Chapter 482 Trial Rewards

Mica and Elena stared dumbly at the scene before them. From the fracture in space that had been formed in front of them, a gigantic Dragon that stood at over a hundred meters in height. Its blue scales glimmered with the stars that were scattered in the backdrop of wherever it had come from.

A powerful Divine aura rolled off its body in waves, buffeting against Mica and Elena's minds.

"Greetings, little ones." The Dragon's thoughts were conveyed directly to everyone despite its mouth not moving at all. Its eyes were blank and the depths of the universe seemed to be reflected within them, a bottomless darkness hiding behind them.

"I am the Dragon God, Garen, the one who set up this trial." The Dragon God that had cast his gaze on Datar when Elena and Mica entered the trial grounds was the same as this one who had just appeared, but instead of manifesting completely, he had only sent down a portion of his consciousness to converse with Mica and Elena.

"Jonah, White, Pangu, Beiger. You four have done well. I officially relieve you of your positions as guardians of the trial, as there is no longer a trial to beat. You may do whatever it is you wish." Garen turned to the four guardians of the trial and nodded. Four of his scales split off and pasted themselves on each of the guardians' bodies. They were immediately enveloped in a bright glow.

Garen turned his attention back to Mica and Elena.

"As for you two, congratulations. You may receive the reward of this trial. The reward changes based on who won it so you will find it most suitable to yourselves." Garen held out an open claw and bestowed two orbs of light to Elena and Mica. The lights flashed in front of the two before condensing and forming physical objects.

Elena stared at the weapons she had gotten from the trial in shock. The weapons radiated a powerful aura that she knew was not limited to the mortal realm. A pair of black daggers sat in her open palms. Not only that, but there was also an eye-sized black marble.

"Your Excellency, what is this?" Elena asked carefully.

"The first are weapons, obviously." Garen chuckled deeply. "As for the other item, it is a special tool that will help you ascend to Godhood quickly. I can tell that you have a very strong urge and reason to get to that level. This will help you shorten the time needed." He explained.

"W-what? But... Shortcuts could lead to adverse effects!" Elena could not believe her ears.

"Indeed, but those shortcuts are crude and have many flaws. The flaws can be worked on, though. However, this Ascension Bead does not possess any of those flaws. It was made by myself, a True God, after all!" Garen's wings spread out proudly and the space around him trembled even further.

Elena's eyes widened in shock. She knew what a True God was. She had heard a lot from Leon and she had come to learn that True Gods were incredibly rare. Even among the Gods of Datar, there was no True God protecting the world. Any ancient Gods that had become True Gods long ago had left, wanting to explore more and find out the truth of the universe.

"Thank you, Your Excellency!" Elena bowed her head with respect and gratitude, truly happy for the rewards she had received. She longed to reach the level where she could stand and fight side by side with Leon and perhaps with this, she would be able to get there sooner than expected!

As for Mica, the light that had condensed had simply formed another Ascension Bead, but this one was much more powerful than the one given to Elena.

Garen turned to Mica curiously.

"Young one, you don't need much, but your prize is still valuable, nonetheless. You wish to grow stronger to protect that which you see as your own, yes? This Ascension Bead should pave a smooth path toward the Major God realm for you. That said, it won't do the work for you. It will only make your journey smoother!" Garen observed and told Mica. "You are the Child of Prophecy. Your ascension was already certain, but it will be much grander with this."

"Thank you, Ancestor." Mica bowed his head in thanks.

Mica had not immediately realized it, only coming to understand the truth after studying Garen a bit more. When he had initially gone to stay with the Dragons, they had taught him a lot about their history, and he had come to learn that the Dragons had multiple powerful Gods. Among them, only Five had managed to reach the Major God level during the Era of Gods. Among them, one had gone even further and had managed to pierce through the veil, achieving True God level and eventually leaving Datar for greater horizons. His name was Garen.

"You are welcome, child. Now, go. Fulfill your destiny and ward off the evil that has set its eyes on Datar. The future depends on you and your friends." Garen nodded at them before his body burst into a flurry of bright blue motes of light.

Whenever the light touched anyone or anything, a powerful vitality ran flush through their body, increasing their stats and power. It was amazing. Even the residual energy of a True God could bring such benefits to a mortal being.

"Mica!" Elena suddenly jumped at Mica, her face split with a wide grin. She jumped on his head and hugged him tightly. "We did it!"

"Haha! We did!" Mica laughed too and nuzzled Elena. "We beat the trial!"

"Yes, you did. Congratulations again." The voice of the trial guardian, whose name was Jonah, suddenly rang out and Elena and Mica turned to look at him, only to be taken aback by the giant Dragon that stood in his place. Around him, three other Dragons stared down at them with amusement.

"Shocked?" White chuckled.
