Chapter 818 Crossing The Line
"What are you going to do? Surrender or resist?"
Everyone's gaze was focused on Max. If he refused, then the obvious was going to happen.
Max on the other hand, had his eyes on the elegant looking man who had posed the question to him. He could feel a very dangerous aura from that man. It was even more terrifying than Blinken whom he had fought earlier.
'This guy is already half the way into the next level…' Max muttered inwardly with a heavy look on his face.
'I can't win…but escaping shouldn't be a problem if I want to..' Max was confident in his ability. He still had a few things up his sleeve. But, using that in this situation wouldn't help him. It would only make the situation worse as they were not his enemies.
"I don't have any intention to harm you guys. But, I think you guys have taken my friend in. So, I just came to take her back.." Max decided to change the topic from the fight.
"Those matters can all be discussed once you surrender.." But, the elegant looking man still didn't seem to be interested in it at all.
"Why in hell do we need to negotiate with a brat? Why not just take him in? What in hell could he possibly do?" The boorish looking man didn't seem to be pleased with the conversation between Max and the elegant looking man.
"Shut up..Rhino.. Don't interrupt when I am talking.." The Elegant man gave him a glance, but it was obvious that it didn't go through the guy's thick head.
"I don't get it at all. Why in hell do we have to take it easy with him when he caused so much of a commotion around here?" The Boorish man asked with a dissatisfied look on his face, and a few faces in the group changed a bit as well. Even though they didn't like this guy, they couldn't deny his words.
Max ignored their bantering and still maintained the calm look on his face. He didn't expect people to love him in the first place when he was causing a commotion like this. But, he hadn't killed anyone nor even caused any serious injury to people around, so these guys better not go overboard as well.
"Tsk..look at this twerp ignoring my words..'' The Boorish man finally seemed to have taken notice of Max's attitude and it pissed him even more.
"What the hell are you looking like that for? I will pull your f*cking eyes out.." He stepped forwards while glaring at Max.
The situation really did pull everyone's interest as there was not an ounce of fear in Max's eyes. Even the elegant man seemed to stop for a second. He was interested to see what Max had in himself to be so full of confidence. Hence, he allowed the situation to continue for a little while.
'Curiosity killed the cat..' Max thought internally knowing well what everyone had in mind. But, unfortunately, he didn't have the intention to make the situation worse.
"Hmph! Are you going to just act or do something? You coward!" The guy suddenly grabbed Max's collar, and a little frown finally emerged on Max's face.
"Huh? Angry?" The Boorish man smiled, "What are you going to do about it?"
Max just stared at him. But, he didn't make a move. If he fought, it would be either he let himself get beaten up or just kill this guy with all he had. Both situations didn't favor him. It was really an infuriating situation.
'This b*stard..' A vein popped up on Rhino's face when he saw the look on Max's face. He extremely hated it when things didn't go his way.
'Ah this guy is pissed..' Everyone else had the same thought in their mind when they saw the guy trembling in anger. They knew that this guy's behavior was bad, but it got even worse when he was in anger. He would truly lose all decorum, there wouldn't be a sentence without curses coming out of his mouth.
This was the reason that he was never brought in meetings, and even the commanders didn't communicate to him personally.
"Don't glare at me B*tch! Hit me if you dare!!"
When Max didn't react to his provocation, the guy couldn't help but feel disappointed and let go of Max while he turned around to leave.
"I don't have time to deal with cowards like you. But, it might not be your fault. I guess you are from a family of p*ssies. You mother must have been a great b*tc-"
Before he could complete his last word, a terrifying killing intent suddenly came crashing down on him. In a single second, he felt as if his body had been dipped into ice cold water.
The people around seemed to feel something too, and everyone seemed to see death in that single moment.
The elegant man was the strongest, and hence was quick to react. He knew that this kind of feeling didn't come until the person had an absolute belief to kill his enemy. And, right now Max was giving the same feeling.
He immediately took out his rapier from his sheath, and took a step forward when his eyes fell on Max who had taken a step forward too. There was a strange looking crystal blade in Max's hand with black runes engraved onto it. This was another of Axel's products. A failure to be more honest.
He had tried to create a teleportation device using the space crystal. But, it didn't work. Yet, he had left one of his black runes on it. And, Max perfectly knew the consequence of using his energy on the black rune.
To be honest, this was a dual edged sword as Max too wouldn't come out unscathed. But, luckily he had borrowed Lear's shield which had been with Axel. So, he wasn't that hopeless. He would survive for sure.
'"Stop!! You brat!!!"
Suddenly, a thunderous roar rang through the sky.
