Chapter 616 - A Phone Call

"Come, I will let you meet my parents." Lora smiled at Lear as she grabbed his hand and pulled him along.

Lear looked at her, and didn't know what to say. Wasn't she hurrying a bit too? He would definitely love to meet them, but they had just come. It was better to let them have some time with the other important guests.

Not to mention, there was still no official announcement regarding them. And, if they acted like this, it might make people think a bit too much. While the reality was way too different, he didn't even know how Roman and even his own parents were going to react.

As the two of them got closer to them, Melinda smiled at them while a frown appeared on Roman's face.

"You are looking great, sweetheart.." Melinda said with a smile, and moved in to give her a hug.

But, for some reason, Roman pushed his way in between them and put his hand above Lora's head, "Look how beautiful my girl is."

Lora's face twitched a bit for some reason, but she smiled the next instant.

"Why are you blocking me?" Melinda whispered to Roman with a frown on her face. The guy had clear stood in between not allowing her to not even touch her.

"Did I?" Roman asked in confusion as he looked at her with an innocent face.

Melinda looked at him, and just shook her head. She then turned to look at Lear with a smile on her face.

Lear politely lowered his head a bit in greeting, "It's been a while, Lady Roxley."

"Why are you acting so distant? You are my savior after all," Melinda said with a smile.

Lear couldn't help but force a smile on his face on hearing that. Like in hell he was able to do anything. He was only able to try, and endanger himself in exchange for her safety. But, she was the one who saved herself and resolved the issue in the end. After all, just how many people could possibly match her out there.

Melinda then lightly held onto Roman's arm as the guy showed no intention of giving up that menacing look on his face. In the end, she tightened her grip onto his arm, and Roman finally smiled a bit.

"How are you doing young man?" He put his hand out, and Lear shook it a bit nervously. He was just hoping that his hand would return back in the same state. Luckily for him, Melinda pulled Roman's hand back and separated the two before he could do anything.

Roman decided to back out for now. This matter had already been discussed before. They had established peace for and there shouldn't be any trouble now. Not to mention both of Roman were not some ordinary member of the house. If something happened, it would definitely move the sentiment of the entire House and affect them.

"Hmmn?" Melinda suddenly looked at Lora. Something seemed a bit odd about her. Now that she thought about it, wasn't the girl so shy that she flipped out at the mere mention of her and Lear after what Max did at the meeting? How in hell was she standing with Lear here then?

Was she just acting up at home or was she acting right now not wanting to upset Lear?

"Are you fine, Lora?" She couldn't help, but ask.

"Yeah, I am fine." Lora asked, looking a bit confused, and then looked at Roman.

"Obviously, she is fine. What do you think is wrong with her?" Roman spoke with a smile and after a short conversation, he pulled Melinda along to go upstairs where all the other Senior people had gathered.

Melinda looked at Roman. She didn't know why but Roman seemed to have reacted less aggressively than she thought him too.

....

Erina and Axel were still busy in their conversation. They seemingly had lost track of time.

Erina was enjoying telling the story to Axel while Axel was enjoying coming up with the perfect scenarios to use the stories in the most evil way possible.

The people around were looking at them with a jealousy. But, the two had totally forgotten about them.

At this moment, Erina's phone rang and a frown appeared on her face when she saw who it was from.

The caller's name spelt Neo Yule.

Well, that was a familiar guy. And, an evil one.

She already knew from Wilson that even though Neo was pretending to be good on the surface, he was not. So, Erina had been careful around him these days, not letting her guard down.

She didn't know why he was calling when he hadn't interacted with her after the first competition at all, but she still picked the call up.

A minute later, she kept it down. And, suddenly got up preparing to leave. "I have to go now. We have the competition tomorrow after all."

But, as she turned around, a hand came and grabbed her wrist.

"Thud!"

Erina immediately turned her head around and saw Axel looking at her as he grabbed her hand,

The chair behind him had fallen down as he had gotten up in a hurry. The noise from it had attracted a few people's attention even when the music was going around.

"Lovers quarrel?"

"Weren't they laughing a minute ago?"

"Who knows? I just hope those two break up."

People around immediately began to chatter. They were more than happy to see others in trouble.

"Leave my hand...:" Erina frowned.

"Sure, but mind telling me what that guy said?" Axel asked with a smile.

Erina's eyes turned serious. It was as she expected, this guy had seen the caller's name.

"I said leave, people are staring at us." Erina gritted her teeth as she tried to maintain the smile on her face. She didn't want to use strength here. If not, Axel would have his hand hanging from his shoulder.

"Should I contact Wilson?" Axel asked her with a calm look on his face, and a frown immediately appeared on her face as she sat back down.

This immediately poured a bucket of cold water on those people's head, who were hoping for a good show.

"Damn, that guy obviously is a master.."

"To think he can control the unruly Scarlets.."

Erina's face turned even darker on hearing those people's voices. Those idiots weren't even realizing that at this distance she could hear them. Hell, these people actually weren't even whispering. It was as if they wanted to be heard.

"Will you let go of my hand now?" Erina stared at Axel.

"Oh, sorry.." Axel immediately released her hand and then waited for her to speak.

Erina looked at him with a bit of hesitation before finally speaking up as she clenched her fist, "That guy asked me to find him if I wanted to know about my mother's condition."
