Chapter 715 - Blackmailing

"What now?"

"Y-You!!" The old man's eyes immediately widened on the sudden change in Max's aura. He was dumbfounded. He definitely hadn't expected it.

"Who are you?" The old man asked with a frown as he looked at Max. He was no longer sure what was going on. This really was confusing. But, one thing was for sure, Demons weren't allies.

"Don't give me that look, I am still me. It's just that..'' Max suddenly let out a small blob of white flame. It was the thing within which the Demonic blood was stored. "I managed to take some high quality blood from some person I met in Ocean."

The old man frowned as he looked at the blob of white light with a little red speck in it. He could clearly feel a strong Demonic aura in it.

"How is this possible?" He looked at Max with a frown on his face. "No, it's entirely possible that you had hidden it in your storage device from the very beginning.."

"Are you really that sure?" Max asked him with a cocky smile on his face.

This smile only made the old man frown even harder.

"If you are so sure, then I will prove it, but the stakes would become higher. Or I can pretend that you never said that.." Max further added.

"Fine, do it." The old man didn't back down. After all, if Max could prove him wrong, then it would really be something he should thank him for.

This matter wasn't something to be taken lightly, the Demons were hiding right under his nose. This was just too much for him to take. He had been trying to build this force for so much time, and yet some pest had entered his territory and was trying to destroy the fruits of his labor.

This wasn't something that he could tolerate.

"Good, then I will prove it to you today." Max nodded with a confident look on his face.

"Have you visited the Feather District?" He suddenly asked the old man.

"No, but that is one of the District give to the Yule Family's for management.." The old man replied.

"Is it?" Max asked in surprise. But, he already knew.

This District actually had the Fragrance Dining, this was the reason that Max was heavily suspecting the current Patriarch of the Yule Family.

"Why are you laughing?" The Old man asked, having a bad feeling about it.

"You know this entire situation is hilarious.." Max shook his head. He wasn't acting right now. This was the truth.

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you kept an eye on the city. But, no demons came into your vision. Well, the reason was very obvious. Most of them probably were not close enough or were strong."

It was true even Max with his genes which was like a Demon detector couldn't' easily tell Talia apart from humans if he didn't come in direct contact with her.

"Secondly, the lower Demons whom you might….I will have to use 'might' since I am not sure of your capabilities.." Max forced a smile on his face before continuing, "So, the demon whom you might have easily discovered didn't enter your eyes, do you know why?"

"Why?" The old man asked as his face began to sink.

"Because of your trust in your family," Max calmly replied.

"What are you trying to get at?"

"I am saying that you turned a blind eye or should I say that you let your guard down? You thought that there is not a single problem within my family. They are the main forces which you prepared to go against the Demons, so there was no way that there would be any problem in them…but.." Max paused and gave him a pitiful look, "I hate to break it to you but, I suspect that your family has sold its souls to the other side.."

"Don't talk bullsh*t! What proof do you have?!" The Old man was enraged. He refused to believe it. He had been present around this place for so long. How could it be?

But, Max's words were true..

He had indeed never suspected his own family. He had never gone to check on them, or suspected them like he did to others.

This was a common thing, no one suspected their own. None of the parents wanted to admit that their child was bad.

"Proof? Well, I sent someone to find it. And, even if he can't, I can just take you around. The Demons have actually opened a restaurant, the food is good," Max said with a smile and the old man's face twitched.

The kid was clearly taking a jab at him for being irresponsible. That is if he was right.

"You better not be wrong, or I will whoop your ass.." The old man warned him.

"You too, don't forget the bet. I am expecting a nice servant for the period of my stay in Ocien." Max smiled at him. He kept it to his stay in Ocien because he knew he couldn't push the old man too far.

But, even that wasn't something easily achievable.

"Servant? When did I agree to something like that?"

"Don't go back on your words, try to remember it.." Max gave him a look.

The Old man frowned and after a bit of thinking, he gave Max a glare, "You never mentioned your side of bet.."

"You didn't let me. It's not that I didn't mention. It's natural for me to assume that you would do anything I ask.." Max calmly replied, and his attitude irritated the old man.

"Don't go assuming things naturally!"

"Didn't you naturally assume that your family can't be the bad apple in the basket? So, I don't think you are in the position to be saying that?" Max calmly looked at him.

"You know your position, don't you?" The old man suddenly let out his aura, and Max immediately felt a crushing force weighing down on him.

"You don't know your position, Old man." Max forced a smile on his face even in that situation, "I am here on the Ancient Families order, you sure wanna mess with me? Besides, if you don't honor the bet. I will ask the Von Family's Progenitor for justice. I hear the Von family is known for their righteousness."

As soon as Max took the Von family's name, the Old man's face turned ashen. That person was the last thing he wanted to see in his life. And, like Max said, that guy was indeed righteous.

The trauma of the past was still fresh in his mind.

"Tsk..I was just trying to say don't count your chickens before they hatch.. You still haven't proven anything."
