Eric had long since wanted to meet Leon. Leon's famous tales had surely preceded him, making Eric extremely curious about the nature of Leon.

Just as they were talking, all of Leon's summons suddenly froze as if they had been struck by lightning. Their eyes blazed with a purple flame as a connection that had long gone dull was reestablished.

Bzzt!

At once, all of them vanished from the meeting room, leaving Eric a bit dumbfounded. He quickly followed after them, arriving on a hilltop that overlooked the ongoing battle. Kaladin and the others were also standing on the hilltop with their eyes directed up at the sky where a large vortex that glowed with purple mana had formed. At the center of the vortex, he could see a being wrapped in black armor descending from the sky.

Whoosh!

A flash of golden light lit up the area above the battlefield as Alvar appeared in the sky. The battle had stalled as the supernatural phenomenon was just too eye catching for anyone to focus on their fights.

"Leon Cromwell..." Alvar's eyes were focused. After Leon had disappeared for so long, he had always been on guard. This was a powerful opponent that could go toe to toe, and even possibly defeat his strongest Generals. As far as he was concerned, Leon was the greatest threat to Rivera during this war.

"Emperor Alvar of Rivera. We never settled our battle back then." Leon's sharp and cold gaze landed on Alvar as soon as he appeared and a feeling of expectance rose in his heart.

"Indeed. One of us will fall today, and the direction of the war will be decided." Alvar said gravely. He could see and feel that the Leon before him now was not the same as before, but as a proud Emperor, he would never bow his head in the face of adversity.

As Leon hung in the sky, a flash of white light rose from the ground and flashed into Leon's chest.

"Leon!" Nedra's voice rang in Leon's mind and he could not help but chuckle.

"Did you miss me?" Leon asked.

"Bah! Miss you?! Why would I? I was just a bit worried." Nedra scoffed.

As they spoke, the spiritual bond that linked them together was renewed, sharing with Nedra the things that Leon had been through in the past months. What Nedra had been through also passed through Leon's mind.

As Nedra shared Leon's experiences, her level of comprehension of Divinity began to rise. Over the past months, she had risen her comprehension to about 35%, but with the sharing of Leon's experiences, her comprehension quickly rose to 50%!

This was an astounding phenomenon that was very unlikely to occur!

ραΠdαsΝοvel.cοm For the next few moments, Nedra remained silent as she tried to acclimatize to the sudden change. The increase in comprehension was not equivalent to a direct rise in combat power in most cases, but as Divinity was an aspect that she was already trying to get used to, it would not be too difficult for her to utilize her greater comprehension to achieve greater effects.

"Are you okay?" Leon asked, concerned.

"I'm fine. I just need a moment." Nedra replied slowly.

This interaction happened in the span of a few short seconds. In that short time span, from when the flash of light entered Leon, to the conversation he shared with Nedra, less than five seconds had passed. That timeframe was enough for Alvar to steel his resolve and launch his offensive on Leon.

A wave of golden and white light rose up from the ground and swarmed up to Leon, intending to overwhelm him through sheer force.

Leon reacted with lightning speed and held up his hand. In response, a wave of black, Unholy energy rose up and clashed with the rising wave of golden light. An explosion of unprecedented proportions shook the earth and blew away everything within range. Bodies were flung and earth was displaced. The sheer might of that attack was too outrageous!

When the shockwaves and light calmed down, only two figures could be seen in the vicinity of the black. Alvar was geared up in a set of golden armor with a helmet that covered his face. The helmet had two wing shapes fixed on the two sides, while the armor had the shape of a single leaf with two streams of water wrapped around the leaf. A golden spear with a white tip was held in his hand.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Leon's armor had also undergone significant changes. He had completely merged with Nedra in order to gain a greater combat strength in a short amount of time. On his pitch black armor, white marks had spread to form a white skull. On the sides of the armor, beneath his arms, several pairs of sharp millipede legs reached around to form a cage around the skull.

As for his helmet, a plain but cold looking helmet had appeared with only holes for eyes that blazed with purple fire. The only strange thing about the helmet was the colorful gems that were embedded on the top of the helmet, giving it a regal look.

In his right hand, a black sword that seemed to swallow all light had appeared. An aura that radiated despair and death hung around the blade. Just looking at it made some people feel as if the vitality that filled their bodies was being sapped out.

In truth, it was just like that. The sword Leon held in his hands was something that was made entirely out of Unholy energy. He had used his affinity as an Undead to forge his mana into this sword. It was supposed to be able to kill on contact, but against people of Alvar's level, it would not have such exaggerated effects.

Even still, it would still have devastating effects if it managed to cut Alvar. Already, the Emperor felt a high level of threat coming from the sword and Leon.
