Chapter 33: Outsmarted!
It was common knowledge that once a meridian was severed, there was no way to restore it. If the empire's strongest warrior, Qin Ban, had his meridians severed, even the empire's first-ranked master alchemist would not be able to save him.

"Fifth rank?" The result came as a shock to everyone. The green light on the crystal rose to the level which indicated Bai Ye was a fifth-ranked practitioner.

How was that possible?
This was the girl who kicked up a storm in the streets of Tong City. Everyone knew she bested Yun Mengmeng and her guards.
Furthermore, the discussion among the parties involved and the crowd hinted that Bai Ye was inherently talented. Although she was not a Mystic Warrior, everyone expected her to be a ninth-ranked practitioner.
