Chapter 458 Headstrong Opponent
"Speak with your FIST!" Already, Somonax was tired of this skeleton that had appeared before him. He let out an angry roar to the skies that sent the clouds rumbling and magma spewing from the volcanoes around them.
Leon was not surprised at this. He had already been forewarned of Somonax's terrible attitude and his penchant for settling things with his fists. He had four of them after all.
"...If you want a fight before you listen to me, then I will gladly give you one." Leon replied. He had not had a proper fight since his ascension. The fight against Umbra was nothing but an exercise of his Divine Power, not an actual fight.
"Haha! Good! Someone who isn't scared of a fight!" Somonax bellowed and banged his fists against each other.
As Leon had finally decided to get serious, he used his Divine Power to grow the size of his body until he became of the same size as Somonax. A terrifying Divine Might swept out of him and slammed Somonax right in the face, causing the latter to adopt a solemn expression for a moment before a battle hungry grin covered it up right after.
"Here I come!"
BOOM!
The volcano behind Somonax exploded into smithereens as he launched himself at Leon. Lava sprayed into the sky, painting an extremely beautiful picture, but Leon did not have the time to take in the sight at the moment. He held up his hand and conjured a black barrier in front of him. The Laws of Gravity gathered together to form a dense gravity barrier that stopped Somonax's approach.
Bang!
The four armed being's two right fists slammed into the barrier before coming to an abrupt stop. His expression changed and his arms were drawn to the floor before he could react. The earth shook as the two fists were buried in the ground, creating massive craters around them.
"GRAVITY?! MY FLAMES SHALL BURN THEM!" Somonax roared angrily and bright red flames erupted all over his body. The dark aura around his fists that came from Leon's power quickly burnt up, allowing him to regain control of his arms. He jumped to his fists and used an impressive footwork to try and get around Leon.
However, Leon was prepared.
Whoosh!
A domain of gravity appeared around the two of them and Somonax immediately felt all his speed drain away as he struggled to keep himself upright. His eyes gleamed with fighting spirit as he found this new foe before him quite interesting. At this point, he could already tell that Leon was stronger than him, but that would not stop him from fighting.
"NONE SHALL TRIUMPH OVER ME!!!" His loud, booming voice rang through the world as he pulled himself together and unleashed a barrage of punches at Leon from a distance. Large, flaming fists raced at Leon and slammed into his gravity barrier, sending strong ripples all over it.
BOOM!
Followed closely behind, Somonax threw all his strength behind him and lunged at Leon, cocking back all four fists and launching them forward at once, covered in a red, flaming aura.
BOOOOM!!!!
The entire world trembled and shook under the might that was unveiled in that confrontation. Clouds of dust and volcanic ash rose up and obscured vision, but neither of the two fighters needed their vision much to be able to carry on with this fight.
Leon's barrier crumpled under the full force of Somonax's full powered attack, but the barrier had also taken effect on Somonax. An unimaginable force of gravity weighed him down, slowing his movements to a crawl.
"You knew that contact with my barrier will slow you down, but you still went for it? I don't think I've seen such an headstrong action in a while." Leon's voice rang out as he appeared at Somonax's side with a sword in his hand.
Swish!
The sword carved an arc in the air as it slashed down, slicing off one of Somonax's arms. The red skinned celestial being simply grunted and tried to move, but with his bogged down body, he could never hope to match Leon's movement speed and stop him.
In a few more slashes, Somonax was left armless and quite frankly, helpless. The celestial being had a pained expression on his face as he tried but failed to stand. Divine Power was pouring out of his injuries like water running through a stream.
"Are you ready to listen to what I have to say now?" Leon asked, putting his sword away.
"You can speak. You have proven yourself to be far stronger than I am." Somonax grunted, feeling the shame of his defeat after all his shouting.
"I am here to recruit your strength in an upcoming war. You will prove vital to the war and you can also ensure your growth there too. Who knows, you can officially become a God as well." Leon went straight to the point, knowing that the best way to get to Somonax was to bring up fighting.
As expected, when he mentioned fighting and growing stronger through war, a light lit up Somonax's eyes and he nodded his head.
"Do it! I am willing!" Somonax immediately said, not even willing to listen to the rest of Leon's words.
Leon did not bother trying to continue explaining. He simply nodded his head and vanished. His job had been done. With Somonax having agreed, that meant he would face basically no resistance from the Divine Fragment. Somonax will become his summon even sooner than the Sea God would be revived.
Leon's mind returned to reality and found that in between the red light, black danced and mixed. He took a deep breath and allowed his Divine Power to sink into the Divine Fragment. The Law of Undeath seeped out of his Divine Spark and embedded itself into the Divine Fragment, making sure that he bound Somonax to himself before the former was revived.
After doing that, he turned and left the room, off to the next one. One by one, he would turn these long dead powerhouses into his own might.
