Chapter 490 Battle Of Valeant - Clash of Fates (3)

In minutes, the location of the battlefield had turned into ruins as the devastating powers that the celestials beings gathered there ravaged the lands. Each one of these beings possessed immense power. While the Primordial Plane of Valeant was sturdy enough to endure the hazards of battle between two of the weaker celestial beings, bearing the combined force of hundreds of celestials beings quickly proved to be a task for the plane.

The battlefield quickly spread out as everyone wanted space to carry out their moves and attacks without affecting their comrades.

In one of the central and most devastated areas of the battlefield, Michael floated opposite Deeno, his eyes sharp as he covered himself in a silvery barrier made from his Divine Power.

"You are strong." Deeno said as he took stock of Michael. "But not strong enough to fight me by yourself." He added.

"No one ever said I was fighting you on my own." Michael said and a figure covered in burning red flames rushed up to his side. It was none other than his partner, Asteria. The Goddess of Love had a steely look in her deep blue eyes as she stared down Deeno. As a Major God who had occupied her position for much longer than Michael, as well as possessing a sub-Domain that centered around battle, she was quite strong. She had shown her strength when she fought against the God of Greed of the Chaos Faction of Datar.

Aside from Asteria, two other Minor Gods that were part of Leon's Undead Army also came forward to support Michael and Asteria. While their strength was not enough to play a major part, their mere presence would be useful in restricting Deeno.

Deeno's sharp eyes examined the new entrants and a frown formed on his face when he looked over the two Gods from the Undead Army. Before he could think more on the strangeness of their beings, Michael launched his attack.

Covered in silver armor that looked as if it was made of silver liquid that was in constant motion, he dashed forward, conjuring a spear made from the same material in his right hand and a small shield in his left hand.

Asteria followed closely by his side, clad in her signature armor with a heart shape on the chest. A flaming sword was held in her hand and her eyes were dead set on Deeno.

Deeno did not rush forward like them. Like Michael, he was also a Fate God. While he was not too astounding when it came to his combat strength, as a member of the Army of Destruction, he was no slouch at battle.

With a wave of his hands, a cloud of flaming red arrows formed out of nothing and shot forward. The ones on the receiving end of this attack all felt their hearts leap in their chests and hurriedly created various defenses to block the attack.

Michael waved his shield and a silvery shield enveloped him and the others. Most of the arrows in the trajectory of the shield suddenly veered off path while the few that clashed with the shield bounced off it while creating ripples on the surface.

Michael's shield was one that utilized the Law of Fate to manipulate the fate of the arrows and alter their trajectory. It was not too difficult to manipulate the fate of objects like these arrows. Although they were imbued with the will and Divine Power of Deeno, that alone was not enough to make them overpowering.

When the rain of arrows ceased, the shield condensed into one point in the middle of Michael's shield, before turning into a beam of silver light and shooting right at Deeno.

At this time, over half of the distance between the two sides had been crossed. Asteria shot forward ahead of the others to engage Deeno in close range. The fires of her heart blazed madly and turned her into a fiery red meteor that tore through the distance in a mere second!

Clap!

Deeno clapped his hands and his body suddenly morphed, turning into a strange being that had six hands and two heads. His skin turned pale blue and his eyes burned with red light. Each hand held a different item. Two hands that sprouted from his back were holding onto a head sized hourglass in each hand. The two that were below the main hands held onto small shields, while the two main hands held onto two daggers.

Asteria clashed with him and both sides were engulfed in an explosion that raged with energy. Michael's shield flashed into existence for a moment to block off the worst of the explosion before visuals became clear on the situation.

A stalemate.

A red haze raged around the two fighters as Deeno blocked Asteria's sword with his shields. His two main hands that held the daggers suddenly blurred as they cut forward, but Asteria was ready for that. She pushed off and put a bit of distance between them to dodge the strike before rushing back in. In a fraction of a second, they had exchanged dozens of attacks, with Deeno blocking each of Asteria's slashed perfectly.

'He's using Fate to see into her attacks a moment before they land.' Michael immediately deduced and his mind went to work. He manipulated Fate as well in order to bend and twist what Deeno was able to see. It was subtle, but it would be very useful if it worked out well.

At the same time, he arrived within range of Deeno and stabbed his spear forward. One of Deeno's shield hands rose to block his spear and it did, but not perfectly.

Where the spear was supposed to be completely blocked by the shield, it instead grazed the edge of the shield and penetrated Deeno's defensive stance. While Deeno was able to move out of the way, the fact of the matter was that his impeccable defense had been breached.

Michael's plot had worked!
