Chapter 416 Hidden Moves

Two streaks of light dashed through the sky, clashing and colliding over and over again. Ring shaped shockwaves formed with each collision, sending powerful gusts of wind blowing over the battlefield on the ground.

Bright purple flames burned within the visor of Leon's white helmet as he chased after Garessa, swinging the giant sword in his grasp. A black weapon aura wrapped around the blade as it clashed against the sword in the grasp of the red phantom around Garessa.

Crack!

With each relentless strike, a large amount of physical and magical force was transferred, causing cracks to spread out through the body of the phantom.

"True Necromancy: Soul Devouring Flames!" After a moment of incantation, Garessa cast another one of her signature spells, conjuring a black and red flame that flickered and twisted to form faces of despair all over its form. The flames twisted and wrapped around the sword of the phantom.

When Leon's sword came into contact with the sword in the Meanwhile, Leon kept on with the pressure, using a flurry of spells and skills to pressure his opponent. Explosions of fire and wind lit phantom's grasp, the flames twisted and latched onto his sword, trying to eat it up.

"Not so fast!" Leon's voice was like thunder as his will fused with his sword, wiping out the mana that made up the Soul Devouring Flames.

"Tch! Tenacious cockroach!" Garessa growled and turned back to continue her flight while cooking up another spell. Over the next few minutes, she cycled through a series of spells, branching into other spells, and not just True Necromancy spells.

Meanwhile, Leon kept on with the pressure, using a flurry of spells and skills to pressure his opponent. Explosions of fire and wind lit up the sky in a long, winding trail behind Garessa. Leon dodged several ice spears and daggers that were conjured in large amounts at him.

"These needles can't hurt me! Stop running and fight!" Leon called out and reached out with his free hand. A dark purple power lingered on his palm and at the same time, a powerful gravitational force appeared around Garessa.

"Ugh!" She grunted as her body suddenly came under hundreds of times more weight than moments ago, causing her speed to drop as she tried to combat the pull of gravity on her body.

The momentary pause was enough for Leon to get close enough, maneuver, and take a strike at the exposed neck of the red phantom. With his white sword wrapped up in powerful Weapon Aura, he swiftly beheaded the phantom before proceeding to deliver a flurry of rapid strikes to the body.

Crack!

The mana that made up the red phantom's body lost all cohesion and shattered, exposing Garessa's body to Leon.

of Garessa's small body. A strong gravitational force drew her into his large hands.

"Got you!" Leon's eyes blazed as he reached out and grabbed hold of Garessa's small body. A strong gravitational force drew her into his large hands.

"WHAT IS GOING ON, ALVAR?! Our capital in under attack! What are you doing?!!!" Within the meeting hall of the High Council, Elante's furious words rang out. Everyone had stiff and tense expressions on their faces as they waited for Alvar's response.

"..." Alvar said nothing as he supported his chin with his interlocked fingers. His eyes were closed as he silently listened to the complaints of the hot headed man.

"ANSWER ME, DAMMIT!" Elante slammed his fist on the table.

"Silence." Alvar's eyes opened and golden light flooded out of his eyelids. His single word was enough to silence Elante as a heavy pressure came upon the latter's mind. "Everything is going according to plan. We will incur losses, but it is a necessity." He smiled mysteriously before closing his eyes again.

In his vision, the battle between Garessa and Leon was unfolding. Everything that was happening now was already within his estimations. He had guessed that Leon would have a trump card that would let him trump Garessa, so he had opted to sit back and let things play out.

The moment Leon grabbed Garessa, a smile passed over Alvar's face.

he vanished in a show of golden light, leaving the council members stunned and frozen. They could not do anything to stop him as 'Finally.' He thought to himself.

"I will be heading to the frontlines now. It seems the time has come for me to swat an annoying fly." He suddenly spoke up, surprising the members of the High Council. Before they could question him, he vanished in a show of golden light, leaving the council members stunned and frozen. They could not do anything to stop him as they were not present in person.

It was at that time that a certain someone that was physically present in the hall spoke up.

"Ahem. It seems my father has left already. Please, Elders. Let us end this meeting." Vera stood up and bowed her head slightly before the elders of the council.

"Very well, then."

"Until next time."

"Be safe, Princess."

One by one, the various council members' magical projections vanished as they bade farewell. Before long, the only one left was Elante who felt seriously affronted by Alvar's actions. With a final glance at Vera, he vanished without saying a word.

Meanwhile, Vera had a smile on her face. An opportunity that she had been waiting for had finally presented itself after a long time.

"It's time to launch the true attack. Nylenor will fall with this one move!" She thought to herself as she turned and strode away from the meeting room.

followed up with more spells to debilitate and weaken the opposing Necromancer.

Meanwhile, on the battlefield at the Wall of Magair...

After Leon caught Garessa, his eyes flashed with a myriad of colors as he cast a series of debuffs on her. He did not let her go, but followed up with more spells to debilitate and weaken the opposing Necromancer.

"You should have minded your business when your master sent you my way!" Leon said as a flurry of spells landed on Garessa's body. He did not even care that he also got some damage from the spells as he held onto her.

"Is that so? Haha! Fool! Your pride will be your downfall! I was never alone in the first place!" Garessa's voice rang out from the haze of mana and Leon had a bad feeling. Before he could react, a heavy pulse of mana appeared out of nowhere and knocked him back.
