“Mrs. Yao, don’t be modest. We all know how much of a great student your daughter is. What exam would she not do well?”

“Everyone’s waiting to know.”

“Besides, wouldn’t it be great to celebrate her achievements as well? After all, she’s already discussing marriage with Director Yang.”

“They’d be perfect together—both of them would be the brains in their relationship, that’s for sure.”

!!

“Also, today’s Madam Yao’s birthday. Wouldn’t you want to tell her your score so that she’d be happy?”

Qin Man was at a loss for words.

She didn’t even know how to tell her mother-in-law!

Who would like to hear that their granddaughter had scored a zero on the exam?

Now, they didn’t know what else to say.

What should they do?!

Did they really have to tell the truth?

Yao Ran glanced over from side to side, feeling as if her skin was being pricked by an endless pool of needles. If she didn’t change the topic now, she was afraid that she’d have to reveal the truth.

No, she can’t!

Yao Ran glanced over at Yang Ming, who was standing right beside her. If Director Yang found out that her fiance had scored a zero in the competition, it would leave a bad impression for him.

It might even affect their future cooperation.

What she didn’t know was that the man had already decided to break their contract.

She took a deep breath, squeezing her eyes shut. This mustn’t be exposed on such a big occasion.

The only one who could help her out was her grandmother.

It was Old Madam Yao’s birthday today. As long as she’d be able to wave this matter over, they’d all stop asking about her score.

She hopefully stared up at the old woman.

As long as she’d be able to say something, today’s matter would be resolved.

However, just as she’s about to look and ask for help, she was met with Yao Yan’s cold gaze. A shiver shot down her spine and she clenched her fists.

It was him.

She knew that this cousin of hers had always wanted to humiliate her. He must feel so much better upon seeing her look so desperate, right?

Her face paled even further.

“I’ve brought my child here today who also happened to participate in the Math Olympiad. He could look into the site on everyone’s behalf,” one of the ladies announced, breaking the tense atmosphere.

The lady had a wide smile on her face.

This was such a good opportunity to embarrass Qin Man. That woman had previously mocked her child for his poor results, and now was the perfect time to strike back!

Her eyes glistened.

If she could trample this woman under her feet, everything would be worth it.

All eyes were on her.

“What are you waiting for?”

“Madame Yao was just being modest. I can’t believe we have to go through these means to congratulate them.”

“I’m sure they’ll thank us for telling the truth of his daughter’s great score.”

Under everyone’s urging, the child slowly took his phone out to check.

Qin Man held her breath.

“There’s no need to check,” Yao Ran said hastily as she walked over to them. “I’ve already checked my score. There’s no need for this.”

The boy continued, unaffected by her words.

Yao Ran was so anxious that she grabbed a hold of the boy’s phone.

If they found out, it would be terrible!

Even if she had to disregard her image for a while, this was worth it. She didn’t want anyone to find out her results!

When the guests saw her like this, they were all extremely shocked.
