Chapter 500 The Importance Of Feats

The Battle of Valeant ended with the retreat of the Army of Destruction's Vanguard Forces. It was a rather shameful ending, especially after all of Daraya's bragging. What made it even more shameful was the fact that he was the only Major God to have fallen in battle.

"That was a good job, everyone. But do not let down your guard. The Army of Destruction's main forces will arrive anytime soon, and they will not hold anything back. We have to prepare for the worst." Shorn addressed everyone, his expression stern and stiff.

Everyone understood that this trying battle was just the tip of the iceberg. The true strength of the Army of Destruction consisted of hundreds of Gods. Dozens of powerful Major Gods and hundreds of Minor Gods. Meanwhile, Datar's own fighting force only amounted to about two hundred beings that could display strength at that level.

Shorn turned to Leon and asked a question. "Leon, were you able to turn any of them into your soldiers?"

Many eyes turned to Leon after this question was asked. This was something that could be pivotal in preserving their lives and ensuring they survived this ordeal, no matter how bad their condition would be after.

Unfortunately, life was not always good.

"No." Leon shook his head. "I tried, but there is a fundamental force that is preventing me from reviving any of the fallen fighters of the Army of Destruction. Perhaps I can bypass it when I reach the Major God level, but even then, I am not too sure." He explained.

"I see. Very well, then. Good job in the fight back then. If you were not able to help stall Pheher, then we may have been in a much worse position right now." Shorn accepted Leon's words and spoke a few words of praise before turning away. He then addressed all the other Gods individually. Everyone had done well in their own way.

"We shall return to Datar and await the arrival of the Army of Destruction. With their initial plan of overwhelming us on Valeant having fallen through, they might push for a direct war in Datar. We must prevent that at all costs."

With those words, the Gods returned to Datar's Celestial Realm to recuperate and wait for the arrival of the dreaded Army of Destruction.

Leon returned to his God Kingdom and appeared in the grand throne room, where he sat down leisurely and placed a hand on his chin to prop up his head as he fell into thought. His consciousness sunk into the depths of his mind as he began to reflect on the battle. As he did so, his aura began to rise rapidly and his presence grew so much that it engulfed the entire God Kingdom.

All sorts of beings were roused from their daily routines, their attention fixed on the central palace that was built on a small floating island. Most of them were celestial creatures that had been moved to Leon's God Kingdom after he had built it, while a portion were part of his Undead Army that had just returned with him from Valeant.

Kaladin, and Nero had a fervent light glowing in their skulls while Grokus nodded his head with appreciation of his Master's strength. The two Obsidian Skeletons barely restrained themselves from prostrating when they realized the pivotal step that Leon was attempting to take at this very moment.

Using the experience he had gained from witnessing and participating in a battle with Major Gods, Leon felt that he would be able to cross this vast valley that had separated him from the Major God realm. It had not been very long since he had become a God, and yet he felt that he had spent enough time in the Minor God realm.

'I will not be able to make a good enough impact in this war with the strength of a Minor God. But thankfully, the fight with Pheher allowed me to make the insight I needed to surpass this bottleneck!'

Leon had long been on the precipice of breakthrough, but something had always stopped him. It was only during his fight with Pheher alongside the other Major Gods that he realized what it was.

Feats.

As much as a God needed to comprehend Laws and increase their understanding, one important thing that played into the standing and overall strength of a God was the Feats that they had accomplished during their rise.

Already, Leon's astronomical rise and the feats that he had accomplished across Datar had played into this, and it had already reflected in his strength and growth, but those were still not enough to make him a major player at the God level.

However, with the feats he had accomplished on Valeant earlier, he had been able to grasp the path he needed to take forward.

In the fight with Pheher, he had raised his power to an unprecedented level, something unheard of for Minor Gods, allowing him to be able to fight against a Major God. This was something that was unique enough to resound across many worlds if it ever got out, and it surely would. This enough was something that could propel his strength and provide what he needed to advance to the Major God realm.

But it was not the only feat that had been accomplished.

The second feat was something that applied to not just him, but also the others that had participated in the battle. To be able to repel the forces of the Army of Destruction was not a small feat. This alone was something that stood on the same level as Leon's earlier feat! It was extremely rare to hear of a world that had been able to repel even the vanguard forces of the Army of Destruction!

With these feats propping him up, Leon put his earnest effort into crossing the barrier that had held him back so far. His aura washed over his God Kingdom, and the Divine Power in the God Kingdom fed back into him, empowring him.
