Only the weak needed to ‘mystify simple matters’ to protect their own status in people’s hearts, which was why they wanted to instill fear in people, and in turn the people would be in awe of them.

But the truly strong did not worry about the people defying them or go against them. Because the people simply could not defy them.

But the Great Tao could be like the spring breeze and shower, and it could turn tides, thus it would never be afraid of people getting close to it, or being with the people. This was true authority!

Facing the sacrificial altar, facing heaven and earth and facing the Great Tao, Li Ye opened his mouth and said, “Cultivators of the world, take in the Spiritual Qi of heaven and earth. Accept your fate, enrich yourselves and improve your cultivation. Use your power to move mountains and seas, take over heaven and earth. The people have always said that the way of cultivation is to go against the heavens, that’s why once your cultivation reached the Immortal Realm, you could take the heaven. Only when you take the heavens, you could then avoid having your spirit destroyed and continue to cultivate.”
Li Ye stopped after saying those words. When his eyes became sharp, he continued, “To me though, cultivation is not going against the heavens. Rather, it’s answering to heaven and earth, continuing comprehending the rules of the world, and the process of getting close to the source, the Great Tao.” “Only when you comprehend the rules, then you could possess the power of heaven and earth and make yourself stronger; only when you get close to the source of the Great Tao, then you could understand the true meaning of life. Eventually, you would be beneficial to the way the world operates!”
Gradually a hint of indescribable, but definitely righteous tone appeared in his voice, “Cultivators are not parasites of the world but the tentacles of the Great Tao. Cultivators do not use their power to destroy the world but to protect it. Cultivators absorb the power of heaven and earth to strength themselves and make contributions. They serve the world when they’re alive, and return to dust when they die. That’s why there are spirits in the world, and why the world is full of life. This is the basis of the Great Tao, this is Yin and Yang!”
“This is the path of the cultivators, the way of cultivators!”
