This might not be the first time she broke down before me – she did quite a few times during training – but I still felt hurt because the reason for her current state this time was different.

I walked back to the castle in a daze. When I was about to enter the castle, Dylan stopped me.
“I’m sorry, Luna. Alpha said that you can’t enter the castle.”
I didn’t say anything. I didn’t know how else to convince me to let me in. All I could say was that I didn’t have the energy to argue with him anymore.
