had sent more than a few hapless underlings on this mission. A formidable figure led them, concealed in the tumultuous conflagration, showcasing their might and audacity.

However, Zhan Yunfei understood that despite the adversary's power, the relentless inferno would eventually force them to reveal themselves. Even cultivators at the pinnacle of the Dao Origin Stage would struggle to maintain their composure and safety amidst such an unrelenting blaze.
