Chapter 668 - The Old Man And Max

"Cheers!"

"We did it!!"

"Hell, yeah!!"

A celebration was currently going on in one of the luxurious hotels in Trinity.

And, it sure was an odd one. The people dancing and enjoying themselves here all had bandages on their body. Some even had crutches while a few were on wheelchairs. Only God knew what kind of messed up situation this was.

These people here were all from the Ancient Family who had participated in the fight to eliminate the Dark Society from Trinity.

And, it was obviously a huge success.

"Drink my friends!! It's all on me today!!" A man shouted at the top of his voice as she stood on the dancer's pole. It was clear that he was totally drunk.

This guy was none other than the Homeless Lord of Trinity, Roman Roxley.

After being thrown out of his house, he suddenly had received an invitation to the party. The timing couldn't have been any better.

"What's wrong? You don't look happy?" Rihanna asked as she looked at Synthia who didn't seem to have her mind on the event.

"No..it's not like that.." Synthia smiled as she looked at her and held her hand before pulling Rihanna closer.

"Uhmn....We are in public.." Ragnar reminded the two, and they immediately changed their behavior accordingly.

"Where is that guy?" Synthia suddenly looked at Ragnar and asked him.

"Which guy?" Ragnar wasn't an Esper.

"That jerk.." Synthia decided to make him one.

"He still needs time to recover. Not sure about his current state.." Ragnar replied with a helpless smile.

If Max heard their conversation, he would surely like to ask Raganar how he identified him without his name being even mentioned.

"Are the rumors true? I heard you were nearby.." Bell suddenly asked as he looked at Synthia. He was obviously referring to the rumors, that the Branch leader got done by Max.

"Well, kind of…" Synthia reluctantly gave a nod.

The confirmation immediately made their eyes wide in surprise. It was true that they understood there were also some other factors playing a role here. But, even with that, it was a feat almost impossible to achieve. After all, it was very difficult to even stand in front of a Grandmaster Tier Mage if that person didn't want you, much less kill him.

And, yet Max had achieved it. It wasn't a surprise that most people weren't buying it. Not to mention, there wasn't any reliable source for the information as of yet.

On the top floor..

At the same hotel, a different scene was taking place here.

The Progenitor from the Storm and Leviathan family both calmly sat down with the old man from the Yule Family in front of them.

This guy sure wasn't opening his mouth.

And, the Storm Progenitor sure had reached the limit of his patience.

"Bang!"

The door to the room was suddenly flung open as a figure busted into the room.

"Sir, I am saying you are not in a condition to move." The nurse followed the guy with a worried look on her face. She knew that this person was someone important. If anything happened to him, it would all come down crashing on her.

"I am fine. There is nothing to worry about." The voice belonged to Max.

After waking up, the first thing he had done was trying to find this Old Progenitor. It was very hard to find these old monsters. Even their own Family members weren't able to meet them, so he didn't want to lose the opportunity to get his answers from the old man. He was afraid that this guy would just leave without answering him about Lear's condition. Hence, he had come to find him.

As for his condition, there was nothing to worry about. He had infinite vitality. As long as he survived and entered a normal state, he wasn't dying no matter what.

"What are you doing here? Go and rest." The Storm Progenitor frowned seeing Max behaving recklessly.

"I said I am fine. I am just here to get the answer to my question." Max stood there, looking at the old man.

"I am busy now, we can talk about this later," The Storm Progenitor replied, and Max could see that as well. Something seemed to be going on here.

"Well, then I will just wait here." Max moved to the side to find a seat for himself. He was sure that if it was something that he wasn't allowed to hear, he would be kicked out of the room. But, if it was not, there wasn't anything stopping him from listening.

The nurse looked at the people around with a tensed look on her face. She had an idea that these people were all big shots. Hence, she didn't want to offend anyone.

"You can leave." The Old lady of Leviathan waved her hand, asking the nurse to leave, saving her from her tensions.

After a brief moment of silence in the room, the Storm Progenitor finally spoke once again, "So, are you going to talk or do I take you back to Old Von?"

The Old man's face turned extremely ugly, and he finally began to hesitate about what to do.

"I will agree to your request on one condition," He finally said with a grim look on his face.

"Let us hear it.."

"I want that kid to return what belongs to me rightfully." He pointed at Max behind.

"What do you mean rightfully belongs to you? You are just a thief who stole it from Scarlet House." Max snorted at the old man.

"Brat, I placed it in the Scarlet House. So, I can retrieve it if I want to." The old man glared at Max. And, his words left Max with a frown on his face.

'He kept it there?'

That sure was some absurd claim.

It was clearly something that belonged to Wilson's mother, passed down to her by the previous Patriarch of the family.

And, this guy was just a First Elder.

How could his status surpass the Patriarch?

He sure was making some ridiculous claims here.
